I have no choice but to wear glasses, and I'm not a candidate for contact lenses, so I'm always on the hunt for stylish eyewear. Glasses are more to me than seeing or reading a book. It's part of who I am. So, I adore places like Takle, which specialize in various styles, colors, and brands. Also, they are reasonably priced considering my prescription is high. Yes, I spend close to a thousand dollars on one pair, but because I have to wear glasses, I always purchase two to three pairs a year. Update Dec. 2025: still 20/20 as of annual exam THIS WEEK! On the OD's official report -- my near vision is important, only time I pick up minuscule cheaters -- only a 1 or 1.5, not the 2.25 or 2.75 like before -- is in the dimmest light, for the finest detail work or super tiny print not meant to be read by normal human eyes. In daylight or typical indoor light, these multifocal, toric IOL's are fantastic, akin to the best contact lenses i ever had, but w/out all the soaking, cleaning, etc. read more

The atmosphere is nice and the staff is knowledgeable. However, they need to work on seeing patients in a timely manner.

​Absolutely no communication in Griffin or Locust Grove office. Nobody calls you back and they don't tell each other anything. I have been trying to talk to the billing depth forever. I called on Thur. and told the receptionist I would be there to see Danille on Fri. At 8:15. When I arrived she was not there. They knew she wasn't going to be there but they didn't call and let me know. She's in a meeting, or she' busy, at lunch or in Locust Grove. The Doctor i saw was Doctor C. He was amazing. He was so professional but he left. They owe me money which I have been trying to get for the past 7 or 8 months. I cannot get a call back let alone my money. This office is very disorganized. My mom had 5 appointments made and was never seen. the first appointment, we showed up in Griffin and they claimed the doctor and appt was set for Locust Grove but I was very specific when making the appt. We left and the front desk person took her name and ph # to call and reschedule the appt because their computers were down. We never got a call back. The next 4 appointments were all cancelled by the office because the doctor wasn't there anymore or wasn't going to be in the office. My mom saw another eye doctor and she had a bad stye inside her bottom eyelid. She suffered with this for weeks as we had appointments scheduled and then cancelled one after another. read more

I have been a patient of Takle Group for more than 25 years and recently I received a bill for services from last year that included a "New patient fee". I called and they told me that they charge the fee whenever a patient has not seen them in more than 3 years. I at age 72, did not go out except when necessary during the Covid pandemic and I suppose we all must suffer for that, but their position was that their insurance company requires them to call me a new patient even though I am paying this out of my own pocket. I've had great success with Takle Eye Group. They've always been quick to respond to my needs. They were even quick to help both my son and my husband with minor eye emergencies. I decided to switch to Takle Eye Group based on a recommendation from a client. Terrible decision on my part! It is now 56 days since my initial office visit and I still DO NOT have an accurate prescription for contact lenses. I have spent, to date, over $800 for tests that all came back negative. Seems they are just searching for something. When I call to talk to someone in the glasses/leneses department I can only leave a message and they do not return calls---I have called 3 times in last 24 hours, yet to talk to anyone who can help.....Save yourself some time, money and lots of frustration and go somewhere else. read more

Had three pairs of glasses made here, can't use them. Kept going back for new ones. Third trip was told I had cadaracks after all and that was the problem, also, the next time I came in we would talk about surgery . First two visits told I had no caderacks. Also, they suggested the automatic darkening , which now I find out the glasses will not turn dark in the car, the only place I need sun glasses. Made a $250 mistake here. Still can't see very well, guess I will try again somewhere else. read more

Writing this review after two months of getting my glasses at Tackle Eye group. First they get a star because the Doc I saw at the Locust Grove location was awesome. But the wait was stupid, I was the only one there and it took nearly 30 min to see me. Second the optical center was to lax, I had to wait another 20 to 30 min for the lady to (only one) to finish working with another patient. Last they told me it would be 5 to 7 business days. It took over 10. They did not tell me that the order was placed a day and a half later and they did not inform me that there was an abnormal holiday being taken that Friday. Second I buy semi-premium glasses and lenses. Oakley. I will not buy anything else. I pay a good bit of money for my glasses because I want them to last. This play does not use Oakley to cut their lenses, I was not expecting that, and that would not be a problem except that the lens cutter they use is sloppy, and they cut my lenses two small, they fall out if I move them the wrong way. When I went to get this corrected the lady very sarcastically stated that if they used Oakley the prices would be higher, where as that may be the case, my lenses are covered by insurance and even if they where not I prefer my lenses to fit. She stated that she would have some more cut for me and call me when they would be in. That was 3 weeks ago now. Please save your time, save your frustrations and go some where else. After realizing that I hadn't had an eye exam in four years, I made an appointment with Dr. Baumrind. Prior to seeing him, I was treated well by all of the supporting office members...they were kind, efficient, and easy to interact with. Dr. Baumrind is a wonderful addition to the group! I decided to switch eye doctors because Takle Eye Group was closer to home, awful decision! Dr. Shadow does not give you the time of day and I have had to take of work three times to get an appointment to get my contact prescription right and it's still incorrect! Who has the time for that? He should have been able to tell exactly the prescription I needed during the first appointment. They also deleted the insurance I had on file and made me pay a $75 'contact fitting fee' that my insurance should have covered but I cannot get ahold of anyone in the office to get this refunded. I stated to the receptionist that I had to visit Dr. Shadow on three different occasions to try and get the correct prescription and she told me it did not matter I would have to pay the fee and would have to come back until he got the prescription right. Unbelievable! I have called the office manager four times this week and left a message and she has yet to get back with me. I need new contact and the sample pair's Dr. Shadow keeps giving me do not work, I am definitely going to call my old eye doctor and see if I can just pay out of pocket for an appointment so I can get some contact. I have already used my insurance allowance at Takle Eye Group. I honestly do not know how they are in business and I strongly urge everyone thinking about going here to use a different eye service! read more
