I I have been a loyal customer of Loretta Seredni for 42 years. Under her leadership, I received excellent service - both mechanical and customer. Loretta has retired, and things are not the same. In January 2024, this business replaced my catalytic converter.During the process, I was spoken to rudely. I did not feel as though my business was appreciated. When I reported that my check engine light was still on, I was told that I needed to "drive it off." I know nothing about cars. I have always relied on Loretta's expertise. So, I extend this trust to the new management. In June, about 375 miles later, the check engine light is still on. Take the car back to Seredni on Ironbridge Road. Now they tell me that the check engine light is on because I need a new 02 sensor. I think the 02 sensor was needed in January. I have no idea how much damage that flawed diagnosis has done to my car. But I am now also having electrical problems. They charged me to tell me that if there is a problem with the electrical system, it is intermittent and can't be diagnosed. I drive through a car wash and immediately see the problem I initially reported. There is no light behind my speedometer. I am told that there is a hidden switch somewhere in my car, and if I bring it back, they will find it and get the light to come on. The location is so secret that it took me two minutes to find it on the web. I am not going back. I am looking for a new mechanic who wants mybusinesss. I really miss Loretta. read more

I had new tires put on my horse trailer. They did not replace valve stems which I paid for. I ended up with a flat tire from dry rotted valve stems with 2 horses in my trailer. I am 55 year old female. I had to pay a towing company to change the tire and they wouldn't reimburse me. Poor service! read more

I went to seredni tire & auto for a simple oil change, and pulled out of their parking area with a bolt in my tire. I went back because my vehicle was knocking as I pulled out, and headed a mile or so down the road. I explained the situation, they checked it out, and then basically blamed me, saying I must have ran over it as I was driving down the street, even though it happened on THEIR property. They didn't offer to fix it, or even apologize, considering it was THEIR FAULT. On top of all that, there is absolutely, NO PLACE to park when you arrive. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Do not go here. At least for an inspection. They only care about making as much money as possible. In my short time I experienced this is what happened 1. They told me that something was missing on my car that wasn't missing. It was shoved up under the car, they did this! And they treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about when it came to my own car. 2. When they called the parts store (dealership), they asked for the most expensive quote possible. The man who called the parts store was asked which part to get for the car, and he simply said "Just tell me the most expensive price" WOW 3. They told me my car wouldn't pass inspection next year, instead of telling me what I could do to fix it, they tried to buy it off of me as scrap. The car is only 10 years old!!!! 4. I didn't get to talk to any mechanics, only people who didn't actually look at the car. When I had questions, the SAME GUY who tried to rip us off gave us the classic redirection that any incompetent salesman would give. He essentially said that my car was missing all of the electronics needed to properly power the lights (he never even looked at the car so when I asked him for the explanation, instead of getting the mechanic, he just sat on his fat butt and did nothing GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE GUYS), when the only reason my light didn't work was because of water getting in it. So without ever seeing my car get inspected, and without getting any real answers, they slapped a rejected sticker on my car, and said it'd be 600 freaking dollars to get it inspected (despite them saying it would never pass because of the problems it has ???) In conclusion, don't go here. I made this account just to post this ad. Only a rich fool would go here for an inspection after reading this. My family has taken our cars to Seredni for years, and been satisfied. However, last Monday I dropped my car off to have a nail removed from a tire. 2 hours later, received a call: "Your car is ready but there's a problem...our mechanic ran into another car while trying to park yours. Guess he tried to thread the needle but missed. Sorry. Get an estimate and he will pay for it." The side door and back panel was scraped and crushed in. Took car to a body shop and called Seredni with estimate. I waited until the next day hoping they would call so I could pick up the money to start repairs. No call. I called and was told the mechanic was "off" today. The Service manager said: "I don't see what the problem is." Throughout this experience I never got an unsolicited call from anyone about the visible or underlying damage to my car; details of the crash; the impact on my insurance; a sincere apology, or when money would be available to fix my car. Went to fix my tire. Should have been an in and out service. It wasn't exactly. I waited at least an hour to get it done. The customer service was pretty typical nothing that stood out as extraordinary. I can appreciate that they took the time to explain to me how my tire could have become flat and they demonstrated some level of patience with me because I did have a few questions and requested to see the hole in my tire. Some concerns I had: 1. They have a keurig coffee machine and no k cups. (It was early, I was cranky and coffee-less -- which is usually available at most car repair places) 2. The owner has a very large (although quiet) dog that I wasn't expecting. I'm not a fan of animals and I'm actually afraid of dogs that are taller than my knees. A sign or something to warn customers that a large pet is there wouldn't be unreasonable. Plus the dog just kind of lounges around on the same furniture that the customers sit on. 3. At the end when receiving my car back, the mechanic was talking to me,, very friendly and he was talking to me. The guy at the counter ( might have been the owner, not sure) interrupts him and tells him "when you're finished with her go do ... xyz- Ugh RUDE!! I'm giving two additional stars than what I wanted to rate because they did accommodate me the same day. (I called ahead and had my car towed) and the mechanic was pretty cool. read more

