I have been taking my female Shih Tzu Lyric. To Tails A Waggin since she was 4 mos old each time we visit Las Vegas. She is now 1 year and 8 mos old. She loves going to the groomer. Both Cindy and Jim are always warm and friendly. Their staff are very professional and patient with the animals. Each time that we enter the business it's always sparkling clean and all dogs are happy to be there. We trusted them to groom our Diva for her first photo shoot. They did an outstanding job to make her look her best. Lyric adores Jim too I wish I knew his trick to get her to lay still while watching TV, they are the best , I highly recommend them they are thee best in Henderson. read more

We used to love Tails a Waggin, we had been bringing our little Cavachon there for 2 years, but the new Owner Wendy is awful and therefore will not be getting my business anymore. I suggest you also take your dogs elsewhere in Henderson, a place that appreciates your business. I love supporting small business owners but she needs to learn a thing or two about how to treat her customers. The posted hours on Saturdays is 8am-4pm. I dropped my dog off for grooming today around 11:40am and she called around 2:20pm to tell me that my dog would be ready in 10 minutes. I was about 25 minutes away and was wrapping up an appointment so I told her that I would be there by 3:15 and she gave me the biggest attitude. She then CALLED me BACK 10 minutes later and told me that she needed to close (it was now 2:30pm) and I needed to come sooner or tell my husband to come sooner. I said I'm confused, you close at 4pm? She said no, I close when the last dog is done and that's your dog now. I said wow, as a new business owner is that anyway to treat your customers? She replied, "I'm not a dog sitter! So go ahead and find a groomer that's also a dog sitter!" She said if I couldn't get there until 3:15pm (still within posted hours) then she would charge me for boarding on top of the grooming appointment!! She was extremely combative with me and so rude! How would I know when my dog is done until she calls? I didn't ask her to stay open late or for any special concessions. It seems that she wants everyone to sit and wait in the parking lot so that you can take your dog home as soon as they're ready!! Needless to say, she will not be getting my business anymore or anyone else that asks me for a dog groomer in Henderson. read more

Good: ONLY reason you get 2 stars is cause the lady that helped me was nice...to a point. Took both my dogs to get groomed cause it was super close to my house & it had good reviews. Wrong. Went in & it was a nice friendly introduction with a smile. Groomer was awesome at accepting one of my dogs cause her rabies expired. The Bad: The job was terrible. I asked for the basic Puppy Cut with a round head & rounded paws on my Bichon/Poodle. Didn't get that cause of a knot on her ear, which is their job to take car of. Telling your customer "if you wanna go home & brush her knot & come back you can do that" when you're the "professional". My Poochon was not matted except for that one spot behind her ear & she got completely shaved. My baby was not matted at all on her body & had ZERO reasons to be that short when I SPECIFICALLY asked her not to be. I would've been more pleased if they would've told me straight up to come back tomorrow morning cause she wouldn't be ready by closing time. My second one, who once again was not matted, added fuel to the fire. I never even got the chance to fully give a description & show them pictures of what I wanted. Instead I get the same shaved shitty job. Didn't use scissors to even the body just shaved it all off. Nails long as hell. Head not groomed right. Just all wrong. When I called previously and asked who the poodle groomer was, cause every salon has one, I get a "we all do Poodles I can't really say who's the best." I should've walked away. Everything in me was saying cuss them out & walk away but no I gave a chance, so shame on me. Never again. Let people know about this. read more

This is the first time I have taken my pug somewhere else besides Pets Mart. Pets Mart had an express service that only they took care of her about for 35 minutes. They said these kinds of dogs can only be here for so long and that's it.At this salon, she came out of the salon with shedding hair and she just looked like they hadn't brushed her. The ladies here at this pet salon were so incredibly friendly and my pug came out looking great and didn't have a bunch of shedding hair. I highly recommend! read more

We have used Tails A Waggin for our little Yorkie's entire life! They are always there when we need them. Even if we do not have an appointment they always make time for our little baby! Its not easy to do the perfect cut on such a little puppy but they always make her smell and look perfect! We can drop her off in the morning and as soon as she is ready they call us! It was hard to find a good groomer for my Maltese, gave Tails a Wagging a try one day and was very happy with her grooming! My little girl looks beautiful each and every time, I think we've been there 3 times already and will continue to go back! I also like the fact that the dogs get to roam free. Before when she was going to other places, she would come home and be sad and depressed all day and I'm so glad that's over, as she has never came home sad after being picked up from Tails a Wagging, it's the complete opposite, she's clean, happy and full of energy each time! :) read more

