I've now been back to Shere-E-Punjab many times to see many bands play. This place is a hotspot in Media for great food and music. I've also tried a few more dishes and found a few in really like. The chicken tikka masala is probably my favorite. I know it's "British" Indian food but it's my favorite so far. They offer 5 spice levels. I go with the 5 but eat a lot of spicy foods, you should start lower and work your way up. The wings here are a surprising treat as well and come with a couple good dipping sauces. The main restaurant and bar is on one side and the stage on the other side of the building. For ticketed shows someone will be standing at the door into the music area selling tickets. They also have a number of free shows throughout the year check out the events section of their webpage. Pushpinder has done a great job with this place, always working with the music community and offering some great local bands. Came on a busy Friday night to see a band and have dinner, not in that order. Service was excellent throughout. We ordered multiple apps and they arrived quickly and were very tasty. I grabbed some daal makhani, garlic naan, and mango chutney to satisfy a craving I was having. I think the food and service here are pretty good. I have had authentic Pakistani food many times as New Yorker, and I understand the need to tone down the spices for the people that might not be familiar with the spice ranges of traditional Pakistani cuisine. They always give plenty of rice and food. Prices are decent. And the people who work there are very nice and helpful. Went here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! I got the goat curry (because I love curries) and the flavor and meat quantity were bountiful! I asked for a spice level 2/5 which was tbh a bit more spicy than I would've liked (and I drench my meals in sriracha and Tapatio haha) so next time I would get 1 or even 0. My partner ordered the lamb korma, which was equally as decadent and flavorful, and they came with a shared bowl of rice (fancy presentation of metal bowls). Service was above average, with the waiter/ maybe even owner coming by our table to ask if we needed anything/how we were enjoying our meal. Finally, the ambiance is formal(ish) and dimly lit and there were Christmas decor around which I appreciated for the holiday. At first Indian music was playing (which I loved) but as the night moved on they changed to slow English pop-rap, unfortunately (oh well :( ). Would definitely return! One last note, the place was pretty empty at 430pm, only two other customers came for in-dining, but there were maybe 7 takeout orders picked up in the time we were there so the food must be good and the place must be popular! read more

Was craving chaat so stopped here randomly for lunch on a Sunday. The vibes were simple and quiet. They offer a lunch buffet but we chose to order a la carte. We got the paneer tikka, samosa, papdi chaat, and aloo tikki chaat. The paneer tikka was our favorite. The chaats were just okay. They satisfied the craving but weren't stellar. I recently visited Shere-e-Punjab with my husband and wow! We had such a great time. I subtracted a star because initially the person serving us was quite rude. The other servers at the restaurant were a lot more kind. I wish I had taken pictures of the restaurant. They decorated beautifully for Christmas! Definitely check them out for all the Christmas feels! We started our meal with the chicken wings. They came out smoking hot and were absolutely delicious. They were extremely flavorful. I got the garlic naan and can't wait to have it again. I also got the chicken saag which I loved. I wish the dish of rice was larger but we'll just order a second rice next time. We had the Christmas martini and the mango martini which were out of this world! I finished the meal with a caramel apple dessert which would have been delicious if it wasn't frozen. The place was decorated so nice for the Christmas holiday and you can tell a lot of hard word and love was put into the concept. From the giant gifts on the wall to the or aments hanging from the ceiling the ambiance was in inviting, warm and welcoming. The food was great, so great in fact my friends and I exchanged a little of each others food to which we all agreed that we could have ordered each others meal, then we agreed that when we came to eat there again it was a great possibility that we would. This really is an incredible Indian restaurant. Their palak paneer is a creamy dream, the chicken korma is rich and flavorful, and the navrattan korma is a lovely medley of flavors. I have been so desperate for some good Indian food that I just knew I had to find an Indian restaurant for dinner after going to the matinee at the Hedgerow Theatre down the road from media. And, I absolutely made the right choice! This quaint Indian eatery offers several seating options all of which had their own appeal. The day was so nice that our choice was to sit on the sidewalk taking in the ambiance of media, which unfortunately included the occasional roaring of Harley Davidson's whose riders thought that those on a beautiful quiet street really were going to impressed by the noise their vehicles could make. It was a perfect day for al fresco dining! The menu is rather typical, which was fine with me because I was ready for some Tikka or Tandoori or Vindaloo always hits the spot when done right! So, the choice was veggie samosa's