Hour wait, installed the wrong oil, once it was fixed by the entire crew, once I pull out I received a zero oil pressure note and my engine immediately shuts off. I've never had an oil change where I can stay in my car so for that fact alone (and the fact that they are open on sundays) I'm giving this place 5 stars. They really aren't joking when they say they can provide a fast oil change! I pulled up at 12:20PM for an oil change. I had filters in my car already because I planned to get them changed when I left but they took care of those for me. I left no later than 12:40 and was honestly amazed at the entire experience. Not even two weeks ago I took my car to get an oil change. I have had to put 4 quarts of oil in my car the first week after oil change. I took vehicle to mechanic to check for oil leaks and there was none anywhere. I then asked mechanic if I'm getting full synthetic so it doesn't burn as quick what would make it burn up in a week and I was told only way that could be is if all the oil was not fully replaced. My oil cost $15 a quart. So not only did I spend $90 on a oil change but then an additional $60 adding more oil. I will not be returning to this location. read more

I actually didn't end up getting a service here, but the employees were fantastic. Unfortunately my make and model of car couldn't be serviced BUT the employee (i wish i remembered his name! sorry!) was SO kind and apologetic. He showed me the physical list they have of models that can't be serviced because of some specifications that went over my head (my brains fault, not his) so I knew he was telling the truth. He even offered an extra water bottle and a complimentary windshield wash even though I didn't spend any money. Such nice guys that work there!! read more

The only problem I've been having with them is that they're a little too popular and that sometimes the wait could take some time. I was really hesitant about going to a mechanic other than the ones I have used over the past decade but was very impressed. My cousin came with me with the intention of being my ride home because who gets an oil change at 5 pm and waits for it lol! Well! They are a drive in service so I never left my car. I've been here several times and waited over two hours in line watching people get out of the line in anger and he very visibly does not care about the loss of business. I visited the 5220 Brook Rd, Richmond - VA location yes yesterday, 8/28/20. The experience was not great. Poor, honestly. None of the workers had masks on. Masks were NOWHERE to be found. They were leaning into my car, breathing on my friend and I, and it made us very, very uncomfortable - we're in a global pandemic. I haven't been to a Take 5 in over a year, and when asked if I wanted the same oil as last time, I said sure, expecting them to remind what it was and what the cost was, or at least point to a sign somewhere explaining. No one did. I ended up being charged over $80. Did I have any idea it was gonna be $80? No. Never communicated it to me. Did I want to argue? No, because the energy was really hostile - it was clear they just wanted all customers to leave (there was a line of cars behind me, only one lane was open). Like very irritable, all of them. I'm also looking at the service check list, and I'm not sure that half of these things were even done. My windshield was definitely not cleaned, but it's marked as cleaned. They were moving sluggishly, like they didn't want to be there or servicing the cars, and for that part I don't know that I blame them - it was SO hot outside and their fan wasn't working. I'd be irritable too. But as someone who worked in the service industry, the irritation affects the customer experience. read more

I went there about 2 weeks ago around 5 PM. Didn't even get into the bay till 6PM only to have them completely ruin my car rushing finish my oil change to close the shop. Then they sent my car to Tuffy up the street to get it fixed, offered me no loaner nor rental while I was out of my car for 2 weeks. Take 5 finally calls and says my car is ready at Tuffy. I go up there and had to jump through burning rings just to get my car back. Argued with the people up there who wouldn't let me get my car back even though I had my insurance card in my hand proving the car is mines. I finally seen the receipt to the work being done and it had BIG BLACK PRINT saying THIS NEEDED ASAP meaning the work wasn't even completed. And lo and behold , to my avail... my car struggled to make it back home which is onlt a few blocks is still messed up ! Tuffy and Take 5 both shrugs their shoulders as if they actually finished fixing what THEY messed up. I just went to get a simple oil change and now I'm out of a car. Worse experience ever ! went to get oil changed Monday after holiday weekend around 1:30pm, was pretty busy but after waiting a bit i was given a cold water out of the fridge and told thank you for patience. the guys working were in a good routine very polite and professional, the oil i wanted was out of stock and they didn't hesitate to run next door and buy more while i waited. customer service was on point! also i was paying attention to safety and since my window was down whole time i could hear everyone vocalizing safety checks and communicating with each other, being that it's a fast paced environment with a lot of dangers slips etc that's a really good sign that a location that it's priorities in order. props to everyone that helped me with my vehicle and shout out to management for running a safe polite well "oiled" crew i'll be back for the next one for sure ! read more

Second time I've been to Take 5 in the past couple of weeks that they refused me service. First time I was refused service 35 minutes before close because they had cars in the bays and a car at each bay so they wouldn't accept me. Today they closed at 6 although their posted hours are till 7. I arrived at 6:30 while they were finishing with a car. They rarely use their 3rd bay and have lost business to Jiffy Lube now twice. I prefer Take 5 just don't think they care to grow sales. Matt does a great job and in general they do good work. Just wish they'd update their hours to reflect reality and wish they would allow cars in line up to closing time. Wish I could give a 5 star. read more
