If you are looking for great authentic Greek food this is not it. The Gyro sandwich was bland at best. The lamb meat mealy. The tzatziki sauce was just straight sour cream with not a hint of Greek yogurt. And no lettuce. Just gnarly. read more

Cindy, the waitress from NY, ROCKS! My aunt recommended this place for its pizza. I just like good Italian food. I ordered the cheese ravioli and my aunt had the personal sized cheese pizza. She said she doesn't get to eat pizza often and this place serves the best. My dinner came with a yummy salad with mozzarella cheese and a delicious homemade dressing. Freshly made garlic bread, completed my meal. We throughly enjoyed our meals and had a fun time chatting Cindy up about her memories of NYC. I ended the evening with a cannoli drizzled with chocolate sauce. So rich and delicious I took half of it back home with me to have as a late night snack. I had to take one star off because the food was extremely HOT when it came out. It certainly is better than being served a cold dish however, I find I enjoy my meal better when it's hot yes, but not scorching to the point of having to wait ten minutes before I can really taste it. The Greek salad is amazing! Fresh, crisp. loaded with fresh everything and tastes spectacular. I'm so glad I ordered the large so I get to enjoy it again later today. Pizzas are delicious and the best crust I've ever eaten. My go to when we visit from Georgia is the Vesuvio. Owners are incredible and the staff so friendly. Fast friendly service. Pretty clean, you can see into the kitchen so you know they're preparing your food with care. I saw other reviews saying that the greek salad was good, got it as an appetizer and it was indeed good. Fried okra was crispy and delicious also. I got a small calzone with broccoli, spinach onions and mushrooms and the vegetables seemed very fresh: it was cooked well and the small is big enough for two people to split. Cannolis were also very good; freshly filled to order I think. Only thing negative i have to say is that the calamari was weird, like not spit it out gross just not the freshest and definitely not on par with most other Italian restaurants. I have been living in this area for 11 years now. Out of all the pizza business that have come and gone and the fast food pizza, hands down Takis Pizza is the best. Every week as a treat to myself I order the large cheese pizza with extra cheese and extra sauce. IT IS AMAZING! Cooked perfect! The crust is like no other, the crust is crispy to perfection, the sauce and cheese, OMG, it is amazing. We have also ordered the Greek salad which is amazing as well. The small will feed three people. Its like a hidden gem. You must try. They have everything an Italian restaurant has to offer. Eat in, take out, or have delivered. They are quick in any case scenario. I also have a pet peeve about restaurant cleanliness and this restaurant is top notch. Including the bathrooms. I ordered two pastas, a salad, and a LRG pizza and i was priced 70 dollars for it., when usually, this would be around 50. The pizza i recieved wasnt even in a large size, more like a medium; and it was salty, and falling apart. Takis Greek Restaurant in Eustis Florida, is my favorite place to eat. I have searched for years to find a Greek restaurant place that cooks close to my Yaya's cooking. I just happen to talk to the owner Sia and mentioned my favorite dessert and how no one makes or has it. It just happens to be her's too. So, she made it for me. Excellent food and staff, however waiting longer than told for my $60 pick up order (plus $10 tip I added), I asked to ring me up for a coke. Counter person said $2.88. I said no not a 2 liter but from the fountain. I was in complete shock at that price as he said, "it is a 32oz though"... lol. Please reduce the price of your fountain as that's insane! I'm also a huge fan of their Gyro Plates. You get a greek salad in your meal PLUS a general helping of meat PLUS you get cheese pita bread. It is a good combination that makes for a scrumptious meal. Usually don't finish it, its too much for me but taste so good! Staff are friendly. I'm not one to usually sit down in there *on the go hurry at lunch* but when I use to, I couldn't fault them on anything. I went to Takis with a group of friends just yesterday and the food was alright. The server took my cup and my friend's cup to refill and I remember her saying that she wouldn't switch the cups. I had an unsweetened tea and my friend had a diet coke. He immediately took a sip of his refill and said she switched our cups, so he started drinking out of the cup she returned to me, and he was satisfied with it. So, I assumed what he tasted was tea. He loves diet coke and doesn't drink anything else but diet coke. When I took a sip of my drink, it was carbonated and tasted an awful lot like diet coke. When the server returned, I kindly told her that there was diet coke in my cup instead of the iced tea I ordered and she frowned at me. I asked her if I could get an unsweetened ice tea to go and, and she responded with, "just so you know a refill after the second one is a second charge. I didn't switch the cups." She looked so unhappy with me as if I was the one who put diet coke in my cup. I thought she was going to charge me for another drink, so I changed my mind about getting a to-go iced tea --But she was kind enough to get me an iced tea to go anyway? I didn't particularly like how she made me feel it was my fault for saying that there was diet coke in my drink. I don't remember her apologizing for it either. I felt like I was a bad person for getting a free cup of tea because she had to tell me straight off the bat that it was another charge if I wanted it. If it weren't for the unapologetic dirty look I got and for pointing out the diet coke in my cup, I would have given a better review. I know diet coke won't kill me, but I don't appreciate feeling like someone else's mistake was my fault. Other than that, the food is good. read more

I was in Eustis for a funeral. My sis in law, who is a resident of Eustis, strongly recommended Takis and I was VERY impressed for this small town establishment. The Greek salad is HUGH and was so very good. We also ordered a small numerous toppings pizza.....the dough was outstanding and the pizza was fresh, HOT and the perfect size for 2 people. We went to restaurant day after they opened following the closing due to Covid 19 measures. The staff and cook were up and running to full potential.....lots of "regulars" were there also which tells me that this is a great hometown restaurant. Really good food! They deliver too, which is always a huge plus. My only downfall was that we ordered two entrees (which came with side salads), and an extra greek salad (because it's his favorite), but they only brought one thing of dressing for all three salads.. We've eaten here forever and there have been quite a few changes to the restaurant over the past few years. We ordered our food the exact way we always do and we got home and the order was wrong so I called the store where the woman who answered remembered me and my tomato allergy (which is why I order no sauce). She corrected us on how to order, even though it's been the same (correct) order for years. We drove 20 minutes back to pick up the new one and she made a point to tell us that "there's nothing wrong with this one. There's just cheese and meat in it."
