Tail Wagger is excellent for pet care! My husband and I have had Lanette coming to check in on our kitty while we're away for 6 years now. Lanette is so great. She obviously loves animals, takes great care of our cat, and is so professional. I love that she always takes photos of our kitty when she does a visit. It's so great to get to see him doing well when we're away from him. Lanette gets to know his personality and habits so she can best care for him. And, on top of the pet care, she'll even check mail, water plants, turn lights on/off, and in general take care of house needs while we're away. We've been so happy with Tail Wagger Pet Care! I don't usually give poor reviews and I do feel bad about this, but my experience with this company was not great. I called Lynette first in May 2015 to inquire about boarding my dog for a trip planned in October. Lynette was nice and gave me the information I needed. I was excited to use her as I liked the idea of my dog being in a "home" setting as opposed to a loud kennel. I also thought the price was reasonable (compared to Wag Hotel, which I have used in the past). Lynette told me to call back again closer to my trip, as it was too early to do a meet and greet. I called Lynette again at the end of July. Again, she told me it was too early for me to bring my dog to her place to check it out. I expressed my concern about waiting too long, in case she does not accept my dog, or gets booked up. She said that October is not a very busy month, and booking me for my dates would be no problem. She even said she'd "pencil in" my dates. She told me to call again in September to set up a date to come over. I called her on August 31 to see if I could come by this or next weekend. Lynette called me back and told me that her "regular clients" had already booked up my dates in October. She said that she is a small operation and can only accommodate a few dogs. She said that regular clients get preference over new clients. She was very sweet and apologetic, but I still felt very frustrated by the turn of events. I understand wanting to treat your regular clients well, but Lynette shouldn't have made me feel so confident that she would be able to accommodate me if this wasn't true. I also don't understand her business model-- if a new client wants to book MONTHS in advance, shouldn't that get preference over regular clients who booked later? I am giving 2 stars because she at least called me back and was apologetic. I have since booked at a different place (which ended up being cheaper, so there's that, I guess). I'm sorry this didn't work out because it seemed like a great fit for my dog. read more

When I'm away, Lanette gives me the peace of mind knowing my kitties are being well taken care of. She's been taking care of them for over 10 years!! She feed and play with them as well as clean out the litter box. With each visit, I receive a photo or two, which is how I know they're doing well. Mostly my cats hide from visitors. We love Tail Wagger Pet Care. Not only is the owner amazing with dogs, but so are her associates. The owner is very well organized, courteous, and honestly cares about the pets she sits. We love, just love, that we get pics of our furry creatures while away. It's an added touch that lets us know the pets are well taken care of in our home. Other great features about these awesome pet-sitters: 1) can babysit on short notice, 2) will check your mail, and 3) turn on and off lights in the house to ensure it looks lived in while away. I can't say enough positives about Tail Wagger Pet Care for all my boarding/dog walking needs. Upon meeting Ms. Hall, the owner, you can tell immediately that animals are her passion; not just her "job". When you have four dogs that are like your children, this is essential for peace of mind when leaving them in the care of another. I've had horrific experiences with boarding, grooming, pet walking, etc. before I found TWPC. I was very impressed with her organization of the company, the presentation of what she offers, her thoroughness in regards to the dogs health needs, temperament, likes/dislikes, and especially liked that she is insured and bonded. All this and my dogs love going on vacation to her home. I have a 16 year old lab who I wouldn't trust with anyone but Ms. Hall. He has many special medical needs and his temperament is rather "iffy" at times due to his age, but he always comes home clean, well fed, and happy! We used Tail Wagger a few months ago when our regular sitter was unavailable. Overall, I was happy with the experience. I believe there are "employees" that assist in walking, because a young man came over to do our consult. He was a little overwhelmed with our large, hyper dog, whereas most dog people would know to give him some sort of command instead of letting him bounce all over. It's possible he didn't want to "scold someone else's child" as we were there, although I do like to see if someone can handle my idiot dog on their own before I take off. One of their main selling points is that they will text pictures of your pets while you're away. The first night, I was concerned because I didn't receive the promised text, and didn't have the sitters number, only the owners. I waited until 8pm or so, and still no word, so I called (and left a voice mail) with the owner to make sure someone had stopped by to care for the dogs. After that, I got a text from the sitter explaining that he was busy and forgot to text me while he was at our house. Overall, our dogs didn't die or escape, and our house was as we had left it. They charge $10 more than my regular sitter, but I would use them again in a pinch read more

