Great real Mexican dishes,excellent service and very comfy surroundings...We come here all the time!!

If you're a local, you most likely have heard of Tacovore! I have heard of it so much over the last year or so and because of Covid and just not finding the time, hadn't had a chance to see what all the hype was about until now. I have a few favorite places in town as I know Corvallis very well. I could easily see this place being added to the list. This review is just based off of the one taco I tried, so keep that in mind. I wasn't very hungry but I knew I needed to try something. What caught my eye was the Venison taco they have, called the Carnivore. I thought it was soo good! I'm not usually a fan of corn tortillas because they seem to always be dry and/or chewy. I honestly really enjoyed this one, and obviously that's the foundation of a good taco. I didn't really know in advance what was inside of it but each bite seemed to bring out more flavors. It was sweet but savory. Veggies tasted very fresh and the elk was great. I wish I had ordered more but now have more to look forward to next time! I ordered inside but did carry out. The staff member I interacted with was super cool, genuine, and kind. I think his name was Lucien? Anyways, they bring the food out to your car and it didn't take more than a few minutes for my food as well as my friends order. As far as I can see, they do very well at following the county Covid restrictions. Offering hand sanitizer at the door and the counter. The restaurant looked very clean, and looks to be a nice atmosphere to enjoy when dining in. read more

I was on tour and stopped here with my group to meet a friend. Venue/aesthetics: First off; the menu looked amazing before we arrived and then once we pulled up to a beautifully large building with ground, low, upper, and outside seating we were stoked! The atmosphere was super Laid back, very clean, and the crew were very nice. Food: tacos, tacos, tacos! The tacos come in singles, so I went with the daily special Called the "herbivore" since I'm vegan, it had fresh gold beets, pumpkin seeds, black beans, fresh roasted veggies, finished with a cashew queso cheese!!(omg, soo good!) I also got the Tempeh Chorizo taco which was vegan and just so tasty. Chips and thick and crispy, salsa is mild, local beers on tap along with kombucha and Mexican coke! Go here! read more

The food here is just always so good. I recommend not balking at paying for chips and salsa, they are delicious AF. Service has always been good or great. The music was a little loud and made hearing our server difficult (a problem I don't have other places) but that's about the only gripe I have. read more

This is maybe the 6th time I've been here. I love it for the huge tofu tacos, the self-serve hot sauces (about 5 different sauce choices and delicious!) and the cocktails are super fun and refreshing for these hot summer days. I'm giving 4 stars only because the service gets strange sometimes, I usually end up waiting to my waiter to come back because I want more food or another drink, but by the time some one comes back around, I need to get going. I hope someday to be able to order another round in time ‍. (Side Note: I've also been told that people don't like to go here due to the awkwardness of the service structure- sometimes order at the front, sometimes order at a table. Getting a table outside is probably your best luck with service.) read more

I have been to the Eugene location many times without disappointment. This was my first time to the Corvallis restaurant. My partner and I were greeted by a friendly staff person who gave us menus and directed us to sit wherever we liked. Our food server brought water right away. I went with the mex modern bowl and my partner got his usual carnitas. Both arrived quickly and were delicious. I am a recent vegan, Sometimes the menus are lacking in choices when I go out. Tacovore did not let me down. I loved my bowl. The coconut black beans were very tasty and original. The cashew drizzle was also great. The staff was very attentive and nice. Got our tacos to go and ate them at a park. They were very full and very good. Chips & guacamole were also good. Reasonably priced.

I really enjoyed the food and the staff were wonderful! I recently went while the weather wasn't the best and I really appreciate that the staff worked hard to keep up the restaurant, continue to make the environment nice and ensure that those coming in for food enjoyed their time. read more

Food was good and staff was very friendly. Chips and salsa should be complimentary Imo although they do have good salsa. Tostado was good but expected it to be bigger. Was more side salad size than an entree. My sister liked the vegetarian taco options she ordered as well. read more

As someone who grew up in a traditional Mexican household I thought that overall the food lacked taste. The Jamaica drink was delicious (not too sweet) and the tortillas seemed freshly made. Chips were good but guacamole needed more salt ($8 guacamole). In terms of the tacos I got the carne asada, mole verde, and tempura fish tacos. Tacos are a good size but were just average. The carne asada was chewy and under salted. The fish and mole verde were decent but could be improved by more flavorful sauces. Considering the price of each taco I expect something that tastes better. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the mixed drinks looked delicious but I'll rather spend my money somewhere else. read more

Don't come with a group! They've recently changed their policies to -- get this -- groups with more than four people cannot do separate checks. Instead, they'll split the total bill EVENLY between all diners. Really? Point-of-Sale technology has come a LONG way in the last few years, yet they're going backwards. This policy just doesn't work with groups, so we'll find another venue that's more welcoming of us and our business. read more

