My wife and I love this restaurant. We also love that it is only a couple miles down the road from where we live in Payson. The best part is obviously the food! Tonight I had the lamb tikka masala. It was delicious. This was my first time trying lamb. Wonderful texture and a beautiful flavor to boot. The naan and rice is out of this world. The owner is always happy to suggest a menu option. He is very nice and runs a clean and inviting restaurant. It is very clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. If you have never had Indian food and want to try it, then come here. Stopped by at this place while driving to salt lake city. They had lunch buffet with not too many options. Couple of soups, naan (indian bread), rice (pulao), 2 chicken curries, veg curries, chicken and veg appetizers. The ambience was not bad - they have both tables and booths. Good for large groups as well. The food wasn't too great for me. Not the best indian food i've had. Bread was little hard and curries were too creamy for me. This review is only for the buffet. Like i said food wasnt terrible but not something i've enjoyed personally. Overall not a bad place to stop by and eat if your passing through. read more

GREAT INDIAN FOOD! I went with a group of 7 and we ordered a bunch of different dishes and shared them all. It was soooo good! We mainly got the classics Tikka Masala with lamb, chicken coconut korma, shrimp coconut korma (better than the chicken!), Butter Chicken.... It was all so good. The servers and the owner were so nice and attentive. They were able to recommend dishes and options. We got the naan sampler which was fun but next time I would just order the naan I want because I feel like the sweet naan was a waste since I didn't want to dip that in my curries. Coming from out of town and not expecting much. We like to think our relatives live in the "boonies" out here on the mountain, so we didn't have too high of expectations for some ethnic food. BEST INDIAN FOOD IN UTAH COUNTY! I love Bombay House, and this is right there with them. Butter and Pineapple chicken are the go-to's for us! We love it and will go back often. There is a Lunch Buffett option, which we did once and were pleased with, but we often go to dinner there more than lunch. read more

As far as restaurants go for Payson they really don't have many options for higher end dining. Tadka is and has been the top place to dine for the last four to five years. It brags the amazing foods like the Bombay House in Provo but without the drive. I have never ordered anything less than tasty and amazing. I am glad the quality, flavor, and experience has never let my wife and I down. Five stars to the only place in Payson that creates an enjoyable food experience. read more

Tried the food truck they have in Eagle mountain City center for the first time. The guy who worked it was very friendly. He even gave me a free drink! I ordered the butter chicken and Tikka masala and garlic naan. It was all very yummy! It was served at just the right temperature and was just what I needed on a cold day. Indian food in Payson? Yes, it is true. This is good Indian food as well. Can we all agree that having this place in a small town is a giant blessing? The all you can eat buffet is a good choice of you wanted to try a little variety. Since it is a buffet, the dishes are very mild in order to make everyone happy. They have a good variety of dishes. Chicken, lamb, and vegetarian options as well. Soups, breads and some really good deserts like the gulab jamin and the rice pudding. The owners suggest the hottest you go is medium-hot. I think that's about perfect for both heat and flavor. I also suggest you get your dish with lamb. The price difference isn't very much. The owner and his wife (also an owner) are wonderful people. One of them is always there. The staff is also very courteous and friendly. Weekends are typically the busiest time to go here so be warned. They have some parking in the lot but if it's too full you could park west of the restaurant in the empty car park next door. They also do catering! read more

Fun place to go in Payson. The Chicken Tikka Masala is really good. I got the shrimp coconut korma also and it wasn't my favorite. It's a little hard to explain but to me, it was a little lumpy and broken up. I prefer Bombay house and it's a big step up but Tadka is closer to me and still a fun place to go. Surprise little find in the middle of our road trip. After a long day's drive through Utah, this place was delicious! Staff were very courteous. The vegetable pakora were different than I was used to - I'm used to whole pieces of veggies but this was a blend of mixed up bell pepper and onion - but totally scrumptious! This is an update for the review. I went back the following week to speak with the owner or manager who was at the food truck. He saw my review here and said he would give me two entrees if I would update my review. The two entrees were tandoori chicken and butter chicken. For both entrees, there was a correct ratio of meat to rice. First, the butter chicken. It had a very mild flavor, tender, and lots of sauce. The chicken was white meat cut into even pieces. I think this dish would be ideal for someone trying Indian food for the first time or someone who does not want spicy. Second, the tandoori chicken. It was thigh meat, cut into pieces. This is different from any other tandoori chicken I have gotten. The flavor was mild and good. The color was yellow, all other tandoori chicken I have had was a red color. This could be a regional difference. Overall, kudos to the manager for trying to make it right. For a food truck, I can see why they are cautious about the spice level and my guess is the food is pre-made at their restaurant. read more

We stopped by this place figuring in the middle of nowhere and was not expecting much. Little did we know, it's a complete gem! It's not too far off the freeway and a great stopping point while traveling. The inside was really nicely decorated with paintings, huge stuffed elephant toy and pretty much anything to make it feel like India. The owner was really nice and interested in getting to know us. He was part of Bombay House for years and left to start his own thing. So the food is really good and just as good as Bombay but this place tries harder with the little details like curling their straws. We ordered the Tikka masala, mixed appetizer plate and okra dish. All were really good and tasted authentic (compared to other restaurants which try to cater to certain palates and it ends up bland). The rice was surprisingly good too! You don't think much about it but it was sauteed and added with a little bit of cardamom. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place! read more

The last two times I've been here, the food has ranged from inedible (I had to throw away a takeout order of one of my favorite dishes because it tasted spoiled and disgusting) to undercooked with skimpy portions. I love Indian cuisine and this used to be our go-to family restaurant, but not any more. They've left items out of our takeout orders, forgot part of our order last time we dined in, and their staff doesn't wear masks properly (sometimes not at all). Okay, we Indian food and have been to about every Indian restaurant there is in Utah and Salt Lake Counties as well as out of state. Who knew that one of the very best would be in Payson? The menu is great! There is a huge variety of choices in every category. The sauces are rich and creamy, not watery or cheaply prepared. The chicken and lamb dishes featured meat that was very tender. I love mango lassies and theirs are thick and creamy and spiced. The atmosphere was comfortable and neither too casual nor too upscale. The service was very prompt and attentive. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. Even though we live about an hour away from this location, I am sure we will be back.