This is a weird review. I'm not a driver, but I've actually had multiple friends go there. Each time its been a " how much and how long" thing. The most simple really was a late state inspection. My friend ended up needing the air brake light fixed, which is why her inspection was late I guess, but they got her going with a passed inspection in a few hours, compared to many places expecting you to leave the car. Just for the initial inspection, then another day for the work. Another time a friend from new york was visiting and the day before she was supposed to leave, her right tire quit turning. We got three estimates based on a few potential issues. After they did whatever tests to determine the problem, they gave us options on how much needed fixed. They had her back to new york a day late and a few hundred less in her pocket, but they go her there as quickly and cheaply as they could. The chance to gouge was there and they didn't do it. read more

I've been going to Seredni Tire on Lakeside ave for MANY year. I mean at least 20 years. I've never had a bad experience. The Managers are great and the mechanics are wonderful at explaining anything that is going on with your car. I've even brought a cars I was thinking about buying there for them to take a look and see if it's a good car to buy. I scheduled to have to have four tires installed on my truck and a four wheel alignment. Talked to two different people a week before the install. Everything is good to go. Day of the install...Alignment machine is Down...to date alignment machine is down...said they took my truck to a different store to have it aligned ticket mileage in and out was the same. It took almost two weeks after multiple calls to get a generic copy of a front end alignment receipt. Contacting my bank to have the 89.00 refunded. THIEVES DO NOT USE!!!! read more

Where to start? Horrific? Terrible? Awful? Horrendous? It is very hard to start with the proper word so I will just choose them all and move forward. So they completely botched my repair that they asked to do for me when I came in for an inspection months earlier. I had budgeted about 350 bucks for this repair so it was an investment in keeping my car on the road and always service this car at proper intervals and am a little anal about it to be honest. So they take my car to replace the exhaust gaskets. It is a 3 to 4 hour job that requires a good amount of skill to perform. They finished at the end of the day and left my keys and car parked for me to pick up after they closed. First off, this is a Good Year franchise and it stinks of smoke inside. It is dirty but at least they have a TV and Wifi so I won't complain much more on the ambience of the joint. I pick my car up and quickly figure out that something is wrong. It is driving like it has lost major horsepower and it is a turbo so I figure they must have done something to unhook the turbo and forgotten to hook it back up after? I am not happy but figure it was an honest mistake and I will take it back the next day and they will fix it. I wake up and call them and they tell me to bring it back in and they will fix it. THREE HOURS of waiting later, it is "fixed" I am told. Needless to say I have lost all confidence in them and have no intention of ever using them again....at this point. But wait, it is far from over....the following Monday my "check engine" light goes on so I am near my Volvo specialist and call him to take a look at it. They put it up on the lift and take me out to look under the car. They tell me there was "no oil left on the dipstick" and that the repair done by Seredni was totally botched resulting in the O ring being torn and oil shooting out from the turbo charger return pipe that feeds oil to the turbo. Basically, they yanked the turbo charger around when they were doing the gasket repair and tore the ring that kept the oil inside the engine. This was documented and cost another 127 bucks PLUS an oil change I had to do as a precaution. Needless to say I was not happy. I went with the receipt from Paul's Volvo BACK to Seredni again having now taken up two full days on needless car repair issues. I showed them the diagnosis by Paul's Volvo and they resisted, then called Paul's to see what they had to say. They then came back and said they were putting the car on the lift so the mechanic who botched the job could see "if he thinks it was possible for him to have split the O ring and caused the oil leak" I am not sure what to think at this point but play along hoping they come to their senses and realize they messed up....big...time. Well the owner comes back and say, "yeah we did it but I am not paying for the repair" I ask him where his logic is in this and he tells me " you should have given me a chance to fix it, we have a two truck and could have come and gotten the car " etc. I look at him with my best, "are you nuts" look and he just looks at me. I ask what he intends to do now that he has wasted so much time and fully knows they botched the job. He tells me he will pay half. I am no idiot, I take his check and am willing to just let it go until...and this is the clincher... he says " Sorry about that, but we really don't like Volvos or VWs much here" At that point I went to my bank to cancel the original charge and start an investigation. Idiots!!!! DO NOT GO HERE OR ANY OTHER SEREDNI TIRE, they are clueless! read more

