Without hesitation, the employees and the owner rushed over, moved the cones, and guided me into the oil change center. They quickly diagnosed the problem: my coolant line had completely broken, and all of my antifreeze had leaked out. At that moment, I could have been vulnerable to being overcharged for a repair I knew nothing about. Instead, the owner went above and beyond--personally driving to Napa twice and even trying the Dodge dealership to find the right part. He was upfront about the price (around $200) and even apologized for the cost, though it was completely out of his control. His care reminded me of how my dad or grandpa would have looked after me--genuine, protective, and trustworthy. Because of his quick action, my engine was saved from what could have been devastating damage. He got me back on the road with a very reasonable bill, and I left feeling both relieved and grateful. I even tipped because I felt guilty it wasn't more for the time and effort they put into fixing my beloved Journey (or the "Ourney," since the J fell off!). All the owner asked in return was my continued business--which he now has for life. Have taken my old European car there, esp. after the dealer told me it "wasn't leaking coolant"…read morealthough I saw coolant drips on the driveway, and had to keep adding coolant. Twice at the dealer, and they basically told me there wasn't a problem. Peter B worked on it, and said the issue is the hose size -- metric vs. US. If someone uses a US hose, it will be not be exactly right, and will leak once the car heats up and everything is at pressure. No more problems after Peter B worked on it. Also took my older Camry there, and asked about my newer Camry. Peter B (ie, the phone staff) was upfront about things they can work on, and things they don't. They are very busy, and I prefer to know this information before booking an appointment for 6 weeks in the future. So, I think is a time saver to have a thorough discussion on the phone at Peter B. (I hate these webforms dealers are using now -- there's a) no place to record specific issues, they basically only want a simple job, like a 40k checkover, etc. and b) dealer service intake staff never read the webform anyway.
