The restaurant Gods heard my cry when I wished for a Tacotarian in Henderson! Sooo happy to have one of these awesome spots on my side of town! Am I a vegan or vegetarian? No. I am a meat eater, but let me tell you, I promise, you won't be able to tell the difference here. Tactoarian is the real deal. And you won't miss your beloved chicken, beef, etc. here. They do the best job at making you think you're eating the real thing. Seriously, it's sooo good. I decided to check this place out today on lunch because I needed some lunch and well, it's been on my list to come check out this new location. I'm already a lover of the one downtown and the one over across town, too, so obvi I had to come see this one. This location is really nice and is in the same shopping center as Smith's and is over in the corner, next to Toro Sushi. I believe it took the spot of an old Starbucks, which I think is a great use of the space! They also have a really incredible patio, too, which will be so awesome once it starts to heat up a bit! I ordered the taco platter, which comes with a choice of three tacos. I got the al pastor, the chorizo and the dorado, which is basically potato. It also comes with a delicious side of rice and beans. All three tacos were sooo tasty and delicious. I loved the pineapple that comes on top of the al pastor... soooo good! I definitely can't wait to come back here and eat more tacos. I also really want to bring my husband who is also a meat lover, but I know will think these tacos are absolutely outstanding. First time at this location. ( previously had been to the one downtown and was super happy with my experience there ) Everything was AMAZING. Environment was neat and service was outstanding. The cashier Hanna was really polite and informative. Got me squared away with a 3 course meal!Originally just came in for a burrito ended up ordering a drink, appetizer, burrito plate and dessert!! No regrets. To start when she mentioned the takis elote, I could not miss on that. One of my favorite street food items without the guilt, it's all vegan! The burrito was massive and flavorful, got me full quick. I ended up going home with left overs! Just a personal thing though, didn't bother me too much but peas in my rice is not my favorite. :3 onto dessert though, another classic... done VEGAN and mannn!!! those fried Oreos!!! I don't know if could call them guilt free as I am a diabetic but mannn... again.. all VEGAN the coconut based ice cream went really well. Also was told about a promotion they were running where you receive a $5 gift card good for next year after purchasing a gift card. Treat someone this season. Oh em geee. This place is amazing! I'm not vegan, but I'm dairy free and just prefer to not eat meat, so I love going to vegan restaurants knowing my food won't accidentally be contaminated. Today was my third time here in about 10 days. I'm obsessed with the horchata. Literally so good. So far I've tried the gabacho taco, crunchwrap, fideo, takis elote, and carne asada taco. Gabacho taco and elote wins my favorite by far. I was not a fan of the fideo but everything else was good. I love how cute it is inside. Tacotarian, located in Henderson (215 and Valley Verde Dr.), provides a modern take on Mexican food. There's no meat on their menu, but you would never know it. Like the name suggests, Tacotarian is a vegetarian taco eatery. To be quite honest, I had no idea when I walked into this restaurant that it was a vegetarian spot, however, I was beyond surprised. The place is phenomenal and the food packs tons of flavor. The manager was super friendly and talked to me a bit about their philosophy of providing healthy, yet flavorful Mexican food. I am a huge fan of tacotarian. But I was extremely disappointed with the service and experience at this location! I ordered tamales to be picked up Sunday and when I arrived they told me my ordered was not ready and to come back Tuesday. They never alerted me that my order was pushed back TWO DAYS. When I go to pick up my tamales today I asked for some salsa with my order of 12 tamales and they give me one tiny container of each salsa... When I pay $53 for 12 tamales....I wish I had a better review to give but overall this location I would pass on and make the trip out to the Southwest. read more

This restaurant is located in a really nice plaza and there is even an outdoor patio next door. The space is clean and staff is friendly, ready to answer questions. They explained that brunch was available and since this is a meatless menu, I decided to try the Soyrizo Breakfast Bowl and order a side of Chips and Salsa. The flavors are great and the texture and the blend of ingredients, really make it feel like I'm eating a meat dish. Because there is no meat, it doesn't feel heavy and I was full without being weighed down. The only thing I would note is the spices are a little more than I was anticipating, so when I go back, I really have to be in the mood for a spicy dish. The chips and salsa were perfect with crisp chips and more of a mild type of salsa. I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes next time! read more

