She did a very thorough exam and put together a clear care plan to address a few things I've been putting off. A few helpful details: the office has three chairs, accepts insurance, and is in-network for Montgomery County Public Schools employees (CIGNA plan users, this is a win!). Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building--when you walk up, it may not have the "fancy" look, but the service inside is absolutely top-notch. I waited for 30 min and still no doctor, so I left. I didn't get a call from them at all. They charge patients who don't show up, maybe I should charge them? I'm a long time patient so I kept my 6 mo appt, which was last week. The hygienist (who was great) mentioned there is a note in my file regarding a night guard, would I like them to scan my mouth at this visit? I said no but they checked my insurance anyway and it wasn't covered so I opted out. I went to another dentist who referred me to a surgeon who diagnosed it as a blockage in my salivary gland! How the heck did these "dentists" completely miss that! It was serious! Because I had to pay the other dentist, naturally I had asked for my co pay back. She (Giselle) practically laughed in my face. They went out of their way to dispute MY dispute and went as far as to LIE to my bank and tell that that over the phone I "refused to follow the doctors orders because I didn't agree." How did you misdiagnose that? Oh I know, by not listening to the patient when they tell you exactly where it hurts. "Fat deposit" ? Ur brains are fat deposits. All of the chairs are in one area and patients don't have their own rooms. The space is tiny. Patients and staff are squeezed into one area and I feel like I'm going to bump into someone or something expensive. They really max out the space. In some ways, it's a sign that they're busy but at the same time, it just lacks personal space. It's an issue when the child next to yours is crying because they're scared that causes your child to panic. It's also an issue because parents don't have much room to stay with their younger kids. The hygienist does most of the work and the dentist just pops in at the end to make sure everything is okay. Also, scheduling is such a hassle. My daughter needed to get her cavities filled and they didn't have any availability for about 4.5 months. We also were unsatisfied with their handling of insurance/billing.