We just dropped off our 2 chocolate labs with Lanette at tail waggers. It is the 4th time in a 5 year span we have used her services. I actually knew lanette from Jr hi school. We reconnected on FB. I found out she has this business and was thrilled. I know our fur baby's will be loved, cared for, and played with. They have a room to sleep in, not a crate. She has a pool for them. She has propertg to run around on. I know this woman & trust her implicitly. One of or labs gets nervous when we leave and won't always eat. Lanette figured out to put a little wet food in, and voila. .she ate. Lanette also has a very sweet, calm & mellow yellow lab. My dogs love her dog and she is a calming influence on them. I could never bring my dogs to be borded at a kennel. Leaving them with lanette is the next best thing to home. We feel happy & confident when we leave her house. And yes she does send pictures! Everything about Tail Wagger Pet Care was great. The owner was very helpful, very accommodating, even helped me figure out how to get one of the needed vaccines before I arrived, since I couldn't find proof of it. She was very friendly, and obviously great with dogs. Also took in a dog with very short notice. Our girl was VERY happy and totally exhausted when we picked her up. She obviously got a *lot* of good playtime. Only reason I'm not giving her 5 stars, is that after we got home, or even the next day I think it was, I found that my girl had quite a few scabs on her head and ears. It didn't look like she had gotten bit really badly, but either was roughhousing a LOT, or a smaller dog tried to eat her face and ears. She definitely didn't have these before arriving there, and there's no way someone could have not noticed--she has very short hair so any blood or scabbing is pretty obvious on her. So I called and the owner told me that she had been doing quite a bit of roughhousing with a lab, and that it probably happened then. To be very clear--I'm not offended that my dog got a bit cut up while being boarded--that could happen anywhere. And she was in VERY good spirits when we arrived, so I know she wasn't treated badly and hadn't gotten into some bad fight or something. But it would have been nice to be told or shown when we picked her up. I think it's just a point of courtesy to let the owner know anything that happened, and at least give the explanation so I don't have to be worried once I see it and have to call the next day to see what happened. All that being said, I'd still bring her back there if I need her boarded in the Sacramento area again, and I'd still recommend Tail Wagger Pet Care to people I know. read more

We love Lynette! She is the best. We have used for Tail Waggers for a few years now whenever we are out of town to watch our two dogs and two cats. She comes to our house twice a day and does an amazing job. She is always available to watch them, even on holidays. She also helps with small things like taking our trash cans out or watering our plants. She takes our dogs for walks and texts pictures of all the animals which we love. Last time she watched them I just mentioned that morning that it was one of my dog's birthday and when she came back that night to let them out she had made a doggy cake for him. We've used Tail Waggers several times in the past year, including during an almost month long trip to Africa. We have two dogs and a cat. Our cat is on oral medications (for life). After I got tired of imposing on friends I decided to give pet sitters a try. After trying 2 others I found Tail Wagger and need look no further. Hate to give a less than glowing review to anyone, but we had flights arranged and I contacted Lynnette for a reservation for my pup. All was good to go until a week prior, when she was overbooked by her regular clients. Kinda frustrating, as I might have been one of those regulars. It was just odd to feel kinda like a second-class citizen for a minute. I totally understand rewarding loyalty - but maybe not at the cost of screwing up the plans of those who just haven't had a chance to be loyal yet? Luckily, we've found an in-home facility that we are incredibly happy with now -- so I suppose everything works out in the end. read more

I have a 10 year old Black Lab, and Tail Wagger Pet Care provides the best care I have ever experienced. In the past, I have used kennels, and felt guilty leaving my dog caged. Or, for short trips, I would have a sitter come in twice a day, and feel guilty that he was left alone the other 23 hours a day. I now use the option of having my dog cared for in Lanette's home. My dog is happy to go to her place and has a blast playing with the other dogs. I think he sees it as a doggy vacation, and I don't have to feel guilty. The only complaint I have is sometimes he comes home rather dirty. Still, this is a small issue in the grander scheme of things, which is knowing that he is lovingly cared for. I recently returned to Sacramento after having been gone a number of years. Having to establish new service providers such as doctors, hair stylists, dentists is a pain in the neck...but nothing as stressful to me as finding quality pet care. I'd never left my fir kids with strangers before and when I was required to work out of town for a week recently I was in a panic. I contacted a number of pet sitting services before deciding to use Tail Waggers. Lanette was professional and thorough over the phone. We decided to have one of her male associates come to the house for the consultation, as my most recent rescue pup is in "rehab" from a previously abusive situation and we're working on her fear of males. Within 10 minutes of Mike's arrival, she was sitting at his feet, wagging her tail and obviously smitten. I was able to go out of town confident that she would not have a melt down in my absence.
