I am a Portland fashion designer and my buttonholer recently left large black stains on the front of a pale peach silk georgette blouse I was finishing for a client. Needed a few pairs of jeans altered last minute, a few inches taken from the waist on them. Called and they said normally 2 business days and explained process, nicely asked if they could possibly just do one pair to be ready next day and they agreed to do it if I dropped them off ASAP. Came in about 15mins later and Lee took measurements and told me to come back next day in the afternoon and they'd be ready. Picked them up next day and was charged $35 (including rush fee) which I thought was totally fair and they fit perfectly! Great job, no flaws :) I will use them in the future. Was in the area from out of town and needed fluff and fold. Turned over my laundry and was told it would be the $40 minimum, even though I maybe had $20 worth of laundry. Picked up a couple days later and discovered items were missing. Although I experienced the obvious disappointment of the cleaners losing my clothes, what's more disappointing is the owner not accepting the mistake. This place is a clean dream! We've dropped stuff off thinking it was ruined, only to come back and find that PDC cleaned it like it never happened! The staff is super-friendly and fun. The prices are super fair. Their turn-around time is amazing and they shoot straight with you about what is and isn't possible. They can only work so much magic. There's usually a parking spot open right out front so you can dash in and dash out. Sue is absolutely the most warm and welcoming person I've encountered recently. She's everything you'd expect and so much more when you walk into the space. My boyfriend and I have been on the lookout for a dry cleaning spot that we'd eventually hope to claim as our go-to and this is definitely it. Prices are incredibly fair and turnaround time is quick. I think the only "complaint" really is that their hours on Yelp don't match their current operating hours but that's forgivable and not a big deal to me at all. I have had two bad experiences with this Dry Cleaners. The first experience, Two of my wool sweaters were shrunken (one completely ruined) and they said that I washed it before I brought it to them, which was not true. They offered credit instead of compensation, which I politely declined. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried again, this time they laundered an ivory duvet and they left a pink stain on it that was not there before. Both times my garments did not smell fresh/clean upon pick up. The odor reminded me of a thrift store. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. read more

Absolutely appalling. Just picked up my first order and discovered multiples pieces of clothing (worth a total of over $1,000) are completely ruined. White and cream garments covered in rust colored stains, silk dresses torn/snagged, and tops covered in holes. I spent $175 to dry clean clothes that are now not even in good enough condition to donate. Even the items that are not visibly damaged smell strongly of chemicals and will need to be dry cleaned again (elsewhere) before they can be worn. Avoid at all costs!! read more

My favorite wool sweater got a large hole in the elbow and I took it here to be repaired. They did such a great job that I literally cannot even tell where the hole was anymore. I am so incredibly happy. Beyond that, they also repaired the hem on a shirt perfectly and cleaned another sweater. The customer service is also excellent. I had great conversations with the owners both on drop off and pick up. If I lived in Portland, this would without a doubt be my go-to for any cleaning or repairs. This is a fine dry cleaner. Nothing special, but they get the job done. I was a customer here for years, but their utter disregard for safety and the various mask mandates throughout the pandemic has been extremely disrespectful to their customers and the public. No other business I have visited during the pandemic has shown such carelessness and irresponsibility. They made ME feel weird for wearing a mask, even at the height of the pandemic. I never thought about my dry cleaner's politics until the pandemic hit, but then I saw their utter contempt for Covid safety, and started to notice the right-wing news outlets playing on the TV in the store. I'm Asian, so it's always nice to see other Asian small businesses thriving in the city, providing customer service that's immediate and friendly. I've made a few trips to this dry cleaner, and even brought a formal dress with visible stains on it, and have left satisfied each time. Turnaround time has been relatively quick and the staff is friendly. The only con here is that parking is nearly impossible. I don't really want to walk the mile to / from my house with clean dry cleaning, but as we all likely know, street parking in the heart of the Pearl is really difficult. I end up parking in front of the neighboring business & asking for forgiveness as I quickly run into the dry cleaner next door. If anyone has a better tip here, let me know! read more

I didn't my dry cleaning done here - but I appreciate the owner giving me honest advice. I had a challenging sweater, more like a house coat that I'd bought from Nordstrom. It was funky/chunky with some fringe. Problem is, it left a bunch of fuzzies on the ground and on my clothes, like it was shedding terribly. I know I can return for free but I'd grown attached to it - Operator at Nordstrom said I could get it dry cleaned to solve the fuzzies shedding. I was reluctant, as the tag says Wash Cold. Anyway, took it to Pearl District Dry Cleaners after the gym and the man behind the counter, I assume was the owner, told me to return it and avoid buying items with the fringe. Said he'd appreciate the business, but it's not worth it for me to keep and battle this problem, it would just get worse and dry cleaning wouldn't solve it. Honesty. That's god business. I did try another Dry Cleaner in the Pearl, but they were not able to get out stains like this location. I had a polo I thought was ruined due to sweat stains with deodorant and it looks brand new now. They also do simple repairs very well and the pricing is reasonable. I am so incredibly grateful to this amazing business. They truly can work magic. My sister-in-law is getting married. Tonight is her rehearsal dinner. She has this beautiful white dress for it that she loves and had tailored. As someone was moving it into the hotel, they dropped it on the road! The road is currently filled with black sleet/snow. I love this place. The owners are just great people. I've never had an issue with the quality of the cleaning (and I dry clean a lot because of work clothes). Sometimes they've looked at difficult items (embellishments, synthetic fabrics, etc) and recommended they be cleaned another way and potential damage from dry cleaning.