When I went in I was greeted at the door. I told them the concern I had with my front right tire. A tech was willing to come out and look at it and he let me know it wasn't a major problem. I keep trying to like this place because it is so conveniently located, but I can't. It's a mess and you'll realize this when you walk in. There's an old lady behind the counter that they call "the dragon" lol, and she is constantly getting on the workers at the counter about screwing stuff up. It's actually kind of funny. It's like one of those family business reality shows. Anyway, the past few times I've been there they haven't been able to see me, which doesn't help me any. I've gotten a whole set of tires installed here before with no issues, but the last time I went was definitely the last time I'd be back. I only asked for 2 new tires on my van. They rotated all of them without asking (NOT what I wanted) & broke my tire air pressure sensor in the process, on one of the tires they weren't supposed to take off. They swore it wasn't there to begin with but I knew that wasn't possible. We'd had a slow leak for several months. The light would come on, we'd add air, the light would go off (obviously present & working). They treated me as if I had no idea what I was talking about, especially the lady behind the counter. She was babysitting her grandkids while working and was so condescending and rude, as if hoping I'd start a fight. I left and explained what happened to my husband. He called and talked them into replacing the sensor for free. I go back, they install it. I'm told I have to drive at least 30 minutes for it to reset because there's no programming to do. They gave me the box it came in and I drive away (I was dieing to get out of the lady's mean stare). The box clearly states, "program before installing." My sensor doesn't work to this day. They absolutely SUCK. read more

In honesty I've been satisfied with their work over the years. But things change. As part of a state inspection I needed a rear brake job and a left inner tie rod. I knew the brakes were old and there was an issue with the front end and ask them to fix it. After the work I had some issue's with the brakes. I returned the car twice and was told they work fine. The bottom line is one side brake,off and on got stuck and over heated. After spending $150 for the job I spent another $40 for material's and on my day off fixed it my self. As for the front end, its a long story. But the short of it is. During during the state inspection it was determined I needed a left inner tie rod. Later on the road the car handles the same. I take it back. They balance the tires and replace the outer right tie rod. The problem with that is I replaced that tie rod a few months earlier. After that I'm over the place and take it to a different shop. $300 later they replace the inner right tie rod and it now drives like a new car. The question is, how do you miss a problem like a bad tie rod and replace a new one? All and all I lost $300-400 and my confidence in that shop. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I wish I had better things to say about this auto shop but... I just don't. But my experience this weekend was shockingly disappointing. I had a minor complaint about the work I received this weekend. While asking for a manager, a lady quickly gave me the card of the manager that was working during the time of the incident. And starting verbally reprimanding an employee in front of customers and his co-worker while on the sales floor!!!! I then asked for her name since she was the manager that was working. She was Loretta Serendi, THE OWNER!!! You would think that by it being a family business they would treat their employees with a little more respect. Loretta Serendi had absolutely no regard for her employees. She quickly gave up her Asst Mgr Brenda and the sales assoc Derek. If she would've had ANY class, she would have simply apologize to me and then addressed the issue with Brenda and Derek privately. I was so disappointed. If they treat their employees like that in public, I can only imagine what happens in private. Never again!!! read more

On 10/3, my truck wouldn't start. Towed to Seredni in Lakeside. Was told it was the starter. Billed for diagnostic Test, new starter, labor, shop supplies to the tune of $549.29. Next day same thing. Truck wouldn't start. Towed again. Another starter and was told that the starter they replaced it with on Monday had been a refurbished starter! What? Paid for a new starter. They replaced (supposedly) again with a new starter. Well you guessed it truck wouldn't start on Wednesday. Towed back and was told this time it was the cables to the battery! Probably was the battery cables all along and who knows if the starter was ever replaced! Will never go back! Run from this location as they have no clue what they are doing! So much for the diagnostic test that was $95! read more

FAIR WARNING!! Simple job to install valve stem on dually camper. Mounted tire and just 500 miles later had loud cracking in rear. Pulled over and my tires were about to fall off! Had this happened at 65mph who knows what would have happened, but was coming off exit ramp. Road tech came out pulled wheel to find all 8 studs had snapped and stated improper torque or under-torque of wheels as noted by damage to stud holes in rim (need a new rim). Seredni blamed this on recall for E450 lug/studs (Google it yourself; there is NONE and only 1 report of wheels coming off an E450 on all the internet!). Long story short, stuck with $500 repair bill and they hoped they could help me on any other car repair issues.....really?? read more
