I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Take 5. Ever since an employee named Mike performed an oil change on my vehicle, my car has been overheating constantly. It got so bad that my vehicle started smoking heavily and left me stranded on the side of the road. What makes this situation even worse is that I had a newborn baby with me when this happened. Being stuck on the roadside with a smoking vehicle and a newborn child was terrifying and completely unacceptable. My family's safety was put at risk because of what appears to have been poor service performed at this location. After I returned for help, I was told someone would contact me about the issue. No one ever called. No one followed up. No one checked to see if I was okay or if my vehicle was safe to drive. The lack of concern and customer service has been unbelievable. The situation became so serious that when I brought the vehicle near another Take 5 location, employees were hesitant to even touch it because of how badly the vehicle was overheating and smoking. That alone should tell you how serious this issue is. Based on my experience, I do not feel the technicians at this location are properly trained or knowledgeable enough to be working on customers' vehicles. A routine oil change should never result in a vehicle overheating, smoking, and leaving a customer stranded. Please stay away from this location. My experience has been stressful, dangerous, and frustrating from start to finish. Instead of taking responsibility and helping resolve the problem, they ignored the situation and left me dealing with the consequences on my own. I expect Take 5 to investigate this matter, contact me immediately, and take responsibility for the damages and hardship this situation has caused. Stay away they only want Poeple to come there if they are going to spend $200.00 or more. I went today for an oil change and after the oil changed I got a whole ear full from the two Poeple that worked on my car as if I don't want to spend 200.00 there I should go to a cheaper place for a oil change as they will loose there job if each car that comes in does not spend 200.00. I been going her for ten years and after they keeping me going on and on that I need to spend more had now made me not want to go there any more. They did not top off my fluids or check my tires. Location is Cortez Rd across from Walmart in West Bradenton. 5 months ago, they did the service/oil change. Nothing unusual. Went to another national chain for the exact same service last Thursday and they couldn't get the oil filter off. It had been over torqued was their definition used; they being the tech and the manager. Went to a second oil change store(different from the others) same thing, just different verbage. Their concern was they could snap or break the oil adapter. That would keep the car from running and require a mechanics shop. Off to a real mechanic, they also noted the over torqued filter. It was fixed for $217.19 Calls to their complaint number, not one returned. They have more than one number found online they are 1-844-541-1767 & 980 365-5166. My experiences with them may not be the same for you; or representative of their business practices. Always review the shops you wish to consider. Yelp and the Better Business Bureau are a good start. This company are not members of BBB but you can see the number of complaints and their similarity of the issues that are filed. I had my oil changed at the Gasner owned Take 5's in both cars for the last couple years. On my last visit, the bolt into the oil pan was cross threaded, all the oil leaked out and the motor seized up. My RAM truck with 40k miles is toast now. The employees at the store are refusing to file an incident report, share insurance information or notify ownership. Conversely since I started making a big deal about the damage, I have received violent threats from the manager. read more

Tech failed to reinstall air filter which resulted in a 10 mile return visit for a quick 2 minute fix and then on a much larger scale the drain plug was not properly installed which resulted in leaking oil on our garage floor. The complaint was disregarded after offering a 50% discount on our next visit. As a consumer paying over $100 for an oil change what would make an establishment believe this type of service would deserve a return visit? Since buying my 2016 Kia Sedona I have taken my van only to Take 5 for oil changes. Last time I had my oil changed the tech doing the work had to call over the supervisor to get instructions on what to do. The tech had stripped the oil filter cover and now was having difficulty removing it. With the help of the manager they got it removed and changed the oil. Fast forward to today. I go in to have the oil changed and no one in the place can get the oil cap off after the last guys at Take 5 overtorqued it on. They said I'd have to take it someplace else...I will, and I'll never bring it back to Take 5 again. You just lost a customer because of your incompetent techs. Now I need to buy another oil cap because your tech ruined this one and I still need to get my oil changed. A similar incident happened to my son and his 2012 Sedona. The tech cracked the oil cap trying to remove it, then they told him to limp home and find another place to get his oil changed. Burnt oil was smoking under his hood and the oil pressure light was on. A tech had tied a rag around the cracked oil cap hoping it would last until he got home...it didn't. They never made it right, and wouldn't admit it was their fault. It ruined his engine. read more