and chicken tikka masala (Always a good testing of a new Indian kitchen) plus some Malai Kofta. The samosa's were oh so wonderful! Lightly fried batter when opened revealed an interior whose potato and pea blend just seemed to taste better than the average samosa's most places serve. The two chutney's were great and I enjoyed some bonus spoonful's after the samosa's were gone. The service was great and two gentlemen delivered the rice and main course to the table. All with plenty of eye appeal plus garlic naan that one could smell and looked so ready to be devoured! The tikka's sauce was very yummy and the medium heat just right! The chicken was done to perfection. Unfortunately, the sauce for the kofta's was all too similar to the Tikka's sauce minus the heat. One would have hoped to taste some distinction but that wasn't the case. In addition, the mixed vegetable mixture in the Kofta "balls" was not quite up to the quality of the chicken. Not bad mind you but the Kofta did cause a star to drop off of the review. No room for dessert hahaha .... what a silly question to ask! Left totally sated and happy. I ordered the dal and it was perfectly spiced. We all enjoyed our meals and I was able to try the different dishes like the chicken tikka masala. One of my go to places when in Delco. The food is always tasty and warm. I've never had a problem with delivery or when I'm eating in the restaurant. The space is nice and ambient. The servers are also helpful when I need refills or more food. This is my first time at this location. I used to order from the old state road location and it tasted way better never a regret. This time I ordered takeout via yelp with grubhub. It was 55 bucks for 2 masalas and garlic naan. The naan was mediocre. I believe they used margarine instead of butter and the naan was rubbery. The masala tasted off, the taste was sweet and not full of spices. My big prob was with the mango chutney I ordered. It reaked of vinegar and was frothy on the top and crystallized on the bottom. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in town! The malai kofta is wonderful, and portions are huge - perfect for family style dining if you like to try multiple dishes as a group. The live music aspect of this restaurant makes it unique. If you're a fan of the Grateful Dead or live rock/jam band music in general, this is the place for you. The live music is in a separate room from the dining room, and access to the bar is easy. Bar tenders are always personable and quick! The majority of bands have no cover (it's noted online if there's a cover charge), and it's always a fun and high energy crowd. This place is so versatile- we also have gone to watch Phillies games. I stopped by here for a weekend lunch while exploring downtown Media, enticed by all the positive reviews. I love Indian food and have tried most of the places in Philly, so I wasn't sure what to expect from a restaurant in the suburbs. Although I didn't get a chance to partake in the raved about lunch buffet, the food lived up to my high hopes. We started off with the gobhi pakora appetizer, which consists of cauliflower bites fried with chick pea batter. The batter was fried to perfection, creating a perfect texture combination with the crispy exterior and soft interior. Not a bad way to get in my daily vegetable quota either. Then for entrees we went with the classics- palak paneer and chicken tikka masala. The entrees come with a heaping portion of rice, but we added garlic naan on the side for extra oomph. Both dishes were well executed with an aromatic blend of spices and good portion sizes for the two of us, definitely on par with the best Indian food I've had in the city. I would love to come here again and try the lunch buffet since it seems like such a great deal. Media has lots of great options for downtown dining, but I would definitely put Shere-E-Punjab up there on my list of top places to try! read more

I must admit, my hopes for suburban Indian food weren't very high, having recently moved from Philly where I had the most delicious Indian food at my doorstep. But Shere-E-Punjab far exceeded my expectations and earned a spot on my take out rotation! Since I never know what to order I always order veggie samosa, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Super basic I know, if anyone has any other suggestions do let me know. But I do find this ensemble to be a reliable indicator of the restaurant's capabilities. The samosa here were perfect, but hard to mess them up I'd assume. The chicken was absolutely perfect with a medium spice level. So rich and flavorful and just the right amount of creamy. Pretty sure I could eat this every day of my life. The garlic naan was my only little tinge of disappointment as I found it to be slightly undercooked and anemic looking. It was good, because even average naan is still good, but I do certainly prefer others, including but not limited to Trader Joe's frozen naan. But it was nothing a few extra minutes in my air fryer couldn't fix. Some of the best Indian food in the Greater Philadelphia area. I genuinely feel this restaurant is underrated. The seating arrangement is nice and the decor is better than most restaurants in its comparison. I recommend the Navrat Na Korma as a Saabzi and some garlic naan. While the Saabzi is on the pricey side, it is worth it. I will take away a star for smaller than expected proportions. Definitely give it a try. read more
