I've always been very skeptical about chiropractors in general, as I've heard about some pretty bad experiences. However, time and time again friends and co-workers referred me to Dr. Taiga, as a man who can work wonders. It wasn't until I had exhausted all the medications, doctor visits, MRI/scans, maneuvers and homeopathic remedies at my disposal that I had nothing left but to "try" seeing a chiropractor aka Dr. Taiga. For almost 3 months I had non-stop vertigo and constant nausea. It affected every part of my life and was so uncomfortable to life with. Besides the fact that the western-medical world seemed to have nothing to alleviate or explain my symptoms, the frustrating and confusing part was that my symptoms were so incredibly specific. I was having nausea and dizziness constantly, but they ramped up in severity at a specific time of day, every day like clock work. It was so predictable, I thought it also might have been mentally self-induced!! When I went to meet Dr. Taiga, it was unlike any other medical intake/examination appointment I had had before. While some of it may have been foreign and at times uncomfortable, (a full body intake means a FULL body intake), I came to understand that what he was doing was absolutely necessary to understand the whole picture of past and current Sx. I don't want to make him sound like a fortune teller. What I believe is that he is an individual so skilled in his knowledge and craft of body manipulation, that he can notice and feel the most minute differences in your bones and body, which allows him to make pretty darn accurate assumptions about what your body has been through. (i.e. How did he know I sprained my ankle several times when I was young? Or that I broke my left wrist many years ago? or that I turn my head frequently in one direction all day? or the height of my computer monitor??) None of that was disclosed to him prior to the appointment, he just felt my body and knew the history of it. During the appointment he did his ministrations and diagnostics, which honestly felt like nothing much (which is why I'm still amazed at how he knew exactly what to do to help me). But then after the examination, he brought out a chart and explained to me where my symptoms were coming from and why they were presenting themselves at only certain times of the day--because it was those particular vertebrae that were out of alignment. He then did his manipulations on my neck, head, and spine (cracking, pushing, pressure, etc), not painful at all. After he did that he paused and asked about another area of my body where he found some misalignment, but which I had not told him about. I had had chest pain for at least a month and knew it wasn't heart-related, but couldn't figure out what to do with it. He pushed back one of my ribs that was out of place (uhm, how did I not know that? lol), and then told me how long until I could expect to be symptom free from both the chest-pain and nausea--but that if I didn't, to come back to see him for further treatment. Besides getting some helpful answers, I wasn't too hopeful that my symptoms would go away, or go away for long as I had had them for months already. But lo and behold, within that estimated time-frame all, ALL my symptoms were gone!!! I can't tell you what a relief it was to not have vertigo or nausea and to be my clear-headed self again. TLDR: Not all chiropractors are created equally, and Dr. Taiga really really knows his stuff. My first review was 3 years ago. And I'm still consistently receiving treatment on a weekly basis. Maintenance is so important for me that I was willing to continue all through the 2020 pandemic year. I was comfortable to continue as I observed Dr. Taiga always washing his hands prior and after each session, wearing a surgical mask constantly and encouraging all patients to bring their own sheet/beach towel to lie on. My daughter highly recommended Dr. Taiga after she had gone to see him and he had treated her. So, when my husband and I went to visit her last month, we decided to give him a try. We were very glad we did. Dr. Taiga gave us adjustments that helped us feel so much straighter and better, and more. I noticed the difference after the first visit, however, I was rather skeptical since my orthopedic told me over 20 years ago to not let any chiropractor touch my back. I took a chance and allowed Dr. Taiga to work on me after I had informed him of my concerns and the condition of my back so he would be totally aware. After the first visit I commented to my husband that I felt different than when I went in. And I admitted that it was "in a good way." Somehow I felt BETTER! I couldn't explain it. Also, my back did not feel any ill-effect from the manipulations or adjustments he performed. On top of that, the two middle toes on my right foot did not hurt any more and I could walk without pain on that foot. (I didn't tell him about the toes problem. His fixing me fixed them.) My neck and shoulders also felt less stiff after he worked on them. On the second visit I mentioned to him that my left knee was giving me trouble--like pain when I would go up and down the stairs. To this, Dr. Taiga pushed the side of that knee and told me to go try walking up and down the stairs next to his office. I tried it and it felt easier to do, but still had some slight pain which I reported to him. So he did more fixing--fine-tuning adjustments, and let me go back to the stairs again. This time I had no pain on that knee. I could go up and down the stairs like a normal person without holding on to the railing or wincing. It was incredible! I could hardly believe myself! So, to make sure, I went up and down the stairs 3 more times. I'm so grateful to Dr. Taiga!!!! I wish we lived closer to his office so I could come see him more often. Now I know there is hope for me to get well and stay well, without solely relying on pain pills and surgeries to fix some of the things chiropractic care can easily correct or fix. Because my girlfriend had a sudden low back pain that made her unable to run, and she had difficulty walking, I brought her to Taiga Suzuki D.C. While he carefully examined her low back, he told us that she sprain/strained sacroiliac joint, and it became unstable, moving too much. After 15 minutes of examination and adjusting, Taiga said, "Go ahead, walk around." My girlfriend got up from the massage table, and walked around saying, "its not hurting that much anymore". He told us that it would take 2-3 days for inflammation to go down after the adjustment, and to put ice pack for 10-15 minutes every 2 hours for 2 days, and she might feel tired later for few days. During the 2 days before the 2nd visit, she reported that she had deep sleep, and felt tired all days. We came back on 3 days later, and it was her second visit. At this point the pain on her low back was almost gone. Taiga took maybe 10 minutes this time, and said, "Your low back is fine, no need for adjustment, but need little release on muscles here and there to have more balanced body. " What he did was not the same as the first visit. After 2 visits to Taiga Suzuki D.C, my girl friend had 8/10 pain to 0/10 pain in a week. Soon after 2nd visit, she referred her friend to him. One of girls had left knee pain which made her difficult to run. After the first visit, she had less pain on her knee and advised not to run till next visit. After 2nd visit, she told us that she was able to run again with pain free. She was told that she might need to get checked 1-2 months later but she was not forced to make an appointment and come back. I was not in pain, but also checked by him. Every time i saw him, i felt so relaxed, and tired the next day. Taiga explained that this is one of signs of toxins that build up in muscles are being released to get out of the system.
