We had dinner at Mumbai House in Park City and overall had a good experience. We were seated on the patio, which is beautiful, although it was an especially windy day. The red curtains outside looked nice, but they kept blowing into our table while we were eating. Once they were tied back, they still flapped around quite a bit and unfortunately blocked much of the mountain view. The patio chairs are also metal and not the most comfortable--I ended up using my jacket as a cushion. We started with the vegetable samosas, and they were excellent. They came with two different chutneys, both of which were delicious. For our entrées, we ordered an eggplant dish with rice and onion naan. The flavors were wonderful, and the medium spice level was just right--enough heat to be interesting without overwhelming the dish. The only downside was that both the eggplant and the naan were much oilier than I prefer. In hindsight, I would ask for the naan without butter next time, as the richness was a bit much for me. The wine list was fairly limited. I sampled a couple before settling on a Burgundy Pinot Noir, which was enjoyable but felt overpriced at $20 for a relatively small pour. The service was friendly, but it felt a little disjointed. Several different people stopped by our table throughout the meal, and while everyone was attentive, the frequent interruptions made the experience feel a bit less relaxed. Overall, the food was flavorful and enjoyable, and I would happily eat here again if I were in the area. If I could give this place 6 stars I would! It's a summer Monday night, and things just aren't too busy in Park City. We got seated right away. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They suggested appropriate spice levels for my husband and myself. Let me tell you though, if I could only choose one kind of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be Indian food. Having eaten at Mumbai House in SLC (formerly Bombay House) we had pretty solid expectations that were blown out of the water. Like it was THAT good. I had the butter chicken medium spice and hubs had the chicken tikka masala hot spice. His was a little spicy for me, but as a pasty white girl it doesn't take much. My medium spice was perfect. Enough of a burn to taste delicious without taking off my taste buds. The garlic butter naan was perfection. Crisp and flavorful. Went for dinner on a weeknight for the first time. Parked at a local garage. Ample seating at the restaurant both inside and out. We arrived early but when we left it was packed with the patio full! Service was prompt and friendly. We were seated in a comfortable booth. Food comes out super fast - so if you want it paced, order that way or ask them to pace it. We had the appetizer sampler (came with one sweet and one savory sauce) which was solid and generous (samosas huge). For the main course we ordered the butter shrimp upon the recommendation of our server which was decision, the tikki masala chicken was was very good, and the saag paneer which is always a go to and here it was very good. Spice level we said medium to mild - and all dishes were appropriately spicy (some places don't fine tune spice level well - this place absolutely did). Those who wanted more heat got some sauce on the side. We all had ample servings of rice to go with the proteins. And we also had an order of the onion naan which was absolutely delicious (best onion naan I've ever had) - full of chopped onions and spices. Mumbai House has tons of stellar reviews, so we had to try it while we were in Park City. It's definitely not your typical Park City restaurant, which made it an interesting spot to check out. They don't take reservations, but you can put your name on a waitlist before you arrive if the online waitlist is open. Walk-ins are welcome, but expect a wait during peak hours. We went on a Saturday night and were told about 35 minutes, which ended up being pretty accurate. Once we were seated we ordered right away. The food did take a little while to come out, but the restaurant was very busy so it was understandable. Service wasn't overly warm and we did feel a bit forgotten for a while, but the food made up for it. We started with the samosas which were huge and packed with flavor, served with two chutneys. We also had the Mango Blue Moon beer which was surprisingly really good. For mains we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken. Both were incredible. The portions were generous with lots of tender chicken and the sauces were unreal. Rich, layered flavors that paired perfectly with the rice. You can quickly see why this place has thousands of five star reviews. We also ordered the garlic naan which was delicious. Fluffy, flavorful, and perfect for dipping into the sauces. They were also able to split the bill by individual or couple, though they forgot to bring us to go boxes afterward. Blue Moon Mango ($10): I am not usually a beer drinker, but this one was not bad. The subtle mango flavor helped balance out the beer taste. Lamb Briyani ($26.95): Basmati rice cooked with lamb, onions, garlic, ginger, cashew nuts, raisins, and spices, served with a side of raita. The bowl looked small at first, but the portion was actually very generous. We had leftovers, and I ended up eating this over three breakfast meals. There was a good amount of lamb, but the dish overall was very dry, including the basmati rice. The flavors were just okay, and I found myself relying on the raita to add moisture and flavor. My friend tried it and did not enjoy it either, even though she loved her own dish. In my opinion, this is the best Indian cuisine you can get in Utah--and I've tried them all. Our server, Arsh, was fantastic: kind, professional, and full of excellent recommendations. My wife ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, while I went with his suggestion of Chicken Makhani (butter chicken). We both ended up preferring the butter chicken--absolutely outstanding. Since they don't take reservation, we walk-in shortly before 6pm and were seated right away and the restaurant was about 80% full already! Food was flavorful and service was okay. I really like the Mumbai Lime drink with a hint of spice and very refreshing. For starter we tried the Vegetable Pakora which was not bad. I am a fan of Biryani and ordered that with Chicken, it was very flavorful and meat was tender. Hubby got the tasty Shrimp Curry. Mumbai House is a great, small-ish restaurant on the edge of Main Street. Service was prompt, helpful and gave good recommendations. We started with the papadam, then moved straight into entrees. Butter chicken (Makhani) was tremendous and Lamb Boti Masala was a great recommendation. The naan was some of the lightest, best I've ever had. We like heat and asked for Hot and Very Hot. I don't think they believed us and turned it down. We had to ask for more and they brought something to the table to add. I was blown away by the food at Mumbai House. Everything was delicious, and every dish had a slightly different flavor profile than what I was typically used to - which gave it a nice unique twist. We ordered the lamb biryani, butter, saag paneer and Mumbai chicken. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd probably be the Mumbai chicken - it tasted a mix between a chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. We also ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Tandoori Chicken to go because of how pleased we were with our meal (which were both delicious, even reheated!) The staff were also extremely welcoming and nice - they dropped by multiple times to ensure we were having a good time and were very happy to see us enjoying our food. I'd strongly recommend Mumbai House to anyone visiting Park City or anyone in the area. The good: I hadn't had Indian food in a long time but when I tried the food here I instantly thought "man! I've been missing out!" The food was stupendous. I easily scarfed down my meal. Our friends said they frequently ordered out from this place and that it was consistently good. I had a coconut shrimp kurma dish and a Mumbai chicken masala dish that were both excellent in flavor. I liked that I could adjust the spice (I made the shrimp mild so my toddlers could eat). I also tried the naan. We had outdoor seating so the kids could run around. The service was good. I like how they fancied up the exterior dining areas with curtains to give it a more elevated feel. Their patio's dog-friendly. I'm excited to share my new favorite Indian restaurant in Utah: Mumbai House. My wife and I were in Park City for the evening, and after much research, we decided to give this place a try. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! We started with one of our favorite appetizers, samosas. As expected, they were served with mint chutney and tamarind chutney. The mint chutney was bursting with flavor, and I loved how well-seasoned it was. The tamarind chutney stole my heart with its thicker texture compared to other restaurants in the state. The samosas were perfectly crispy on the outside and full of delicious flavor. For our main course, we shared a medium-spice chicken tikka masala. The sauce was rich, and the chicken was juicy and tender. It paired wonderfully with the other star of the show: the Naan bread, especially the onion naan. What a game changer! We love garlic naan--which we ordered--but the onion naan was truly special. The staff at Mumbai House are incredibly attentive and friendly.
