Unbeatable view of the gorgeous Rainbow Beach with easy parking and beach access. Went back and forth all day from the bar to the beach and had an all around fantastic day. Maybe skip the cornhole boards... they'll drive you insane! We're decent players and could barely score a point. Maybe it was the rum... Today we picked up "to go" and Natalie greets with a smile and rings you up-always patient and happy to see you. All the staff there have been a pleasure to work with. Most of the food is on array behind a glass wall when you enter the to go section in front of the restaurant. It's all clean and the staff (from what I have seen) support each other to take care of you. When the parking lot gets full-you can park across the street. Photos of the dinner we picked up are below and a picture says a thousand words. We bought this dinner (and a few other items that don't photograph well) for under $60 plus tip. There are not many places that can feed four a terrific dinner for that amount of $'s!! Everything is not for everyone-this has been our experience and we hope it is yours. El Sol Bar & Restaurant is a what many locals refer to as a "Santo Bar" or establishment run by Dominicanas (ex-pats from the island of Santo Domingo). This gem is located off the beaten path to most and I would never expect a tourist or visitor to find it on their own. Quickest way to it is to travel EAST, past Sunny Isles on Centerline Road. When you the Sion Farm Traffic Light, make a RIGHT and drive SOUTH. Look for it on your LEFT on the side of the road. El Sol has parking lots on either side of it & also street parking (if it gets that crowded). There are 3 sections to this establishment: * There is an exterior walk-up order area where you can see the food available for the day in the windows. You then point to what you want and they bring it to the cashier for you to pay. * Alternatively, there's also an interior bar where you can order drinks and food as well. A music jukebox and TVs keep you company while you wait for your orders. * Lastly, there's an interior seating area that is spacious and good for groups. Because it is isolated by a door, it makes for more private dining. El Sol has an extensive menu and it is comprised of pork, beef, chicken, fish, conch, many starches & provisions and a few veggies. I recommend their chicharrones (fried chicken), stew fish, porter house steak, their conch and fish. Please keep in mind the times that you visit while ordering food. Sometimes you may find one of their food options in a tray almost empty. When this happens, ask them if they are going to refill it and how long that may take. This will give you an opportunity for the freshest food selection. If you're in a rush, I recommend Calling-In your order ahead of time to confirm order availability. Overall, I recommend El Sol Bar & Restaurant and Ive enjoyed eating here over the years. I've been a patron for many years and years to come.

My steak was cooked to perfection and was not over-seasoned. Exactly how I would want a steak. Was so good. Potatoes great as well. Had good lumps with excellent flavor. Same for asparagus. Crab cakes were great as well. They just need to work on their customer service instead of acting like customers were bothering them. I understand that they get drunk and vacation travelers, but we were a super friendly bunch and easy going. Frustrating when the staff set the tone of the experience. Food game is on point here. Previously, upon hearing recommendations from local friends and from Lyric Sails (which included a discount), we booked a reservation for 6 people at restaurant "Six Nine". After the sail, we approached Six Nine for our confirmed reservation at 7:30 to find the restaurant closed. We scurried around town to end up eating tacos at a crowded bar. Very embarrassing! A bad experience that could have been mitigated by rejecting the reservation so that we could find another restaurant or at least informing me when the restaurant decided not to open.
