Took a coworker to Tadka he never had Indian Food before. The place was cozy but the service was a bit slow. Food came out prior to our drink order. We started with samosas but they were different than I was use to, not bad just different. For dinner I ordered a couple of dishes to share. Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tika Masala, Dahl Makhani & Paneer. All was good and tasted excellent. They seemed to do a lot of takeout business which could explain the slow wait staff as she pulled double duty. I will go back next time in Toronto. read more

Tasty. Really impressed. Randomly came to this place just looking for some Indian food with a friend. Don't really find ourselves in that area too often but the food was utterly delicious. The veg pakoras were really good, so was the dhal, tandoori chicken and chicken vindaloo. The service was a little so-so but the food was good enough that it didn't really matter in the big picture. I loved that the vindaloo was the perfect level of spice, hot but not overpowering. Totally recommend it if you're looking for some flavourful Indian food near the Queensway. read more

It was a rainy, unpleasant night and we were in the mood for something warm and comforting, and what's more warm and comforting than Indian food? A quick perusal of a food-delivery app led me to Tadka, so we began looking through their menu and wound up ordering three things: Veggie Samosas ("Fried pastries filled with potato, green peas, and cumin seeds"): I do love samosas and these were exactly what I was craving. They were nice and crispy on the outside, and the filling was as flavorful as you'd expect. The two included sauces were perfect, too. (And props to the restaurant for giving us three instead of the advertised two. It was definitely a nice, welcome surprise.) Lamb Biryani: This was the big winner of the night. The rice was well cooked and very flavorful, while the plentiful chunks of lamb were quite tender (if a little on the bland side). I could've happily eaten double the amount we got (and we got a sizable portion). Daal Makhani ("Black lentils and beans, cooked in a rich creamy sauce"): A solid variation on this venerable dish. On its own, it might've been just a little one-note (i.e. the depth of flavor wasn't terribly extensive) but it was seriously elevated when eaten with that biryani. You would not think much about this place as you walk on by, but this place has one of the best Indian food in the city! The garlic naan is full of flavour. The vindaloo is a little on the spicy side but the chicken masala is just perfection. Do order the mango juice to help you cool down. read more

Been here recently for some Indian food. This place has lots of good reviews and we were in the area so decided to give it a try! Great taste and freshness. We had Garlic Naan, Lacchha paratha, Malai Kofta and Some paneer starter. Paneer was really good, everything was tasty. Our experience was that we got the table as soon as we walked-in but we had to wait for like 40+ mins for the food to arrive. I hope they make some effort to fix this. Other than that it was good! so went there last week, ordered wings and chicken pakora. buddy wouldn't let me eat in even though I was there at 11 and absolutely no one was there. group on states takeout but come on. looosen up. wings were fine. but the onions werent fried as usual. pakora was fine, little more crispy needed. Anyone looking for amazing Indian food, found this gem: "Tadka - sizzling Indian spices, 666 the Queensway " Was looking for a new Indian food restaurant as we usually go to feast of dilli on brownsline but they have had really weird hours lately and when we have gone recently the service has became extremely slow. googled this place for my moms birthday they had very good reviews and they did not disappoint! we had a table of eight people + my one year old daughter and they were super accommodating when we got there the Papadum were already out on the table with three dipping sauces on nice wooden blocks. The server was extremely welcoming and friendly. we all ordered a bunch of appetizers which were all delicious and ready superfast and ordered our mains as well, the food was super fresh, hot and delicious the service was absolutely amazing and when it came time for dessert I told them it was my mom's birthday and they brought out this delicious dish on the house and played happy birthday over The loudspeaker for my mom without me even requesting that. absolutely blown away by the service and food and will definitely be back and definitely recommend this place to anybody who loves Indian food also the chefs were very professional with aprons and hats on which is always nice to see! This place has only been open for five months but I felt I had to share my yelp review due to the amazing experience we all had!
