Hands down the worst car dealership I've EVER experienced. First I test drove and bought a car. A Volvo XC90. I was coming from Des Moines and drove it home. On the drive home, a light came on and I heard water sloshing every time I stopped. I scheduled it to be seen at Volvo Des Moines anyway for some peace of mind. After looking at the car, I get a call that the Volvo dealership was aware of this car and had serviced it previously after a significant accident involving WATER. Imagine my surprise since their "car facts" never showed anything of that nature. After a week of emails and threatening legal action, they FINALLY take the car back and exchange it for something else. Only they need their mechanic to address something and they'll deliver it. BIG MISTAKE. This car has never worked and after contacting them about it they mailed parts for the WRONG MODEL and told me to fix it. Then they stopped answering emails or calls at all. Honestly avoid them at all costs. An absolute nightmare company with no morals. They're predatory and their car "facts" are fiction. Response to seller: we've called and left multiple voicemails. We've also emailed multiple times. You shipped parts to us that do not fit our car and continue to face issues with this vehicle. Both of our phone numbers have been accessible to you and during the first week you returned phone calls to these same numbers repeatedly. No numbers have changed. Update 1/2026: There's a reason multiple people are saying they sell lemons. And they get on the Internet to respond to low reviews but won't answer the phone. Be extremely wary. Unless the dealership offers a solution for this lemon STAY FAR AWAY! purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado WT 4.3L V6 from this dealership a year ago with 91,000 miles on it for around 20,000 Within days, I started experiencing intermittent electrical and shifting issues that have never been resolved. Now at 98,000 miles, 14 Service visits and 4 different mechanics at a loss the truck suffers from: Random electrical communication faults (CAN bus errors) Infotainment screen staying on after shutoff Key stuck in the ignition after driving Jerky, delayed 1-2 transmission shifts Frequent trouble codes including U0100, U0140, U0101, B3205, and more I've had these problems since the day I bought it. I trusted that a truck sold at this price and mileage had been thoroughly inspected, but it's become clear that these issues were likely pre-existing or at least never disclosed. This is not just a "bad sensor" or "wear-and-tear" -- these are major network and control issues that affect how the truck drives, powers down, and shifts. I expected better quality control and accountability from this small dealership. Now I'm stuck troubleshooting a vehicle I rely on daily -- and one I shouldn't have had to fight with from day one. June 8th 2025 Steer clear of tailgate motors. Drove 3 hours to test drive a couple of Trucks that were on car fax. Called ahead to make appointment. They confirmed trucks would be ready for test drive, they were. They also said that this vehicle had been inspect by repair shop and was ready for sale. However upon test drive there were some mechanical issues that were discussed and they agreed to fix. I Put a $500 deposit and was to return the next week to pick up vehicle. After more research on car fax there were obvious repairs done to the steering column ignition switch and steering wheel horn cover that were not reported to car fax. I inquired about this and they claimed that this vehicle had a clean report. I Emailed Dylan and requested to have my $500 deposit returned due to the incomplete report. He called me and said he would discuss with his boss. That was 10 days ago ,I have had no response to date. I'm out $500 of my hard earned money. I would not trust these guys statements about the condition of vehicles or give them a deposit . I also drove e another vehicle that had transmission shifting problems, stated that to them also. I would not recommend this dealership to any one. Don't go. If you do don't walk away run away. Ps: I read some outstanding reviews , and a few negative on this place before I decided to drive there. Purchase Date 7-24-2023 Part of my purchase was to include tint. They were unable to get it done before we picked it up "Per Jeff"Jeff told me I could get it done with there guy or have it done and text him a receipt and they would send a check. I sent the receipt and no response from Jeff and two weeks later. Tried calling left messages no answer or returned phone calls or texts. We have had this truck for one month and the this weekend the key won't turn in the ignition tried calling Jeff again and have yet to get a call back. They tell you everything you want to hear until you sign them papers. Then costumer service drops to zero. We bought the truck 7-24-2023. I don't not know why anyone would run a business in this way? Do they not care to have you come back to purchase another vehicle from them in the future? We bought a vehicle from them that looked nice. It had a flat tire and all the stuff was put on the one seat in the 3rd row. They got it fixed and then put new tires on it. When we got home we found out that the seat was also down because the motor was shot. The seat is stuck in the down position. We also found out that the car needed over $6000 worth of repairs and had been in the shop for almost 3 weeks due to multiple repairs such as breaks, water pump etc. The money we spent up front and for repairs we could have bought newer elsewhere. read more