I took my vehicle to be serviced to the Take 5 Oil Change location on 5202 Cortez Rd W. Bradenton Florida. I also had them check my tires. When I returned home I noticed that my tire valve caps were not put back on my tires which was on them before I went to Take 5. I went back to the same location and asked the service person to put them back on and I was told that they could not find the tire valve caps!! I find the service people to be very incompetent-did they throw them out?? Obviously they do not recheck the vehicle to make sure that everything is good to go and replaced the parts that were on it before they worked on the vehicle. Now I have to buy all new tire valve caps. I do not recommend going to this location if you want a thorough job done. I certainly will not be returning!! read more

Had a GREAT first time experience with Take 5. When I pulled in, all bays were full but the wait for my turn didn't take more than 5min (smart choice of name!). I had several technicians; each were very personable, smiling and engaging. They worked in concert with one another, each with their role in quickly changing my oil, topping off fluids and checking that everything was working well. All done while I relaxed in the comfort of my own car. It was an overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend this service and convenient location. I wouldn't use this place... they cross threaded my oil filter, which dumped all of the oil all down the entire bottom half of my vehicle and almost blew up my engine! When I realized what had happened I had to stop and pay another mechanic to redo the oil change... I came back to this place to get my $ back, because they f*cked up and they said that wasn't a possibility, so in exchange for this royal f*ck up I was given a "Next Oil Change Free" coupon...but...when I went to use the coupon was told they will not honor it... because the person who wrote the free oil change coupon no longer worked there, despite having gotten it to compensate for their company's f*ck up which now was never refunded or reimbursed for at all! IT SHOULDN'T MATTER....!!! I seamed skeptical at first but as soon as one of the representatives came out i pulled in they had class and composure and were the most polite group i had ever worked with. and i am not one to exaggerate one but. you could compare them to the service of chick-flila. You stay in your car the whole time so no need to store your private belongings. They had a fan that was blowing into my car as i waited and offered me water! They are very professional and friendly, Ritchie took care of me he was great very knowledgeable, professional and helped me find the best options for my car he gave me a gave me a bottle of water they cleaned my windows topped off all of the cars fluids filled my tires even cleaned out the leaves and branches out from under the hood all in just a few minutes it was only a few dollars more than what Walmart charges me and I didn't have to wait 2 hours! Take 5 10 minute oil change took 30 minutes from the time I pulled into the service bay. The car in front of me also took at least 20 minutes. I paid $95 for a $55 oil change. I was told I needed a new air filter. My filter was practically new. I was given a 3 month revisit sticker reminder after getting a Mobile 1 Oil change. That's a waste. Staff wore masks under their noses. I was told I have an oil pan gasket leak. That is something that needs to be fixed before the oil is changed. I had to ask to get the tire pressure checked. The service person did not check to determine the proper TP before adding air and overfilled. (Even adjusting for hot tires.) read more

I checked my oil and it was low. Checked everything out my belly pan was intact. So I went to the Take 5 oil change on Cortez in Bradenton. Drove up they took care of me right away. I told them I wanted 0/40 oil and that's when it started. He told me that it's the wrong oil. I told him I have been running this weight oil for years. So that is what I want. So they proceeded to work on the car I heard snapping and breaking plastic. So I asked if they had trouble with the belly pan ? The one tech just shrugs. So the oil change was completed I paid the bill and tipped then. So I left and did not feel right so I pulled into the next parking lot open the hood and behold my belly pan is missing. I closed the hood and went back to the store and pulled up and blocked there bays. The manager came running out I could tell he was guilty of something. I confronted him that my belly pan was missing he said I was never there. I told him I had checked the oil and it was there before I came in . Got very heated he was lied through his teeth.
