I am a 94-year-old male adult who believed himself to be in reasonable health for his age. I was visiting family at Donner Lake when I found myself short of breath and the left arm swollen beyond normal. My son drove me to TFH. I entered the emergency room and was immediately seated at the in-take desk. There were two other patients seated in the ER waiting area. My information was recorded quickly and efficiently. I was seated in the waiting area for about 5 minutes before being called to go to the treatment area. The staff helped me get to bed in the ER and shortly I was examined by Dr. Amy Little. We described all my symptoms and she ordered tests. About 20 minutes later she returned and very comprehensively explained that I had problems more serious than I had thought. More exams were ordered and treatment was initiated. Dr. Nicolas Vargas performed a thoracentesis on my left lung cavity and removed 1.15 liters of fluid I did not know was there. This was done in the ER with no pain at all. Dr. Haven Ritchie recommended I be admitted for an overnight stay to make sure there would be no complications from the procedure. She also carefuly outlined other issues about which she had concern in terms that I could understand. By late afternoon I was transferred to a room on the second floor. I was received by Nurse Anne and made most comfortable. I remained in the hospital for another day and a half while they were making sure it was safe for me to travel by air to my home in Arizona. During this time, I was being cared for by Dr. David Richie and Dr. Ann Little. At no time was I left I the dark about my condition. Nurse Anne was extremely attentive and there was nothing I needed that she did not supply immediately. She was the day nurse. I received the same quality care from the night nurse, Amy. I must mention that the quality of the food was excellent. It was more than I could eat and the nurses were very good to me, they allowed me to leave food on my plate. By the third day they had me up and walking in the hall. I was deemed eligible for discharge. The discharge activity was conducted very efficiently. I suffered a concussion at work and had to go through a long process with workers comp to get approved for physical therapy. When I finally did get approved I called incline therapy and left a message, after a few back and forth messages I was able to get a hold of someone there to try to schedule. They told me they were full for weeks even though the offered me an appointment the following week which was confusing. With someone in pain and just wanting to get help I felt the back and forth debate and having the owner laugh at me was disgusting. As much as I need the help I would never go there. Such a lack of compassion and professionalism. I don't think anyone should have to defend themselves and put themselves through a debate for help.

Taum has online courses as well as this class I took today with other body workers from the local area. Taum gave us prep homework and lots of hands on practice doing visceral work. He also does private sessions at Synergy. Taum has worked on everyone from the 49'rs to the Green Berets in North Carolina to Mennonites. The Synergy building is large with lots of free parking. The bathrooms were nice and had both the industrial soap dispensers as well as separate push bottles of more natural soap choices.

Dr. Tim was incredibly kind, thorough, and generous with his time. He didn't just focus on the immediate neck pain -- he took a deep dive into my history of injuries, mobility, and overall fitness goals. His approach felt truly holistic. After some time resting with CBD cream and a heating pad, he came back in and delivered what I can only describe as a "bomber" adjustment. The relief was so immediate and powerful I actually teared up. I told him, "I feel like I should give you a hug." With the calm confidence of someone who is one part Kurt Russell and one part martial arts sensei, he said, "Well, that's okay," and gave me a good‑natured embrace. I purchased several non refundable ski tickets and could barely sit, stand, walk or bend over without a shot of sharp, intense nerve pain but knew if I could see a chiropractor I could at least get my kids to the slopes and watch them. As it was, I could not tolerate sitting or standing for long. After calling every chiropractor in the bay area, I discovered no one is open on a Sun. It felt like a miracle when I found Dr. Dave on Yelp in Truckee, where we are staying. Not only was he open on Sunday, but he was extremely responsive, works until 8 pm and he works on holidays. We texted, and scheduled a very last min appointment for 7:30 on a Sun night. He even had guests over! I felt so bad intruding, but he was kind and welcoming. My pain decreased right away. I saw him Mon morning as well, before heading to slopes, and let's just say, I got to ski a half day with zero pain!
