I have taken my two labradoodles several times to them and up until now their groomer managed to nick one of them once lightly. I think all of us understand our fur babies might get a light nick from time to time. That being said, a month ago their groomer deeply cut both pups on both of their ears on both sides. Because the cuts and they were cuts not nicks, were covered in something like liquid bandage I didn't notice until the second day. When I called Steve the owner answered and after explaining what the situation was he said take them to the vet and bring the bill. Which I did on a Sunday. Meanwhile he would speak with their groomer Nina. Well, when I visited him with the bill he did a full 180 and interjected Nina into the mix who denied cutting their ears, telling me it was from them shaking their heads. Long story short. If they injure your fur babies they will not stand accountable. They will basically tell you, don't believe your lying eyes, that it's your puppies fault. At basically $300 per visit for both pups you would expect an honest response. In closing, I would never recommend them to anyone and if you do use them, know the moment you confront them for injuries, their charming facade will go out the window, when all the need to do is own up to what happened and cover the vet bill. Oh, Steve insisted he need a detailed itemization explanation on the bill. Now we all know that vets even human doctors most times do not have the time to write a story. And if you have to deal with this when Steve tells you how Nina has a medical background, don't believe it because if she does, she could easily understand what the prescription are use to treat. We have a senior dog (14 years old), Lexxie. Soft coated wheaten terrier. She's very slow and unstable on her feet but still mobile and walks and stands on her own. We haven't had her groomed since November because of a bad grooming incident with a different groomer. We reached out to The Good Dog Spa explaining our reservations which they reassured us they would take care of her and could do mobile grooming as well. Steve came out and reiterated he would take care of Lexxie and explained his process putting my mom's mind at ease. A couple hours later and he had Lexxie all cleaned up. We were so thrilled that she could finally see better and her nails were trimmed nicely. He said she was a good dog and didn't have any issues with her. He also left us with some tips on regular grooming practices. We will definitely be continuing to have Steve come out to take care of our dog. read more

I have been taking my Buddy here for the past 6 months because of Brian. When I initially brought Buddy in, a lady with tattoos was extremely off putting. Nevertheless, I had a great experience with Brian and continued to book him. I called yesterday to see if can get a last minute appointment. I recognized it was the lady with the tattoos on the phone. I knew I had an appointment later that day and I asked questions about how long it would take. I asked a few more questions and I told her I would call back to see if I can make it work. When I called back, I wanted to inquire about availability for Monday. Brian answered and I told him I called a few minutes prior to book an appointment with him. I think the lady in the tattoo must have been speaking to him because he put me on hold. When he came back on, he told me that I am booked for 1pm and told me to have a good day. I just figured I could try to make it work but when I thought about it, I had a feeling that I would be cutting it close. I called back the next day to reschedule. I got the lady again and asked to reschedule for a later time that day. She told me 2pm would be the latest. That time wasn't going to work. So I asked for another day. She rudely told me that I would be charged a cancellation fee since I was canceling a hour and half before the appointment. Let's not forget I made the appointment the day before and 2pm is still available so it's safe to say, they didn't weren't booked and busy. I told her I'll pay the cancellation fee. She told me that I would be charged the full amount ($102) on top of the $102 up pay for the Monday appointment. How is that a cancellation fee?!! I went on to their website...can't find the cancellation policy at all. I will not be going back. I'm sorry Brian, you were great and if you ever get your own thing going, let me know. Tattoo girl is doing way too much and she needs to check her attitude. read more

I have to leave comments everywhere when I'm completely satisfied with a service. This is my third comment on this place. I had to resort to doing my own dog grooming because of the issues we had with groomers. Nothing major, just not a good feeling and we didn't like our baby in cages. After a few years of that, , I called The Good Dog Spa on a whim because it said "cage free." I know it's gotten really expensive to have pets groomed, but they were not as bad as I expected and they hit every service point 100%. Timeliness, quality of service and quality of product. Nina is great with furkids! When I went to pick our Panda (Pom) up, I was shocked to see her just laying comfortably on a little fluffy dog bed. She was so adorable! I can't stop raving about it. I had a great experience here! I called and they were able to get me in the same day--actually, I was able to bring my dog in within 30 minutes, which was amazing. Everyone was super nice and professional, and they took great care of my dog. He looks fantastic and is as happy as can be after his groom. Never had a problem with this business before, but today was not a good day. My wife dropped our dog off and was called an hour or two later to come pick her up or pet. She was called in the work. I called and explained to the owner that my wife is running late and he said very unprofessionally this is a spa not a daycare we charge one dollar a minute please come get your dog. I said OK I don't drive but I will take a Uber up there to pick up my pet. It's not about the late fee. It's about the professionalism of the so-called owner of that business, and when getting there, the lady quoted me two prices for my service... Horrible. read more