I've been wanting to check out this plant based Mexican restaurant in downtown Vegas, but haven't made it and realized they have one in Henderson. I ended here at the one in Henderson yesterday . So happy I did! I wanted to try a few different tacos. My favorite out the three I ordered was the Veggie taco! Omg it was so flavorful! I loved the combination of the mashed potatoes,Mushroom, and Poblano peppers with the cilantro lime dressing!!! The other two I ordered was the Plantain Con Mole, and Barbacoa with Jackfruit tacos. They were both really good too. I also had the cauliflower ceviche...Eh it was okay! Next time I would opt to try the Elote corn on the cob as a side. For my drink I had the Vegan Horchata!! Yum! I loved it! Loved the ambiance and decor here. Plenty of seating options inside and a nice size patio out back with plenty of outdoor seating as well. I feel like I should give this place two stars but overall, when everything is counted, it deserves three. I'll start off by saying I am not vegan or vegetarian, nor do I follow any sort of dietary restrictions. Along with that, I have only been to one other vegan restaurant in my life. I decided to try Tacotarian because I have had a few friends who have hyped it up big, both vegan and non-vegans. First off, food aside, their patio is spacious and very nice, especially when the weather is gorgeous. Everyone who worked there was extremely courteous and friendly and helped me make my decision on what to get. To give it a fair shake, I decided to try a lot. I got the three taco platter which came with Mexican rice, black beans, four different kinds of salsas, and three tacos of my choice (Dorado, Al Pastor, and Mushroom Asada), a strawberry margarita, and chips and guacamole. The chips, Mexican rice, salsas, and strawberry margarita were all good. Everything else unfortunately was lack-luster. The beans and guacamole were lacking serious flavor, almost as if there wasn't any salt added. The mushroom asada taco tasted like a tortilla filled with mushrooms (no duh right?). I figured it should at least have asada spices on it and if it did, I couldn't taste them. The dorado taco, which is a deep fried mashed potato taco, wasn't bad, but again, it lacked flavor and the texture was odd just having mushy potatoes in a tortilla. My first bite of the al pastor taco was fantastic; I was incredibly surprised! I unfortunately wanted to save the best for last and by the time I got there, it had cooled down and it was a completely different texture and the flavors were no longer poppin'. Mexican cuisine is not traditionally vegan focused like some other cuisines such as Indian or Thai or Egyptian and though the food wasn't terrible, it wasn't something I will be wanting to eat again. Now, I have had many people love this place and one eat here 6 times in one week! For me though, I'm glad I tried it Tacotarian is not a restaurant I will be returning to. read more

This review gets four stars for the service and food. To be honest, I don't like eating at a place where I have to order a the register and then find a table to eat at; are you fast food or not? That said, the guy at the register was SO enthusiastic and SO sincere about the food that he made the experience a great one. And the food -- my goodness -- you won't be hungry when you leave. You'd think with the name Tacotarian that the place would emphasize Mexican food, but there we so many great breakfast offerings that we skipped over the Mexican menu and went straight for chick'n and waffles, and a sausage sandwich on a pretzel bun that was absolutely to die for. Love this place! The best vegan Mexican food I've found so far! My go to's are the Baja (fried avocado) and al pastor but I also love the carne asada and mushroom tacos. For the month of January, they have a special: birria crunch wrap which is HUGE! Only a couple days left to get that, so go and check it out if you can! I've been to all three locations and was super stoked when they opened up in Henderson since that's the closest to where I live. Tonight, I ordered the Birria platter. I didn't see that it came with rice and beans so I started looking around the menu and reviews here to see what others thought of it. The reviews and pictures here sold me. Now it's my turn. This is the review of the birria you've been wanting. The tortillas are very tasty. I love their corn tortillas. They have a great yellow