Looked for a nail salon last minute after a botched attempt to paint my own nails for a wedding I would be attending the next day. I found this place via yelp, was able to make an appointment with Angela for the next morning. The owner & nail tech, Angela was so friendly and gave me a great manicure. I wanted something with lace detailing, and she showed me a few options and I ended up choosing a stamp. She took her time, and I ended up loving the results. The pricing was great too, same as the Asian nail places, but better quality in my opinion. $19 for manicure, extra 5 for nail art. Aside from a nice looking manicure, I wanted to find a place that actually cleaned their equipment so I wouldn't be afraid of getting a nail fungus. The owner explained that she purchased a machine to sterilize the equipment, going above the basic disinfecting laws in place. The shop itself is small, only 2 hair stylists, and 1 nail tech, but nothing is lacking. I enjoyed the coziness of it. I expected the place to be decorated Indian because of the name "TAJ", but it wasn't! The owner explained that it was her & her 2 daughters initials. I don't get my nails done too often, but when I do, this is where I will go! If you take a trip here, mention Michelle sent you, and if I get 3 referrals I can get a free manicure :-) I know you'll enjoy this place as much as I Did! I've been going to Jacqueline for almost 6 months now. I had gone to another salon for years and after my last stylist repeatedly damaged my hair and didn't do what I asked I decided to try somewhere new and I am so thankful I did. My hair was a mess, the back was damaged from a razor cut, the color and highlights were inconsistent and looked awful. Jacqueline set clear expectations and let me know it would not be an easy fix and would take a few visits. She not only took her time, listened to my frustration and what I wanted she is a miracle worker. I have loved each and every time she has done my hair. I purchased a groupon for a gel manicure and classic pedicure. I didn't know what to expect, you never know when you try a new nail place. Priscilla is very friendly, I look forward to seeing her every other week and catching up. She also does a great job. I now go twice a month for the same services - gel manicure and classic pedicure. I used to dread getting my nails done, because while it feels good, I hated trying to make small talk, especially when I can't understand what the person is saying. I no longer dread it, in fact, I love it. While I go to Priscilla, the other people are also friendly, so I would definitely recommend trying Taj Salon out. read more

Found Jacqueline through Yelp reviews and made an appointment online as I was looking for someone in the neighborhood. My first haircut with her today is really good - she's helping me get it shaped up again from an uneven cut and grow out some choppy layers so I have no doubt my next haircut will be an "excellent" cut without remants of the old cut! Jacqueline took her time worked hard to get some sharpness and definition to the cut. I'll definitely update with a photo next time. Already I feel great - such an improvement on my old cut. I'm writing this review as I sit here waiting 1 hour and a half from my scheduled appointment ugh! I hate waiting after making an appointment isn't that what they are for? So, I purchased a groupon because I was in need of a cut and a color and didn't feel like paying an arm and a leg for it. I called the salon and made an appointment with Tammy for 4:00 pm. I also called her direct number to confirm. 20 minutes before my appointment she calls me to ask if I can come in at 5 instead. I didn't mind so much so I could run errands. I showed up at 5 and was a little upset that I had to wait 30 minutes. Once I actually sat down in the chair I felt better, Tammy is very nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable. Worst experience ever! Lynn did my hair and she wasn't easy to talk to she came off as rude. She didn't tell me what she was doing to my hair and she had me faced away from the mirror when she was dying my hair.
