You can buy flowers by the bouquet (anywhere from $7-$30) or you can ask about bulk purchases. I also like that they have performers that play guitar, piano, sing, etc. This farmers market doesn't compare to the midtown farmers market, but a great farmers market if you're looking to simply buy produce and fresh items. There is plenty of parking. There are no food trucks or food stands with already made food. Also, no dogs allowed.

Thank goodness we did stop because we ended up buying THE BEST strawberries we have EVER tasted! We went on July 17th so maybe it has something to also do with the time of year and being right in the tail end of strawberry season (typically Apr.10 - July 30). What makes them the best? They had to be the sweetest strawberries we've ever tasted and had a soft but firm texture that made it even more spectacular. I guess it's not entirely appetizing to compare a strawberry to a piece of ribeye but it seems like you could taste that these strawberries were grown with just the right amount of water, received just the right amount of sun, and picked just at the right time in the harvest season; similar to when you experience an amazing cut of ribeye that is perfectly cooked that cuts like butter. These strawberries are normally $2 per basket but you can buy 6 baskets for $10. The family that owns this farm are not shy about letting you taste the strawberries before you buy so that should give you no reason not to be happy with your purchase. And finally, they're pesticide free supposedly which explains why they're typically smaller than what you'll see at the local grocery store. Strawberry season seems to be coming to an end in 2011. If it really does end on July 30, you only have a limited amount of weeks left to try these amazing strawberries! I probably should have bought another 6 baskets before heading back to the Bay Area.

There are farmers and food trucks, artisan stands, prepared foods, hot foods, and musicians... many of whom you'd find at other farmers markets around Sacramento. It's a great friends and family hang out as there are a good number of parking spaces, tables/chairs, and lawn area for picnics. My only gripe is that it begins too early at 4 pm and ends too soon at 8 pm. I'm lucky if I'm off work by 6 pm so I don't get to enjoy this market as frequently as I'd like.

You can catch the market every Thursday from 4-8pm at the Elk Grove Aquatic Center. If you've been to the other markets in town, it's pretty similar! There are vendors for food, desserts, food trucks, produce, and retail! This was their first week so there were about 5-7 food vendors such as Lumpia Truck and Sacto Pop Up Truck, Love & Macarons, Wheel Lemonade, as well as about 4-5 produce stands. There was live music, and plenty of benches, chairs, and tables to sit at! Many of them are in the sun though, so it would also be wise to just bring a picnic blanket and pick a nice spot in the shade and stay socially distanced!
