Went here since I was craving Birria & had always wanted to check this place out. Went in and got their basic birria tacos, their nachos, & agua de tamarindo. Lady who took my order was fine, but the one handing them out? We'll get into that. Their tacos were good. I think well seasoned. A little oily for me, but overall fine. Their consome was not it. Too salty and "bitter" for my liking (had stomach pain the rest of the day after drinking). My agua de tamarindo was good; sour which is how I like it, but good. I can't rate the nachos since I never received them. I think the nacho situation could've been avoided, but what really upset me was having to call my card company (a month later) for a refund that I never received after being told I would... As for ambiance, think of your local taqueria with the music blasting & the kitchen in sight. Nothing out of the ordinary. All in all, it's a meh place if you're in the area. A few months ago, tiktok blew ups with videos of people dunking cheesy, meaty tacos into a steamy broth. After watching 100+ of those videos, I had to try one myself. After some digging, I found out about this place! There was a pretty long wait time for our food because we got here on a Saturday night but it was so worth the wait!! The tacos tasted so heavenly after dunking in the savory, slightly spicy and sour beef stew. They were also very filling. I was confident that I could finish all three birria tacos with a breeze, but ended up being too full after the last bite. In the end, my friend and I ordered some to-go for lunch the next day. I really want to give this place 5 stars but didn't due to the wait time. We we're seated immediately but it took 45 minutes to take our order and at the end 25 minutes to pay our bill. Other than that...everything else was spectacular. It was my first time having birria tacos and birria ramen noodles and it will not be my last! I found them on Uber Eats as well. Some restaurants, I can say pick the chicken taco because it's better than the steak or vice verse...not here. They all are good and filling! The staff was amazing. I ordered an original birria Ramen bowl with a quesobirria taco and lemonade. The food is delicioso! You can smell the food in the air around the corner from the restaurant which is where I parked. Yes I know there is more than one restaurant on the same end of the block but as soon as I walked into the door the smoke from the grill was right there. Although the staff behind the counter was busy working hard to get that good looking food cooked. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and there was no one in line in front of me. I spent significant money and traveled a great distance to try this taqueria. That being said, I was not expecting to wait that long for tacos. To think of it, I've never waited that long for tacos in my life, nor have I ever paid that much for tacos. I ordered the sampler, which came with 1 carne asada taco, 1 chicken taco, 1 rajas con queso taco, 1 chorizo taco, 1 al pastor taco, 1 lengua taco......I wanted to get a variety.....I also order 3 quesabirrias tacos with consommé and 4 Jarritos. It took them 35 minutes to prepare the order.......Oh, did I mention that the order was actually prepared and had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes. I had to promote them and let them know that my order was ready. The customer service: It was below average......If I'm being honest, the customer service was simply terrible. There was obvious disorganization and the staff seemed overwhelmed, which I didn't understand because the place is very small. Note: The floor in the doorway has a piece of tile missing, this caused a tripping hazard, upon entry if you're not looking down. Also, after prompting somone other than the waitress who took my order, when asked about my order she appeared to have and attitude. The food: The tacos were average. I've had better but not bad. My issue, since they load them up with meat, the meat should be flavorful. The default toppings of cilantro and onions didn't offset the flavor deficit. The Ambience: There is a small indoor dining area......Beware of the tripping hazard.........There seems to be confusion about seating but I believe it was first come first serve. This would include indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is also a small area but a very nice touch. The outdoor seating area is blocked off outside the entrance to the restaurant. I would highly suggest, if sitting outside, go inside and let them know you're out there........Remember, customer service isn't the most attentive. Overall, the journey is too far for any further consideration. The food was average at best and the poor customer service isn't worth a second try. read more

