I was greeted by the nicest guy who not only made me some of the most delicious taquitos, but also gave me directions to a shoe store where I bought two new pairs of shoes. Yum!!! Everything we ordered here was delish! The staff was so nice and friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and orderly - even the salsa bar didn't have a drop of messy to it. We got the potato tacos and birria Gordita. I got some of the avocado salsa which perfectly accented the potato and meat. The restaurant itself is classic taco shop - nothing too fancy - cafeteria style seating and few games for kids. Reminded me of some of my fav so cal taco shops. So...this is my favorite spot for a monster burrito..the ultimate cali burrito. Been getting them since they opened. Never an issue. Today i went in and got that burrito because i was craving it. As soon as he handed me the bag my heart sank. This was the smallest burrito ive ever gotten from there. And its not even a regular burrito. Its the biggest they sell. I even asked for extra cheese. I was craving cheesy loaded nachos, so I looked up what non-chain Mexican places were around me, settling on Durango Taco Shop when I saw they had loaded carne asada nachos. Sweet! Unfortunately, once I got home and opened the box, I had soggy nachos covered in a fake nacho cheese sauce and carne asada that was overcooked and dry. I had been looking forward to ooey gooey cheesiness and got something that looked like it could have come from a gas station. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla, which turned out to be pretty good (actual real cheese was used), and is the only reason this is three stars instead of one. I initially felt it was worth paying $18 per entree to support a low local business, but after seeing the quality and effort put into the food, I no longer feel that way. There are so many options for taco shops in Las Vegas it is hard to pick where to go. I stopped in the Durango Taco Shop on Stephanie for lunch and was very impressed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful even though my Spanish is not the strongest. They were very quick which is great for a lunch spot. I got the Al pastor tacos and they were so good. The tacos were overflowing with meat, they could have made 3 more tacos. I will definitely be coming back. I'm giving 4 stars just because they were pretty greasy , but other than that no complaints! read more

Got here on a Wednesday about 11am. It was not busy yet. We got their taco special of 3 tacos for $5.55, 2 fish tacos and a burrito. Clean restaurant and good and fast service. We waited less than 5mins and got our order. There's a sauce bar for you to get as much as you want. We asked for lime and she gave us two bags of it which is a lot and we appreciated that. I see they have menudo and it's not a weekend. I'll need to come back for that. Our food was good! We really enjoyed it. As we were getting our food, there were people slowing coming in. And by noon, it was a lot more. Looks like a nice local spot for Mexican food for very good food at decent price. We will be back. read more

This place is over hyped. I ordered The nachos and let me tell you they're so not worth the price. You're better off going to Rivas they taste wayyy better, And you get your money worth. The place is small so I would only eat there if I was getting on the road to drive distance if I stoped there. The lady taking orders wont do much to fix your order. You Have to call a manager to get approval to fix an order. They don't offer replacements or refunds. So what you get is what you have to accept. 01JUN2022 visit 11:20 A.M. As per my last visit, the food is on point. The service today was not. The young woman who attended to me today displayed mute hostility in between dialogue. I walked in, greeted her in Spanish, she replied in English. Unsure what I did to rub her the wrong way. Simple order of fries, queso-birria fries and a carnitas burrito. Jamaica, horchata, and bottled water. There was a man that ordered after me in Spanish and her replies were curt and in English. My wife observed her as she stared me down while I scooped some salsa and pickled carrots. The man that ordered after me finished his lunch, and he left, she thanked him. We were enjoying our lunch when a group of men came in speaking in Spanish. All of a sudden she turned into the most fluent Spanish speaker I've ever heard. I got up to ask for a takeout bag and she ignored me for about three minutes after she finished her phone order. I packed up my leftovers and as I walked out, no thanks were given. Looks like this place is hit or miss on service. The worker could use some training on customer appreciation and respect. My fiancé bought us dinner from the Durango taco shop because he had heard it was good and the photos looked appealing. He ordered rolled tacos which came with guacamole, sour cream, and cheese, two pastor tacos, two lengua tacos, two carne asada tacos, and five birria tacos. The pros: the birria tacos were actually quite decent. They came with a side of consommé, and were cheaper than the birria tacos we normally get. Unfortunately the pros end here. The cons: the meat was very dry (even the birria unless it was dipped in consommé). It was surprising because the meat was cooked in salsa, and that didn't even help to keep it moist. The rolled tacos were completely flavourless, even with the guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. I tried a little of the guacamole on its own and it had zero seasoning. They looked delicious, but it was sad how lacking in flavour they were. I would only come back for the birria tacos if I am craving birria and don't feel like driving to Vito's. Decent taco shop if you're in the area. I only tried some of the tacos so I can't speak for other items on the menu. The tacos are small street tacos but don't let that fool you because they are loaded with meat. Very good size. I liked it a lot. Best one was definitely the birria tacos. I would come back just for the birria. Al pastor meat was dry and hard to chew. It was also too salty for my preference. Nothing special to note about the carne asada. It was pretty average but I probably wouldn't get it again. There is a small salsa bar but it has all the essentials. I especially liked the cilantro lime sauce and the salsa verde. I also got a horchata but I thought it was too sweet for my palette. It tasted mostly like condensed milk. It was nice to balance the taco flavor though. The food was probably a 3/5 for me. The workers are nice 4/5. The restaurant itself is humble but has enough tables for multiple parties and seems clean 4/5. I hear the fries are good and I'd like to try more of their birria items, so I'll probably come back for those next time! read more