The bad; a very nice young man was my assigned groomer. I requested the paw nails to be cut with a clipper not the dermal. A woman with tattoos rudely questioned me from across the room. Trying to talk me into why it's better. There's a reason for my request. My dogs are terrified of the dermal. I am not taking them to any groomer to be tortured. I called to cancel an appointment, days ahead with a woman who answered my call. I was told that the next time I bring my dogs, I'm going to require a deposit for the cancellation, because this is not the first time I've canceled. I advised her that her statement is inaccurate, that was a mistake, but she continued to be a little to aggressive with her point. I've called last minute three times to see if they would take my dogs, but I never cancelled, which kind of steered me away from taking them to that groomer. Giving ample time (5 days) to cancel is acceptable, what is not acceptable is last minute, and no, I will not be putting a deposit. I also gave specific instructions to the kind gentleman that was assigned to my dogs. Please avoid water getting into my dog's ears. The shape of a French bulldog ears will trap water that gets into the canal, it can create a breeding ground for yeast and bacteria, leading to infections like otitis externa. He looked very surprise when I mentioned it, which leads me to believe he has no knowledge on how to handle the breed. The groomer did an excellent job! My pups smelled so nice and their coat soft and shinny. He brushed off all the fur. I would definitely pick him if I ever go back. On all of my previous visits, I would deal with a young man. I was in last minute bind and I didn't want my dogs to smell, and their breath. I called towards later in the day, He went out of his way to fit both of my French bulldogs. I love dealing with him. There was never an issue. He listened, didn't question me or was surprised at the needs of a French Bulldog. I hope to deal with him the next time I return, because people deserve a second chance to make it right. Overall, the shop is clean, I've never seen a a dog in any sort of trauma, which says a lot. This place is quick and convenient. I've called several groomers, one was booked until 4 months later, one was not gonna accept it because, the shop was closing in two hours, one would only take one dog, not two. I hope to have a much better experience the next time I take my beloveds in for grooming. read more

Better off going to Petsmart! Brought my maltipoo for the first time and she left with a severely red behind and possible anal gland rupture. My dog was literally dripping blood a few hours later. I can't express how disappointed I am with this business. We have had our mini golden doodle Millie groomed there several times and today was the last. The woman who groomed her was rude and condescending from the moment I dropped her off and explained what I wanted-this was the first time she groomed Millie. She kept saying how matted her hair was and shaking her head at me. Her hair was long but not matted. We keep her long and I had just combed her a few days prior. Thank goodness my husband picked her up...these pictures speak for themselves. BTW-She had the audacity to tell my husband they usually charge $35 more when they are matted like this! Although many people use The Good Dog Spa for their dogs, Nina is the most amazing CAT groomer!!! I brought my daughter's 8 year old Persian (usually a bit spicy) for the first time, not knowing how he would react. Nina is so good that he didn't even misbehave for her! He came home looking and smelling amazing. We will be back for sure!! My favorite part is that she caters to cats by grooming them before the dogs get there, minimizing stress. I loved this place initially. It's cage free. I dropped off my dog back on January 26th, 2024 and picked him up with a short hair cut I asked for a 1 to 2 and that's what I got. He looked wonderful. I dropped off my dog today April 13th, 2024 and he doesn't even looked like he was groomed. I called and spoke with Stephen who tells me they do not shave his breeds hair because it's not recommended and down the line my dog can go bald. First, I'm dropping off my dog and requesting a specific cut. Why do they think it's okay to groom him how they see fit and not even advise me of this. Second, I've had my dog for 7 years and we have groomed him the same way for 7 years. His groomer in LA is a family friend so I asked her about what Stephen said and she said she's never heard this and it's not true. Third, I asked if they could remedy the situation and shave his hair as I requested and he says no. I will never take my dog here again. read more
