This review is about a margarita only. If you are going to sell a habanero margarita then it should have some heat. Habanero peppers are known to be hot so anyone ordering a habanero margarita should not be upset if it' burns. Maybe I got a mild batch. The tacos are delicious and they give you huge portions. I got 3 tacos but 2 is way more than enough. The tacos are packed with your choice of protein. They also have vegetarian options. The margaritas are really good and pretty strong! We thought by going at 4pm we wouldn't have to wait in line. However, the line was long but it went pretty fast. They have happy hour from 3-6pm every day so that's probably why. The food doesn't take long either. The atmosphere is great and perfect for a night out. read more

Such a fun place to go for happy hour! Bustling, but the line goes fast, and their margaritas are delicious! The tacos are creative and tasty, but if you're looking for authentic Mexican this isn't your place. Great blends of flavors, though, and they always have unique specials to try. Casual setting with some killer margs. My favorite part of tacovore is the selection of mezcal :) I'm a big fan and there aren't many places in Eugene where I can choose what KIND I want. Tacovore, as the name suggests, is the taco hotspot of Eugene and serves up a large variety of tacos ($4-5 each) along with margs or beer. The tacos are served on a decently sized flour tortillas and packs enough meat for up to two more typical street tacos, which makes the price point easier to chew down. I went with the carne asada and mole verde. The carne was had some good flavor but the meat was a tad dry. The mole was delicious and well cooked. The sauces were definitely stand out and pack quite a punch, especially the habenaro. Def come during happy hour 3-5pm for 50 cents off tacos and $1 off beer and margs. read more

This 3 stars rating is really a 2.5 stars rating, rounded up. I came here on a weekday evening so the place wasn't completely packed, there was plenty of seating. We ordered at the counter and someone brought out the food for us. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: 1) Guacamole and chips - avocado was fresh, but the guac lackd much flavor and was overwhelming 2) cajun shrimp taco - the bay shrimps were so small and didn't have much flavor at all 3) carnitas taco - the pork was nicely cooked, this was my favorite 4) carne asada taco- the beef was pretty overcooked and didn't have much flavor in my opinion 5) flan - thicker than most flan I've tried, still tasty though 6) Passion fruit and mango tea - very, very sweet but the flavor was wonderful Overall, this is a fun atmosphere to meet friends and hang out. I have been wanting to go here since we moved to Eugene a little over a year ago. I love tacos. They are one of my favorite foods. And everybody has talked this place up to me. I was just slightly disappointed. While some of their food was amazing, some was just "eh". They were also small for the price and the shells were so small that all of my taco insides fell out with one bite. Let's be clear here though, I loved some of the items! The chips and salsa- 5 stars. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa was homemade and delicious. The margaritas- 5 stars. Some of the best I've had. I had strawberry and my sister had a jalapeño lime one that was a bit spicy but AMAZING flavor. The mushroom taco- 3 stars. The mushrooms themselves were good, but the taco was so dry and didn't have much flavor. This taco would be greatly improved by a really good sauce, but it had nothing. I did add some of the sauce from the hot sauce bar, but it really needs a good creamy sauce. The "fish taco"- 3.5 stars. Again, the fish itself was good, but the taco as a whole was lacking. There was too much cabbage on it and the whole thing was so dry. This taco also needs a good sauce on it. I did try some of a bean and cheese taco as well as a tiny bite of my sister's monthly special 'carnivore' taco and both were way better than the two I ordered. I wish I would have ordered a carnivore myself! The bottom line is that these tacos are overpriced for the size and SOME of the menu items are just okay. Tacovore is easy to get to in the Whit and has good on street parking available. They currently have outdoor dining options (a big white tent set up, partially hiding their Tacovore sign from the street) and counter seating. I tried the fish taco and carne Asada taco, and a friend enjoyed the chicken taco. With our tacos were ordered a Lime soda, which seemed just right. The fish taco was ok but the fried fish chunks, though substantial in size and sheer quantity, lacked flavor. The breading was bland. I was hoping for some cumin or Mexican seasoning. It made for a lackluster taco. The carne Asada taco was quite good. I'd go again for that one! Self-serve busser station is appreciated. read more

