I brought my dress at the beginning of June for my end of October wedding. I needed a hem, zipper fix, buttons replaced, loops for said buttons fixed, and a bustle. The hem and zipper work were good. The buttons were a stressful problem. The dress was to have buttons all the way down the back. When I brought it in many were missing and the loop closures at the top needed repair. When I brought the dress in I was told they would face the additional buttons with hem fabric. When I finally had buttons at my pickup appointment 2 weeks before my wedding the added buttons didn't match in color or size. She tried to not even do all the buttons. But once she did I saw they were big enough that they bumped against each other looking like crooked teeth. Upon voicing this I was told, they had to source them, that's what happens either way sample dresses and generally made to feel bad about my concern that they weren't right so close to my wedding. They did get new buttons that matched the dress better, were smaller, and replaced all the buttons so they matched each other. But this meant I got my dress on Wednesday for my Saturday wedding. At that appointment she mentioned there being extra loops, they reinforced my bustle and I had to ask them to re-steam the dress. But I was stressed and just wanted my dress. On having it home I tried it on for my MOH. We noted a gap where the loop closures were, loops without accompanying buttons, and concern the bustle wouldn't hold. I did some work on these, my MOH did some creative looping to tighten the gap and hide the extra loops. On my wedding day the bustle popped breaking a button and somehow another button came off. I had an amazing dress and wedding but Tailored in White added significant stress in the final days. Update: they issued a refund for a small part of my total cost and still charged me for taking up the dress straps ($80!!!!) and for taking in my bodice to a point where the dress no longer fit at all. This work had to be undone by another seamstress so I could even put my dress on. To charge me for their mistakes is not only petty and ridiculous but seems like a scam. DO NOT GO HERE read more

Have had the absolute BEST experience with tailored in white!! Not only are the seamstresses top tier but their service is unmatched.... The micro fitting experience is unlike anything else and ensures that you look and feel your best on your big day! I will come back after my September wedding to post a review with pictures of my dress but all I can say is go here, you will have no regrets!! So excited to pick up my dress next month! I have loved everything from the original conversation to the moment they took scissors to my hem today! Value wise, your money is being put to good use! My consultation appointment here was amazing, I was so excited by the energy that was brought and the thought of the micro alterations excited me. My dress needed minor adjustments- the straps needed to be shorted and it needed to be hemmed. While going through the alterations, we decided to make a few changes- add boning and change the style of the back some. I had all the faith in the world in Laura that the alterations would be perfect, I was sadly mistaken. A few appointments in, we agreed to remove the see through mesh piece between the breasts as I did not like it much, when I came back in for my next appointment, the dress fit so different. I was shocked, then I was told that it was all because we removed this tiny piece and that this was to be expected. However this was not explained to me prior to making this change. We then spent the next several appointments trying to fix the fit of the dress. We decided on a beautiful change to the back of the dress (this did turn out very nicely) sometime in the beginning of June. I then was told that they would need to cut the hem early to use that fabric to create the change on the back, which I agreed to. I then was told that I needed to make an appointment in a month and that I would need to arrange to be there for an hour as my dress would be basically ready for pick up, I would have just one more appointment after this. I took the day off for this hour appointment and went in on July 2nd. When I arrived, the dress was in the exact same condition that I had left it in a month prior, nothing had been done to my dress. My wedding was to take place on July 27th. All of my appointments up until this point had been with Laura. I then went in on July 8th for another try on- looked like my entire alterations process had been rushed and was not checked for quality before my appointment. The crinoline on my dress was sewn completely sideways- like one side started at my knees and the other side was sewn up near my hip, it was almost completely diagonal, not to mention that it also had a massive hole in it. The hem at the bottom of my dress was two different lengths, there was oversew on the top of my dress, the boob cups inside the chest of my dress looked like misplaced swim suit cups, they could be seen through all the layers of my dress. I started working with Lucy at this appointment, when she saw some of the things that were wrong with my dress, she looked as surprised as I was. She made notes of all of the fixes that needed to take place and I left. Lucy did her best to fix all of the errors made on my dress. On July 18th, I came in for another appointment- this appointment was with Laura again. She pointed out several dirty spots on my dress that she "spot cleaned" these spots were never there prior to this appointment. I put the dress on at this appointment and the boob area was still horrific. I took the dress off, she attempted to fix it, it got better but it still wasn't great. I decided to cut my losses and take the dress home, this whole process was completely exhausting. Out of every single thing that was planned for this wedding, this was the most stressful part. It was so disappointing. I took the dress home. On the 23rd, I returned for them to remove the boob pads from the dress because I was still not happy with the way it looked, this did fix a lot of it but it still wasn't perfect. I was not happy with the dress, in fact, I contemplated ordering an Amazon dress to take its place as I didn't feel that I wanted to get married in this dress any longer. The morning of my wedding- July 27th, I took my dress out of the bag, it looked like someone had walked all over the back of my dress, I texted tailored in white to let them know of this and of course I got no response. My maid of honor spent the entire morning of my wedding hand cleaning my dress. Since my review is so long, here are the key points- I do not recommend having your dress tailored here, if you must get your dress tailored here, request LUCY and only LUCY. Do not take your dress home from this place without inspecting every single piece of it. I wish I had more photos to attach of all the things that were wrong, but I was naive and let them fix it without documenting it first. I had the most incredible experience with everyone at Tailored in White! Melissa, Laura, and Mars were all so much fun to work with. They really made me feel like they cared about ME as the bride, not just about my dress. I actually had two separate consultations with them for two different wedding dresses. My first dress didn't end up working out, and it was a huge cause of stress for me. Melissa was there for me through the entire process, lending me her advice but also reassuring me that no matter what dress I ended up wearing, they could make it work for me and make it beautiful. My dress could not have turned out more beautiful, I even had them make custom off the shoulder sleeves because I didn't love the ones my dress came with. The end result were sleeves that looked like they should have always come with the dress. They totally saw my vision and executed it perfectly! I had a destination wedding, and when it came time to pack my dress in my suitcase for the big day, TIW even offered to help me pack it so I didn't damage the boning. Would highly recommend against using this business for wedding dress alterations. There are so many reasons I had a terrible experience here. 1. The details were just not there- they cut out the sewn in straps in the dress leading the straps to stretch out quite a bit, the cups were sewn in so the knots were visible and they had to be redone, the buttons were not sewn in how I wanted and had to be redone. 2. They struggled to get the fit right- at one point they had taken in the sides so much and tightened the straps, it increased my bust size by 3+ cup sizes. I was adamant that this was not the look I was going for, but it took 45 minutes of us going back and forth (at one point they suggested me taping my breasts and another they told me this was just how the dress was...) for them to finally agree to take it back to its more elegant, initial style. 3. I was initially excited by their concept of a true body fit, achieved by many small alterations over the course of many weeks. The problem I found with this is that the alterations later on in the process impacted alterations that were done in the beginning. With each new alteration, other parts of the dress no longer fit well and it was just a constant cascade that required more alterations with more cost. We ended up having to weight the back of my dress (which cost $$) because it started bunching below my butt. 4. As the process went on, the staff became more aggressive with me when I tried to advocate for myself and I became more and more willing to compromise on what I wanted. In all, I had 8 appts for a simple body fit. I was absolutely in love with my dress that I had spent many months looking for, but the process at Tailored in White took a lot of that joy away and added a significant amount of stress to my wedding planning process.
