The job was completed and the roof looks great and the job was done on time without any additional costs even though they had to replace several boards due to termite damage. Hector and his crew did a great job with the roof! Our roof had leaks in several areas over the garage. There was an area that was sagging from all the rain we had this year. There were other areas with damaged wood that we did not know about, until the crew took the old shingles off. We also had a beam on the inside of the garage that was not attached to the roof. I asked Hector if they can fix all these problems, and they sure fixed them! These guys came out and finished the job in 3 days! They also were very careful about not leaving any debris. I did find a few small pieces of old shingle (very likely to happen) and Monster cans (the guys have to stay awake on the roof, right?!) in the bushes afterwards, but not a problem at all. They were easy to miss by the clean-up person. They also gave us a very reasonable quote (under 8K). We had the composite shingles put in, so it costs less than the other types of roofing material. The price also included the permit from the city. Everything was done by the book, so we are very happy that the city approved and we know it was done right. Hector and his crew came on time, were professional, and very efficient. It was a little difficult to get a hold of him at first, but we kept trying, and he responded. Once Hector is in contact with you, he will stay in contact until the job is done. These guys worked very hard and did a great job in a short amount of time. With March rain, we discovered moderate amount of water leak from the ceiling and I needed a roofer to figure out where the leak is coming from so I can get it fixed before another rain hit. I called 2 roofers before Taf Roofing and one made an appointment with me for a week after and never showed up or never got back to me on the phone. One showed up a week after that, but didn't even come inside the gate and said, "We don't deal with town houses, you need to call HOA." and left even though I specifically mentioned that it's a townhouse/condo when I made an appointment. So now 2 weeks passed by and I contacted Taf Roofing for help. Hector came within a few days and discovered that there were multiple cracks at the corner of wall and the flat part of the ceiling. He was going to fix it right there and then for us but since he didn't have all the equipment he needed, he came back the next day and fixed it within 30 min. Shingles blew off my roof in a storm, water poured into my house and collapsed the ceiling in my dining room. I learned how important having a roof is after drywall, insulation, antenna wiring and whatever other filth was in the attic fell in a layer 3 inches thick in my dining room and kitchen. My insurance agreed to pay for a new roof so I got several estimates. All the contractors I contacted were professional but Taf Roofing was reasonably priced and Hector was easy to contact and work with. My roof was put up in about a day and a half. After they were finished my property was left clean and I have the nicest looking roof in the neighborhood by far. I could not be more pleased with the entire process. I give Taf Roofing my highest recommendation. I called several roofing companies for quotes on a new asphalt roof. I needed a roof fast cause I had just closed escrow and my insurance would not cover the house with the age and condition of the current roof. After meeting with 5 roofers I felt most comfortable with Hector the owner of Taf. They've been in business many years, his price was second to the least expensive, and he really spent the time explaining all that he would do and what might need to be done to the under-roof. I chose Taf for those 3 reasons. I explained my urgency with the work and although he was booked, he managed to squeeze me in. The day of the job his team was on time and there was about 10 workers crawling all over my roof and getting stuff done. They were super efficient. I liked that they swept the drive and swept my neighbors drive where the roofing materials had littered. These guys were on point! A couple of days after the job was finished. I noticed a small plank that was cracked. It was near my outdoor pergola roof. so I hadn't noticed it before. I texted Hector and told him about the damage. and he said no prob, and that he would get it fixed. 