This place looked hopeful but I wish I would've read more reviews before just going with it! I'm from California and have had a lot of amazing authentic tacos. Now, I'm all for fusion and exploration of tacos so I wasn't necessarily expecting authentic- just tasty. I ordered the fish tacos and steak. They looked appealing but lacked flavor. I was so excited Corvallis was getting a Tacovore! I love the Eugene location, and like everybody else, I LOVE tacos. So I waited patiently for the place to open. It did. So I had to go check it out. I really hope I will be back to update this review with more stars once John and his crew get their feet under them. But for now, it pales to the experience at Eugene Tacovore. Today's soup was a pork green chile stew. The flavor was fine, but it was served barely lukewarm. This on a cold day. Lukewarm stew. Oh well. The Carnitas are a go-to at many taco shops, and that's true at the Eugene Tacovore, so I ordered one. It was too salty and indeed a very different style from what they serve in Eugene. The pescavore taco was blackened salmon. So I tried that. The salmon didn't taste as fresh as it should, and they didn't do a good job getting the pin bones out! I can say that the Corvallis Tacovore shares a name with the Eugene Tacovore. They also have the same lotteria cards for the servers (order takers) to find you when your food is done. The metal chairs are the same uncomfortable ones they have in Eugene. They serve salsa the same way -- little paper cups you can squirt one of several flavors in. The mango habanero was nice and spicy; the chipotle was bland. The Eugene Tacovore has happy hour twice a day with a small discount on tacos and margaritas. There doesn't appear to be a happy hour at the Corvallis location. The venue is clean, and the wood panels are nice. If they get anywhere near as busy as the Eugene location, they don't have enough seating. Parking is a little challenging, but there's PLENTY of space just a few steps away because it's in a big shopping center. The tortillas were fine. I presume they were made fresh today. Nothing outstanding, but they were fine. That's the start of a good taco. My tortillas did not fall apart in my hand. I will give them a few months and try again. In the meantime, I'll be visiting the Eugene location for that Tacovore I know and love. Please bring the standards up to what I'm used to so I can give a revised review with four or more stars! read more

I went to tacovore Eugene and this two places are different in food and customer service. The one in corvallis need to practice honesty and realize that people go there to enjoy and relax. COCKTAILS: I ordered a spicy margarita, instead i got a spicy strawberry margarita. I kept it. I couldn't taste the spicy flavor and asked the bartender if I could get it fixed. He said he couldn't do it. So i had to order an extra shot of tequila to do it myself. I ordered a mezcal and I asked my server if they used fresh like juice, she said "they fresh squeeze the lime". IT WASN'T. APPETIZERS: I asked our server if the Guacamole was fresh, and she said, "we make it fresh in the kitchen". To my disappointment the guacamole was not fresh. It had no fresh cilantro, onions, or any flavor but the preservatives that comes with them. I said, okay, well it is what it is. TACOS: I ordered a fish taco. It was the most blend and dry taco I've tried in my life. The overall experience was not good at all. I am not planning to go back to this location and I am not recommending my friends to visit this place. Save your money and your time. They get a 2 star because they were fast in service. read more

probably the worst tacos and service I've experienced at a restaurant in a long time. Tortillas we're cold and limp, fish tasted old, like it had been cooked and held in a steam table. It's been 2 years since I've set foot in Tacovore, but some friends wanted to meet there recently. I was pleased to find that they have improved the way food is ordered. Now someone actually comes to the table and the waiting in line to order is gone! Well done! Prices are not too bad, especially considering inflation. Food still mediocre, but good beer and nice outside dining atmosphere, so if they can nail down the food this place would really move up a notch. read more

Everything that TacoVino is not: fast service, owner who doesn't have a smart mouth, mouthwatering tacos, great atmosphere. Outdoor dining that's not on the damn street. Waiters that don't bark at you like overworked, overwhelmed dogs. TacoVino pretends to be exactly what certain Corvallisites would like to be: cool, hip, not just another clone of microbrew dives all over the PAC Northwest. It fails at all of those. But Tacovore doesn't give a damn about all that: they are just good people serving good tacos to good people. A Corvallis staple. read more

The only reason I didn't give it 5/5 stars is due to the fact that this place is quite pricy. I've had comparable tacos from food trucks in town that are much cheaper. Tacovore is nowhere near authentic Mexican, but I would say they give it a modern twist and it's pretty good. They have a decent amount of vegan options. For their tacos, they have a crispy smoked tofu taco, crispy cauliflower taco, tempeh chorizo, and an herbivore taco on the daily specials menu. They also have a mexi-modern bowl that is also vegan. The margaritas are amazing and worth a trip here for sure! read more

We're visiting Corvallis and saw this nearby. My husband and I both had fish tacos, he also had a chicken one, and I had the Tacovore salad. All items were fresh and delicious. Even the tortillas were great. Lots of healthy options and vegetarian/ vegan too. We just got takeout, but dine-in is available too. Found a hair in my food and staff kind of lied to me. Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Service was okay and food was as expected. But I'm one of tacos I found a long black hair deep inside of it. I took it to the waitstaff and the guy apologized and replaced it fairly quickly. We went to my table he said he would take it off my check. I thought that was very kind but it's counter style so I wasn't sure how'd reopen my check since we'd gotten there 20 minutes before. Many different types of tacos available, with both soft taco and hard shell selections. There are many "permanent" menu items, with additional specialty taco choices added in, that have all been quite tasty. Taco prices are roughly $4 per taco. They have additional items, ie rice and beans that can be added for an additional charge. Our group found the rice to be rather bland for Mexican food. (The rice is the consensus item to avoid) They do not have fountain drink service...instead, you buy each can of soft drink. Service is pretty good, but can be spotty. Orders are taken at your table, with the server bringing them out to you. Inside and outside seating. We have been to the trendy Trejo's Tacos in LA...Tacovore is definitely better, and less expensive. read more