Tried Tails A Waggin for the first time the other day and I couldn't have been more happy with the quality of service and care for our two year old GSD. Friendly staff made it a welcoming environment and the place was super clean. Our dog is not fully trained yet but that didn't seem to bother the staff. They knew how to handle our girl. I've taken mine and my girlfriend's dog Wall*e here twice, and both times they have done a remarkable job! One they are super friendly, from scheduling an appointment, to drop off and pick up. Second, every time he's done getting groomed he smells so good! He's always very happy when he leaves as well, which is not always normal, he's not a fan of the groomers! Wow. This salon has gone down down down down!!!! The new owners Wendy and Mike Dreitzer have purchased this business from the amazing original owners Cindy and her husband who are still in the photos for the business on yelp to fool us into thinking they didn't sell. But we aren't fooled with the business going down hill. Yesterday when my husband dropped off our precious baby he was told that we didn't have an appointment. We did the lazy new owner Wendy had returned my vm on her cell the night before and made the appointment than didn't show up to work the next day and forgot to tell her incompetent employee that we had made the appointment. I wish that was the worst part. When they called to say our little fur baby was ready they charged my husband and he tipped them and than the incompetent Lucy began handing him another dog to walk out of the store with. Wow. When I confronted Wendy on the phone with this mistake she just got defensive and basically stated that they confuse dogs all of the time. No big deal. This is a huge deal. I couldn't believe this had happened before. When I said what if someone dropped off their child to daycare and they were given a different child she said that was not the same because you can't compare children to dogs. Well I have news for you. A lot of us feel our fur babies are our children. She was so nasty to me and my husband even threatening me if I put up a bad review that her husband was an attorney and her partner in the company. Our little baby who was whimpering for my husband was in a cage and had yet to be groomed and was soaking wet. My husband went to his car to wait for her to be ready as to not upset her anymore seeing him and not being able to go to him. We obviously were concerned for her safety of being given away so he didn't leave the area. My husband was told when he went back in that we weren't welcome at the salon anymore. Is that a joke? Who would bring their dog back to a place where they were mistreating animals in cages and possibly may give their precious pet to someone else? Cindy and her husband let the dogs run freely and only would use a divider if a smaller dog was feeling like they needed to be away from the bigger dogs. Sooo delighted to find Cindy and Tails a Waggin! My Bicheon Poo Toffee looked wonderful, and had a great time socializing (instead of being caged!) I think it is such a treat for the dogs to get to play as part of their grooming day. Cindy listened to my instructions about his hair length and to keep his head Teddy bear style more than poodle, and he was the best I have seen him, and very competitive prices. DON'T GO HERE! I will not bring my dog here again! If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. We used to come here and it was amazing, we'd pick him up and his haircut would be immaculate and he'd be happy. Now the new owner is awful, her attitude is trash. She was honestly so rude not only to me but also my dog. There was several spots of hair on my dog that were completely missed. If I'm paying to have my dog groomed I expect him groomed not that I have to go home and cut all the patches that you missed. Also ever since I picked him up he's been like traumatized acting all scared and flinchy and when we pick him up he cries. No matter how gentle, he cry's. I don't know what they did to my dog I feel like they dropped him or something like we have to make a vet trip because he's skiddish and keeps crying. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not bring him back ever again and will tell everyone I know that comes here my experience. My poor dog deserves much better and so do all of yours! Wendy does not care about your dog led alone the way they're groomed. read more

I came here because the last time I went to Petsmart, I watched them almost drop my dog off of a table. I was expecting good things given that it's in Seven Hills, the store was clean, and the staff was pretty friendly. However, I specifically told them that I wanted my dog to have a teddy bear cut with 1/2 inch left on the body. I came back to pick up my dog and he was shaved so short I can almost see the skin under and a little poof on his head. He looked like a goat. So disappointed. I recently moved to Henderson and needed a place to take my daughter, Moria (a pinchiweinie) to get her nails done and misc. grooming. The first time was an ok experience and they did a decent job; except the groomer told me her "expressions" really needed to be done by a vet. ??? The next time I came in, there was maybe one other customer at the counter. I waited to be acknowledged but, after several minutes, I left. I returned the other day to give them another try but, their groomer had left for the day. I was in an awkward position because I had lined up brief errands to run while my Moria was to be groomed. Jim, offered to watch her anyways and I returned shortly. He told me to come back the next day and he would make sure my services were attended to. I returned the next day but, again the groomer had just left. I don't blame Tails' nor Jim; not my lucky day/s. I will be back because I feel like I can trust Jim and my baby was able to play with Ollie. read more

They are very happy when they leave this shop. The service is prompt and particular. I like it. The staff is highly professional. My dogs and I have been treated very well. I have gone to tails a waggin' before, so this was not my first time. I say that because they should 'know" my dogs. I recently just had them groomed and this time the man who owns it (Jim), approached me as soon as I walked in to get them, explaining that one of my dogs had attempted to "bite" his groomer when she tried to clip his nails, and if I wanted them to groom them again, they would not be able to do his nails. I had explained to them before that he doesn't like it, because of what I'm assuming by his behavior towards it, was a previous bad experience with it. My dogs are all rescued and this particular dog I have had for 7 almost 8 years. I so I know everything about him. I have also minored in animal behavior in college, volunteered at animal rescues all over Nevada, and foster and rescue dogs who have had previous neglect and/or abuse. I say this because I have experience and knowledge with animals, especially dogs. I have told them in the past (like the first time he ever went there) that if he doesn't let you, don't force him. I don't care if they are not trimmed. I have said this repeatedly to Cindy (the other store owner). Apparently, there was no note made about this. Now having said that, back to the story...As he's (Jim) being slightly hostel towards me while explaining the liability, I look at my dogs nails and see that one of his dew claws is cut too short and had been bleeding. I mention it and he changes his tone of voice and says "oh yeah, we put some stopper on it to stop the bleeding." At this point I don't want to hear anymore, but I understand that mistakes happen. I take them home and take a better look at it and his nail is cut half off! His nails are not dark either, and you can see the quick through them. This should not have happened with an "experienced groomer." I called back, not too happy about the situation, and politetly, yet firmly, told him about the nail and that the groomer should have known better, also that I was going to cancel my next appointment with them. I personally felt as though they had made a mistake and were trying to blame my dog. I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me and they should have known better at this point after I had been going there for that amount of time. I feel they are irresponsible, unprofessional, and need to be better about hiring their staff. I do not recommend them to anyone and I personally will stop going there. read more
