Tailgaters is a great neighborhood sports bar. The food is good & they have lots of drink specials. There is a view of one of their many TVs from almost every seat. They even have USB ports under the bar so you can charge your phone. They would get a 5 but there is no longer a pool table, they're mixed drinks are a bit expensive for a local hangout and the bartenders can be a little too bitchy sometimes. read more

Wings were average at best. Somewhat slimy, the bones in the wings were already broken upon discovering them. Got the brownie ice cream for dessert. The brownie was big but low quality and tasted more like cake rather then brownie, it had no warm fudge, and barely any chocolate syrup, there was also not nearly enough ice cream to match the size of the brownie. Service was friendly but somewhat slow and it was not very busy. On the wing special night they deny your request for a box to take the unfinished wings home and state "they are eat-in only". Overall environment and feel of the bar is identical to an Applebee's. read more

Let me preface my review by saying that Tailgaters is my home bar and I have been a regular there for years. Do not think that this review is bias because I am regular, instead read the review and realize that I am a regular for the reasons below. It is truly the best sports bar around, and trust me I have searched for a long time. Before I was a regular at Tailgaters, I spent every Sunday in the fall being disrespected at other local bars that claimed to have Sunday ticket. Being a Broncos fan, it has always been difficult to find a place that can accommodate my needs. I know that it is a Giants sports bar in Eagle territory, but all fans are welcomed. There is no other place I would rather watch a game, other than in the stadium itself. Clearly I am only mentioning football, however year round it is a must for sports fans. Most sports bars just have wings and burgers, which is well a good, but Tailgaters takes it a step further. Menu options and specials change every season. Their burgers are solid, wing sauces are flavorful, salads are addicting, wraps and sandwiches are creative (from day one I have loved and still do their Broad Street Chicken sandwich [I ask for it Cajun style]), and a slew of entrees. Oh and I can't forget about the free bowls of popcorn! Like every other bar you have your spirits, but recently the craft beer scene has started to explode in South Jersey. Tailgaters has over 20 taps with about half very good quality craft beer (plus many more bottles). Even though Stockton College is very close it does not turn into a college bar like some of its other counterparts, which is nice for the locals. I will say that Wednesday nights for Wing & Yuengling specials does pack them in for Fall and Spring semesters. I travel a lot for work and eat out more often than I should, and there is always the same sign of a quality establishment... the management caring. Obviously food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all matter, but to have the owner usually around and interacting with its patrons is a plus. I have read some of these reviews about the staff. Yes at times there are some new inexperienced wait staff, and yes at times the bar can be slammed, but majority of the time they will take good care of you. It is not a chain, but a friendly neighborhood sports bar where you are welcomed whether you are a regular or stopping in from out of town. I recommend it to anyone that wants to go where locals go and they want to avoid Atlantic City. It is a must stop if there is a game you want to watch! read more

I am going with 2 stars because if I could it would be 3 for food and 1 for service. Sat at the bar to order a quick sandwich to go. After seeing my food sit under a lamp for at least 10 minutes, I finally asked for it and they got it. Pretty strange that every other customer in the place had popcorn but me. Being in the industry I had planned on tipping generously but bad service doesn't warrant it. Too bad because we like to support local business and sandwich and fries were good. Tailgaters is a nice addition to Galloway. Great selection of beers. Food tends to be hit-or-miss, though the mussels are amazing! Get 'em spicy!! This can be a really fun place to go with the right group. Gets packed on Sundays during football season! Service is inattentive, slow, and can be downright rude sometimes. On a recent visit, my friend asked a bartender to change one of the TVs to the Cowboys game and she basically snapped at him. Really no need for it. I've also had the same bartender attempt to essentially steal my money, as she blatantly turned on the house radio after I deposited $5 into the digital jukebox and made some selections. Staff typically looks miserable. Tailgaters gets 3 stars instead of 2 though, because one night it started snowing pretty hard while I was there. Not my first trip here and especially not my first poor experience. Came in a few nights ago around 10. Only two or three other tables in the restaurant. Waitress took about 10 minutes to come talk to us. Ordered our burgers well done (no pink) received medium (pink). Fries tasted like fryer oil that hadn't been changed in awhile. Waitress didn't care to check on us until we were done eating. Asked for the bill which took about another 15 minutes to recieve. Would have asked one of the bartenders to help but they were too busy taking shots with patrons at the bar. What a great example of exemplary service! Won't be visiting tailgaters again. If anyone is looking to get good food and service I'd recommend bulldogs down the street over this place any day. read more

