I took my car in for a repair that's a normal wear and tear part that usually cost me $550 elsewhere and after they did their diagnostic (which is $77 that they don't apply to the price of the work like other shops) they told me it would be $700 for that part and $170 to find out where an oil leak was coming from. They then call and say the oil leak was in two locations that would cost over $4,000 to fix it all. One location I had already priced and was quoted $650 elsewhere and they were charging more than double. They also were recommending that I get an oil change, which I had already done a week earlier, change my rear brakes which I had done a month earlier and checked them again after the visit and they were fine, and change both my engine and cabin air filters which I do myself and was done a couple weeks before. In total they wanted to charge over $6000 and for a lot of work that was already completed before I got there. It looks like they will take advantage of you if you don't know some of the things to look for or what you need before you go in.
