My colleague and I were driving back from a work trip towards the SLC airport and we stopped in at Govinda's. Each items on their buffet was wholesome AND delicious. Understand and accept a) that it's a vegetarian buffet, b) you can get a completely balanced meal with all the protein and nutrients you need, and c) you don't have to be Hare Krishna to enjoy their buffet. We showed up there at about 5 PM. The people working there were very nice and welcoming. I recommend the halvah--which is a wheat-based dessert dish. It was sweet and delicious with a pleasant thick texture (like clumpier cream-of-wheat). Everything in their salad bar looked so fresh, and they put out some honeydew that they told me they grew there. I thought I'd give it a try, though I dislike honeydew in general--but the color was so vibrant and it looked juicy. It was unlike any honeydew I've ever tasted; the grocery store honeydew is trash compared to what they were serving. It literally tasted like honey. It was a small but varied buffet. The mung bean soup was bright and tangy--so good. There was something that was either pan-fried yucca or sweet potato; whatever it was was starchy but kind of sweet. I kept going back to the halvah. Outside there were llamas, peacocks, trees, parrots, a koi pond. The people working there welcomed us to walk around, hang out, visit their service (which started at 6, but we declined), to do whatever we wanted to relax. We came for the temple and got some food! Yummy authentic Indian food. All the spices and every flavor you could imagine. You cold smell it first. It was like a feast for all your senses! Everyone was so kind and helpful and willing. We will be going back for sure. read more

Five stars for a cultural experience and an introduction to Hinduism and their Supreme God Krishna. ‍ How often can you visit a temple in Utah County and eat in their cafeteria without needing a temple recommend? Food selection is 3 stars if you are vegan, zero stars if you're looking for protein. Serve yourself humbly buffet style but the staff are super peaceful and friendly. They close early so getting there by 5:15 pm is recommended so you can check out the temple upstairs after dinner. read more

At first we thought we got lost, because it does not look like business area, just a nice temple. Buffet is located in side the gift shop. It is very small but decent flavor. $10 per adult and $5 for kids. People are very friendly inside. Since it is a buffet within the temple, noise level is very low. Great restaurant. Came here with my friend and the lady charged us $10 for a Buffett. It's a really cool temple at the top of the hill with amazing views. The front-desk lady was really friendly. They have some religious ceremonies at the top that can you participate in. Apparently all the vegetables are grown locally on the property. Friendly service and delicious food! My husband and I have been meaning to eat here for a while and we are so glad that we did. The lunch buffet is only $10/ adult and is delicious. We saw people walking llamas as we pulled up to the temple. There were two beautiful parrots inside. They were asking people to wash hands before going to the buffet which I appreciated. There was a good assortment of food. I believe one of the dishes was curried daal and another was Chana masala. There was a delicious sweet dessert that was kind of like a bread pudding with dried cherries. We really enjoyed it and will be returning soon. read more

Wonderful setting. Located inside a very sacred Krishna Temple. Food prepared with love, devotion, generosity, and abundance. Very healing for the mind and soul. I love Govinda's! I first tried their food in Eugene Oregon, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw another one was so close to my new home town. It's $10 for all you can eat, and the woman running the restaurant came and gave us some delicious bread to try on top of our meals! All three of us loved our meals. $10 vegan buffet, need I say more? In the bottom of the Krishna temple, surrounded by mountains and alpacas (or llamas?) with light streaming in, this place is the best way to get full on a meatless stomach in Utah county, possibly the whole state. read more

Not a fan of all veggie dishes... And yet they claim to be vegetarian but they have these wanna be be tasting weird nuggets of fake meat in each of their dishes it's so funny to me that these tree huggers vegetarians and vegans are against meat but they want a taste just like meat... I could never understand these type of people ever...it's laughable to me ...if you hate something so bad why do you try to mimic what we as carnivores eat? seriously think about it? They had cheap paper plates that made the food like not even staying on the plate... it was weird ...had to use the bowls and plastic spoons and forks and some old lady there came in complaining about the food about the music the employees and what they're doing wrong.. she's just not a very nice person I don't know who she is a manager or what? but when she had the nerve to come to my table and argue with me about religion and how her Indian temple is the great and only and there is a God there... She was all defensive and argumentative and I was just trying to enjoy my lousy vegetarian food lol why would I want to be a part of your religion when you're so negative and unhappy if your religion was right wouldn't you be a happy pleasant person? The food here is amazing. It is so fresh and flavorful. You can eat as much as you'd like and prices are extremely fair. During the week it is $8 for adults and $4 for kids. After Sunday service, it is $3. There is salad, lots of vegetables, rice, and several main dishes. This is my favorite place for vegetarian offerings.