corn authentic flavor as if they are made in house. The broth/consome for the birria is very flavorful. It even has garbanzo beans with onion and some kind of peppers. So good! Sip on it! The filling for the birria is jackfruit with beyond meat and at first I was going to call to see if I can just have jackfruit but then I decided to just try it. I'm glad I did. The mixture of the meats and spices, is phenomenal. I dipped those tacos one my one and enjoyed every bite. Good tip: You won't need a side of rice and beans. It's very filling! This place is many things to me. I have memories of taking my granddaughter here and she was vegan and she absolutely loved it. Her favorite was the Mexican corn with the Taki's sprinkled on top. I love it too and her friends catered like 80 of them it at her memorial service. I enjoyed all he food I tried while going to eat there with her, especially her favorite Mexican corn. I loved Tacotarian from the first time I visited their original spot on Fort Apache. I was super excited when they opened in downtown with the same great options. And I was beside myself when they opened even closer to home on Valle Verde. In service, atmosphere, and food quality this location is hands down the best of them all. If you haven't been to one already, the premise is simple -- Tacotarian is a spot where a vegan can walk-in and have all the choices a meateater has at any other taco joint. There are multiple options if you want plant-based meats and cheeses (asada, al pastor, birria, "beef", "chicken") or if you want something with straight veggies/fruits (potato, mushrooms, jackfruit or plantains). There is a whole brunch menu on the weekends and tamales for the holidays. They even do crunchwraps, flautas, tortas, and a unique take on a "chicken" and waffle sandwich. Definitely splurge for the asada fries if you're hungry or just get a couple tacos if you need a quick snack. If you are used to only having one vegetarian option to choose, you will probably be overwhelmed. I think I have now tried most of what's on the menu and I have my favorites (asada, dorado, baja, gabacho) but I've never been disappointed. Nor has any meateater I've brought with me. If you have room for a treat, go back to the counter for the Oreos at the end. They're always perfect and you won't regret it. I ordered the "barbacoa" (AKA marinated jackfruit) taco plate with chips & guacamole. The guacamole was delicious! Really fresh, with great flavor & big chunks of avocado. Definitely would recommend. The chips were fresh and crunchy as well. The rice was incredibly bland. Normally I love Mexican rice, but this had no flavor whatsoever. I ended up not eating it. As for the tacos, the tortillas were AMAZING. Seriously, if this restaurant sold just corn tortillas in a package, I would go out of my way to buy them. They're that good. They have four spice levels of salsa; I got some of the mild & medium. Definitely go for the mild salsa, it's awesome. BUT....(and this is the main reason for deducting 2 stars)....the barbacoa. If you've ever had marinated jackfruit, then you know that, when done properly, it tastes almost indistinguishable from actual shredded beef. Even the texture is the same. So I was really excited for these tacos. I bit into one, and.....vegetables. That's what was in my taco. Mainly it was a mixture of jalapeños, tomatoes, and onions, but there were only a couple of tiny slivers of jackfruit. Sure, a vegetable taco is probably great if you're into that, but since I ordered barbacoa, I was expecting....well, barbacoa. And this was not that, not even close. To say it was disappointing would be a major understatement. TL;DR: This place is probably amazing if you're actually a vegetarian. Food is awesome! Service is...ambiance is.... . Great decor and patio area are enjoyable. However outside is so dirty. Tables are sticky and full of spilled stuff. I mentioned this to the staff today (we were the only 2 in there at 2pm). She said the birds are awful, but someone cleans tables once a day. Really? Don't you clean inside tables after each customer? Wipe them down? The two workers were just standing behind the counter talking to each other. I worked in restaurants a bunch.... Grab a rag and wipe down tables. I've noticed this before and never said anything. It keeps getting worse. It's not a bird problem. read more

This place labels some of their food as gluten free. However, I came in today for dinner at 5pm and was told everything was cross contaminated with gluten and that I can't eat anything on the menu. I have celiac disease and I can't do cross contamination. Just really disheartening being told there's nothing on the menu that can accommodate you or the staff not even try to help when the menu says otherwise. read more