Tacovore is committed to providing the absolute middest mid of food and drinks imaginable. Pretty much everything, from the tacos to sides to drinks, could be good with a few tweaks. The ceviche I'm eating, for instance, needs a much smaller dice than the 3/4-1" chop it actually got, so chunky that it prevents the flavors from mixing in a palatable way. The tacos are a mashup of flavors, often including oranges, but nothing really comes through and you're left with a mush of meat. More salt, maybe? Or just simplify: put classic Mexican tacos on the menu and let the cilantro and onions shine. So it's a bit of a frustrating spot. It's lovely and the employees are great, but the food leaves me disappointed every time. Come on Tacovore! Reach for goodness! You're so close! read more

Would've loved to have given them 5 stars today but the cashier could barely pay attention to me. I got two carnitas tacos while my better half got the herbivore (butternut squash) and the carnivore special (chicken). My tacos were good but literally oozing the fat drippings. Don't get me wrong, fat kinda helps the meat stay moist and delicious, but it was gross today. A big pool in the basket. I personally think this place is a little overrated. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, and the staff is friendly, but it's really pricey for what you get. Since my first few experiences where I reviewed Tacovore in Eugene (I do like their Corvallis location, too), I revisited multiple times and concluded that my initial review needs an update. I'm indeed a fan and do enjoy their tacos. My first review indicated the tacos are overly priced, because it was at least over $3 per taco; it's now at least $5 per taco. But I still go. Why? Because the tacos are tasty. There's a variety to choose from. They're beautiful to look at. And they use decent ingredients. They've changed their tortillas over the years, and the one they currently use is moist, but durable and large enough holding the fillings well and satisfying. Old E is still my favorite, but very much like the carnitas and I have enjoyed multiple fish specials. read more

I left a review three and a half years ago, and it was with love in my heart. Today? Today was absolute garbage. I've been here no less than 50 times (no exaggeration, I eat a lot of tacos people) and today I got served a plate of char instead of carnitas. I've had carnitas tacos here for three years, so I know what to expect. I love "crispy" carnitas. That's not what I was served today. In the interest of my love for this place and understanding that stuff can get away from people sometimes, I asked a server if I could have my tacos remade. Not only was she snide, she said "well this is how we make them, so I can't promise it'll be any different." The carnitas came out not re-cooked, but merely re-plated. And, of course, just as scorched. The waitress didn't stop to see if we were okay with them -- she merely dropped them on the table and sauntered away. Did not check back or even make eye contact when dropping them off. I didn't catch her name, but she had a large butterfly tattoo on her back. I've had these tacos probably every month for three years. I think I know how they're "usually" done. Also, as a Hispanic woman, I know the difference between crispy carnitas and burnt carnitas. It's not rocket science. Really disappointed. Will probably be a long time before I come back. I don't like giving money to places that don't care. What is happening in their kitchen right now? Absolutely flavorless and SAD food. The salsa tasted like canned pasta sauce -- somehow with zero salt or lime. Their seafood special was a hamachi tostada. And I kid you not, it was just chunks of entirely unseasoned fish on a fistful of undressed/unseasoned bagged slaw -- sloppily plopped on a tostada. No sauce, no lime juice, no aioli...not even salt. We tasted it then sat there in disbelief. Finally covered the sad fish with napkins to stop the patio bugs from attacking it. Seriously, who is cooking at this place right now? I used to LOVE this place, but right now it's absolute garbage. Come for the drinks. Loved this taco shop fresh high quality ingredients 3 tacos and a beer for 20 bucks perfect I had 2 Chicken tacos superb taste most definitely better than 9 out of 10 taco joints iv walked in to . At the University of Oregon, Tacovore is a well-known spot to grab a quick bite, and I often see people on social media eating here, so I thought I would give it a go earlier this week. The inside of the restaurant is really cute, and the patio outside is great. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Taco and the Herbivore Taco, which came to a total of around 6.50. I thought this was a little pricey given the size, however the taste of the food was DELICIOUS - I could tell that the ingredients were fresh, and everything that I had was really flavorful. Oh me oh my! What a delectable experience! First the atmosphere is so unique and eclectic. All of the seating areas where big and open without feeling empty. Also the staff was so nice!