Thats right, I said olives. A friend of mine was having a drink and offered me her olive. Sure, why not I said. Little did I know it would be a life altering event. Waitress was horrible. Waited 45 mins for 2 orders of wings and an appetizer. Waitress did not once come by to ask if we needed anything or to explain why the wait was so long. After 40 mins went by we had to hunt her down to ask what the hold up was.....her response...can't you see were busy? Really?! Then she went to the kitchen and miraculous our food came out...but not before she said something to the cook and they all glanced over at us. Food was fine, horrible customer service. I went here last weekend for a quick bite to eat before a night out in AC. I went in with low expectations as it is a bar in Southern New Jersey, but was pleasantly surprised with the menu options and the New York sports team decor! If you dine here I would suggest the "Bowl O' Bacon" as an appetizer, because who doesn't love bacon?! The dish is paired with blue cheese and maple syrup for dipping. For dinner, I had the chicken and avocado panini, which was good. My only complaint is I was unable to eat the bread, it may have been under the press for too long. My boyfriend loved the Texas Bacon burger and the Old Bay french fries were delicious! The service was a bit slow but overall it was a good experience. read more

The tap list and bottle list are amazing with a lot craft beers to choose from. The food was nothing to write home about. The chicken parm sandwich was okay, but not the greatest. This is a hard place to review for us because of a mixed experience. We came here on a Saturday night for dinner. The places was packed with only seating in the back. The atmosphere was lively and people seamed to be having a good time. Once seated we were given menus by the hostess, it's at this point we had an unpleasant experience. No waiter ever came to take drink orders or acknowledge our existence. Patrons at other tables next to us were being helped we on the other hand were ignored. After literally 15mins of waiting (thanks to my smart phone timer for that) one of us went up and confronted the waiters. Five mins later a waiter finally came over and volunteered to take our table. I feel really this was inexcusable in the first place, if we didn't go over and complain and a waiter didn't volunteer we would have been ignored all night. So from that sense I feel the oversight of the management and laziness of some of the waiter staff is poor. I'm glad the one waitress was nice enough to take our table but in general a customer shouldn't come to a place and have to beg to be served. After this point the rest if the night was good. The burgers we all got tasted awesome and the waitress checked up on us and did refills for our drinks. The appetizer we had was just ok (pretzels with a cheese dip) I've had better at chains. The place gives you free popcorn with a sprinkled on butter salt, it was a little overpowering for me but others liked it, either way a nice gesture. The prices were fair and you get a generous portion of food. I would have rated a star higher if the initial service was better but this place in my book ranks as middle of the road average at best. Would I eat here again maybe in a jam but not as a preference. read more

I stopped here with a friend a couple weeks ago after hearing an ad on the radio while in AC. It seemed like a decent place to stop and grab some food before the ride home. When we got there, there were only a few people in there. We were greeted within a minute after sitting down at the bar. The bartender was busy doing stock and took a few minutes to actually ask for our drink order and then a few more minutes to actually bring them to us. No big deal. I ordered some sort of burger with an egg over easy on top and asked for the burger to be cooked medium. I can't recall what my friend ordered, so I can only give the details of my meal, but he was not satisfied. The burger came out so dry and well done that I didn't even finish half of it. It was burnt to a crisp and black. The egg over easy was on the grill so long that the yolk cooked and actually burned. An egg over easy takes maybe 3 minutes and should have a nice, runny yolk. The kitchen is clueless on how to run the operation. The waitress was nice, but failed to stop back and ask how we were after bringing us the food. I don't like to give poor ratings, but I don't think it's fair to lure people in with a hyped up radio ad, only to receive mediocre food and service. If you just want a drink or two, maybe give them a try. If you're looking for food, there are plenty of other places. I'll probably give them another try in a year or so and see if they got their act together. If that's the case, I will update my review. read more

The drink specials are decent. Although I did not have any of the food, I hear it is pretty good. There are a few other bars in the area and this one is the least horrible of them all. My husband and I went on a Sunday afternoon. We checked out a bunch of reviews for places in the area and decided Tailgaters would satisfy our cravings. It wasn't busy when we arrived - a couple of tables and half a dozen people at the bar. The sign read Please Wait to be Seated, but no one approached us, so we walked up to the bar and asked if we could grab a table. After waiting about 5 minutes and having a server walk by our table multiple times without acknowledging us, we should've took this as a sign to leave, but we were hungry and stuck it out. The server who finally came to our table lacked personality and didn't give us the time of day. We definitely did not feel welcome and more like an inconvenience. We ordered a couple appetizers, the chicken quesadillas and short rib sliders. For our entrees the Cuban panini and Smokehouse burger. The burger was the standout, but overall we could've went to Applebee's for a similar meal and way better service. We have no reason to return as there are many restaurants in the area with appetizing menus and (hopefully) better service. It's a shame people don't take pride in their work, especially when it comes to the hospitality business. And this is not a direct reflection of our server alone, but all the waitstaff on the floor. If you're not going to have a standout menu, you should at least have a staff that can add more personality and higher quality service to your establishment. read more

First time there and tailgaters scored a touchdown Giant rack of delicious ribs.... sweet potato fries with vanilla bourbon sauce.... yup no typo there... vanilla bourbon dipping sauce for the fries.... and string beans with peppers and onions.....also delicious. Not to mention $5 three olives vodka/ redbull drink special. Most places charge you more than $5 for red Bull alone. All this with a comfortable atmosphere and very friendly staff.