This is less than a handful of times trying Birria, but their meat was some of the best I've had so far with minimal fat. The juice (consome) could be better but it was good. Solid pass on their Birria fries; especially if delivery-ends up soggy and wet. Eep. Horchata is very good. Not too sweet but just sweet enough. Almost perfect, no cinnamon-so, not quite. But almost. Recommends. Was having issues ordering through Yelp! and location has two numbers 773 & 312 # to which they were both not answering. So that wait was fun! Luckily, it all worked out. The best one so far is the Biscoff tres leches Edit: 4/25/24 just tried this place again today and spent nearly $50. First off let me say that the money isn't the issue for me. We got the Biscoff Tres Leches, Lalos on the beach Fries and a Birría Torta. The male cashier has 0 customer service skills. He should not work with the public at all. I ordered the Biscoff tres leches cake and the Lalos on the beach fries. My brother considered changing his fry order due to the cost ($22 for Lalos on the Beach Fries) and the man at the register would not listen to him. He was only speaking to me. He was clearly ignoring him So I repeated what my brother said. Then I ordered the Torta and the cashier asked my name so that he could put it on the order. I spelled it for him and he ignored me and still spelled it wrong, like really wrong. This is the second time he's done this to me. I'm taking it personal this time. Then when we received our food and we went to the car tell me why the cup of consomé was on its side! It's a cup full of boiling hot liquid and it was laid on top of our styrofoam containers instead of just sitting it upright in the bag 1/4 of my consommé was in the bag instead of in the cup. My brother liked his fries, but my Birría didn't have much flavor and unfortunately that's the trend here. I've patronized this place so many times, and sometimes the Birría is flavorful and sometimes it's not. I really really wish they would get consistent with their food. At least the Birría tacos are stuffed, I'll give them that. The flavor is never the same week to week. I wanted to support a small business, but I also want good service and good food. Whomever runs their social media accounts (the female owners I believe) are extremely rude and they should consider hiring a professional social media manager to respond to customers via Google and Instagram. First of all, the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's clean on the inside. My friend and I were seated immediately and were given menus. Now, let me tell you about the food; OMG it was delicious! I ordered the quesabirria taco platter and it came with 3 tacos, rice, and beans. My friend ordered the quesabirria sampler which came with shrimp, chicken, steak, and traditional birria meat. Everything came out fresh, hot, cheesy, and sooo good! Not quite L'Patron level with the carne asada, but damn good. I prefer my steak tacos with a nice char and Tacotlan executes well. Similar to L'Patron they'll also nickel and dime you to death for toppings. Each taco can easily approach $8-$9. I know that sounds crazy, but I cut them a little slack because they're using a higher quality cut of steak than most Mexican restaurants. The Lalo's on the Beach is a taco with skirt steak and shrimp. .. delicious. Order it. They're actually best known for their Birria. It's top notch. Five stars, nothing less for Tactolán. I have been seeing birria with consomé all up and through Instagram, and I finally was able to give it a try. they did it perfectly. flawlessly. The ordering process was seamless. They currently do not have dine-in and you have to order on their website. A few clicks and a payment later, I was informed I was sixth in line and that my food would be ready in 15 mins. My food was prepared and ready right on time! The food was packaged tightly and the best part was, it was PIPING hot! Like hot hot! I ordered the consomé ramen with a birria quesadilla. This quesadilla was the best quesadilla I have ever had in my life. The birria meat was juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. the melted cheese was the best part. The tortilla was fried with a nice crunch. Every bite felt like literal heaven. The consomé ramen was FIRE literally and figuratively. After reading a couple of rave reviews that @tacotlantacos has the best birria tacos in the city, I just had to try it for myself. Honestly, I've never had birria tacos before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but, I did like them, and would order them again.  But I wasn't in love with them.  I ordered the birria dinner and it was well worth the $15 price. You get rice, beans, six corn tortillas and enough meat to make at least 6 tacos.  In fact, I was able to make eight tacos out of the meat that they gave me. The meat and the sauce was just a little too spicy for me, otherwise, the taste was very, very good. We also ordered one taco Camaron which was very small and only had two large shrimp in it that were cut into small pieces. One taco al pastor that was good,  but,  also very small and one chile relleno taco which was big and very delicious. All in all, a good meal with a couple of Hit or Miss items. read more