I'm normally a very understanding person, so it takes a lot for me to write a bad review; with that being said, I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this dealership. Please save yourself the time, money, and headache and look for a vehicle elsewhere. In the first two weeks, the 2015 nissan we purchased died 4 times, 3 of which were in the middle of busy intersections. I left a review at that time and the dealership immediately called me saying they "weren't very happy" to see my review--not that the car was causing issues. We ended up needing to replace the alternator and were also told all the fluids were very low and needed replaced. The dealership said they would pay to cover parts, which was around $600. We received an email on 8/10/23 stating "Your check is being processed and sent as we speak," but two weeks later it still has not come and we haven't heard back after inquiring about this. ONE WEEK after the alternator was replaced, the car died AGAIN, 3 hours from home with our 1 and 4 year old. After paying $100 to have it towed to a nearby town, they told us there was a connectivity issue with the battery. We also had the transmission inspected and were told that it is slipping and will eventually need replaced as well. All of this was before the first payment was even made on the car. The salesman who helped us knew that we chose to make this purchase because of ongoing issues with our previous vehicle and a need for a reliable car with our two small children. Shy 3 years after buying a truck from Tailgate Motors, we found out today that the truck's engine is bad. Repairs would cost over $6,200, on top of the $4,000 that we already put into the truck after the differential went out a year ago. Obviously, it's more than the vehicle is actually worth. Now we have to get rid of it. Thanks, Tailgate. You sold us a lemon. We purchased the 2009 Dodge Ramp Pickup in Nov. 2017 for $16,708 in Nov. 2017. The truck seemed to be in good condition, and the owner was extremely charming-- told us about how he was just "starting out" his business and wants to do it right. FYI, my husband mostly drives the truck to work in the city, so it hasn't been driven hard. I've tried to reach out to Tailgate Motor Co. privately. When we bought the truck, the owner assured us that he'd take care of us, and if we had any questions or issues, that we should contact him. Tailgate never responded. This truck has been a money pit for us, and we are extremely disappointed with our experience. That's $20,000 down the drain in less than 3 years. Hell no are we putting in another $6 grand to fix the engine. We're not wealthy people who can just throw away money like that. I bought a used Chevy Volt from Tailgate. While they ran into an issue with the Title (via GM Financial), they did go out of their way to help throughout the process. This is a small used car company in Fremont, and I have to say everyone was friendly, there was no pressure and I never felt like anyone was trying to pull anything over on me. It felt simply like a group of people working hard at their jobs and I was able to buy a car at a very fair price. Go find me a Bolt or a Tesla in a couple years and I'd be back! read more

On March 8th, 2022 I purchased this Hummer H2 from Tailgate Motor Co. As of today, March 23rd, 2022. I'm still currently WITHOUT a vehicle. I'm beyond upset and angry but doing my very best to control my anger. One thing I can't tolerate is poor professional courtesy and service and that's what I received and I'm getting from TMC. Since Day 1 being interested in this vehicle I received subpar service from their salesman. Having to call several and several times on basic and expected things a customer should get and receive in business. I've been far past being patient and cooperative but at this point is ridiculous at best. Me being a customer and paying thousands and thousands of dollars for a vehicle they failed to deliver and provide is unacceptable. Especially for a military member of the armed services for this country and a law enforcement officer for the community he serves. I've received nothing and I mean nothing but excuses, excuses, delays and delays and after weeks NO VEHICLE delivered or even a courtesy call or insurance where and if I'm getting my vehicle. UNACCEPTABLE and pathetic at this point!!! So since I wasn't given the professional customer courtesy I was given and in limbo about my vehicle and no call back or communication about it. I have no choice but to report it stolen. Contact the FBI Fraud Dept. The JAG Office. My lawyer. The Tampa Police, the Better Business Bureau and the Nebraska authorities and even Nebraska media if need be. This has been the worst experience in purchasing a vehicle in my entire adult life. So I stress buyer beware dealing with this dealership. They offered me t-shirts and a gas card for my inconvenience. How about my vehicle I paid for. This place is an absolute joke. My fiancé wanted to test drive a truck which they let him do. We signed a contract saying we would have the vehicle back by 6 pm the next day. By 1 they were texting him asking if they could drive his car to come pick up the truck. Then we of course get the truck back to them by 5 so an hour sooner than we told them. 3 guys (couldn't even tell you there names due to them not even acknowledging us) were sitting at a computer on there phones. Walked up to the desk gave us a deer in the headlights stare didn't even say "can I help you?" NOTHING. Told them we were bringing back the truck,asked how we liked it and then again gave us a deer in the headlight look. We then asked for my fiancée keys and left. These "men" didn't even try and make us feel valued as customers and try and make a sale. Needless to say we will NOT be looking into purchasing a vehicle from them EVER. read more

This dealership needs some work. We bought from them which later resulted in a lot of trouble. They were somewhat willing to help rectify the issue, but it took a lot of bickering and back and forth. The owner seems more customer service oriented than anyone else there and we found it extremely difficult to communicate with them. They seem to cobble things together that then later fall apart. Honestly, I would never buy a car or recommend anyone I know to buy a car/truck here. Be cautious and be very diligent about checking everything out before buying.