2 days later I went to show a friend the damaged area so he could give me some advice. Their price is great for roofs that have been up dated every 20-30 years. If your roof needs a lot of work don't go with them use someone that will replace everything. They will replace only what's damaged and make sure you keep your eye on how many plywood they replace because they can charge you for extra wood. Other than that they are very fast. I think this company is very inconsiderate to say the least. We had agreed on a date to start our roof replaced months ago. Of course we didn't consult any other companies anymore. When the day came, they never showed up. They could not be reached in any of their numbers. We've left like hundreds of messages and no reply ,no explanation of what happened. This review is LONG overdue. We used Taf Roofing a couple of years ago and truly had the best experience you can possibly have putting a roof on your house...which is such a pain. They actually made an ugly project a decent experience. That said, Hector and his team are really GREAT to work with. My parents had the roof done by Hector and crew and they were satisfied with the job so I had them come to my house in So. California and had them replace the roof with a full tear off They came over on the weekend and did the work Friday, Saturday and completed on Sunday afternoon. I came over Saturday to look at the progress as I was in Riverside California, I noticed that they didn't replace some of the wood cross members that they had broken while doing the tear off. I informed Hector and his crew fixed it which was great.I noticed that my push broom was missing from my garage so I informed Hector and of course he said no one from his crew took it. I didn't pay attention to my Skylight and then last year we had a large amount of rain and the Skylight was leaking inside my house so I informed Hector he came out with his crew and looked at the roof. I noticed that the Skylight have been compromised while doing the roof tear off. Hector acknowledge this and placed some black crack filler on multiple cracks in the clear skylight which makes it look ugly now. Hector said he would come back and replace the skylight. Its been months now and I haven't heard anything from him. I've emailed him, called him and text message him with no response. If I want it fixed, it looks like I'll have to do the work. Hector came out to give me an estimate to fix a roof leak at my (disabled) mother's house. After going on the roof and inspecting the leak he said he would email me the estimate that day (2 days ago). He did however give me a verbal "ballpark" of $900. Unfortunately, it has since rained heavily. After several calls (to both phone numbers on the card) and voicemails I was finally able to get Hector to answer his phone. He said he was too busy to send me the estimate and to call someone else. I did. I called RC Roofing @ 562-923-1632 (located in Downey). Richard came right out and fixed the leak in a matter of minutes. He charged me $50! If you're looking for great customer service at an affordable price, these aren't the guys for you. When I told Hector that I was going to give him a Yelp review, his response was "Go ahead and do what you have to do... It's not my problem". Very disappointed with Taf Roofing. Response to Hector's response: You came out on 1/10/17. After you didn't send the estimate or return my calls, I called RC on 1/11/17. They came out same day and fixed it. I checked the roof leak today (1/12) and it is no longer leaking. It's pooring rain today and you still havent sent me the estimate or returned my calls. You didnt care that if RC hadn't come out and fixed the roof we would be flooded out right now. So I called you again today (1/12/17) and you said to call someone else. Taf roofing just completed a complete tear off and re-do of my mostly flat asphalt roof (with a small pitched shingle part). My house is connected to the neighbors so the neighbor also hired Taf to do their flat asphalt redo at the same time Pros: -Cheapest of the 4 quotes I received -Available for Contact through text -Finished both houses in 2 days -Came back last minute one evening to put a tarp on roof in case of rain -Professional, typed up and detailed estimate given -Hector is friendly and was quick to come out for estimate back in August -Hector helped coordinate with the Skylight guy on the day of installation of roof and skylight Cons: -Job pushed back 3 times from original start date (with little warning from Taf about change of date) -Lots of nails were found after in yard, street and garage. Many neighbors complained and I was scared to let me toddler run around for a couple days till I found all the nails. -Broken fan in bathroom with no response from Taf after i text him regarding it -Not interested in helping with skylights so we had to hire a separate Skylight person. Most people we have talked to say Roofers are usually good people to install skylights -Maybe I just didn't know how messy getting a roof done would be and that's my fault...but we had dust and debris falling in from all interior fans (kitchen and bathrooms) after and wish we had been warned. Our toilets were covered in filth during the process (guessing this is because we have a flat roof). A little costumer service of warning us would have been nice. We got about 2,000 square ft of roofing done with partial Low- e therma sheet barrier, installation of ridge vent, removal of double layer roof, and timberline HD shingles for $8,300.
