Outstanding as usual. Dined in tonight. Pleasantly surprised to see a kids menu now and fountain soft drinks. My boys each had a Mini Borukas bowl meal that was meat, cheese sauce and rice. Exactly what they wanted and it tasted fantastic. One had chicken and the other one steak. I kept my favorite Al Pastor Borukas bowl with vegetables. Looks like a little hole in the wall but when you walk in there is a lot of seating and the host get to you right away. The food is incredible, the grilled veggies on any dish is prepared perfectly. Just outstanding every time! We've been twice on the way to Memphis from Nashville, and it has impressed both times. First, it's tucked in a strip mall facing the interstate. Don't let that slow you down. Second, Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in most towns. Don't let that slow you down either. This place is abuzz with every table taken. The food is delicious, generous, and clearly made with passion. I had the chilaquiles with carnitas, and it was anchored by homemade tortillas, verde sauce, generous and rich shredded pork and carefully cooked eggs. Perfect! I've been here a few times already! When I moved here from Texas. My one craving was REAL tacos. This place is as good as it gets when it comes to authentic Mexican tacos! We have thoroughly enjoyed our visits here. The servers are good and the food is homey and authentic. Gringo that I am, I do prefer crispy tacos, and that's not my only tragic flaw. There is a delicious simmered pork dish that is tender and flavorful. Hubs likes the burritos, and I like the Micheladas. Anything we have tried has been comforting and worthwhile. My favorite place for Mexican. They do not have your typical Mexican fare. They have a shrimp quesadilla that is amazing. Their Borukas Bowl with the Baja veggies is very good. They have Mexican sandwiches. Wonderful! read more

I would give 5 stars but the ventilation in this place is poor....You will definitely smell like smoke and have runny eyes upon leaving. However the food was simply amazing. The rice is good, cheese dip, salsa, the Karnitas tacos are great! Next time I plan to try the fish tacos Love the small intimacy in the restaurant. It's not big so you don't have to worry about waiting for a while to get a drink refill etc. Even with being newly opened we were seated very quickly and I think they overall have a great flow of getting food out to you. Since this was my first time eating from this food truck I played it safe with the 2 taco supreme with side of rice. It was fresh and tasted delicious. I will definitely be back. The quality of the ingredients is apparent in the food, the service is fast, and the portions are large (I almost always have leftovers). Everything is hot and made to order, and there are plenty of menu options with fantastic meat choices such as chicken and al pastor. Originally a food truck, this restaurant quickly gained popularity among the Jackson population. You will realize why once you eat here. I travel constantly for work. While in Jackson I expected very little in terms of dining. I went to a different Mexican place the day before and was so disappointed, but I happened to run into the family that runs this truck and I visited daily during the rest of my time here. The el pastor is some of the best I've had. My all time favorite taco join was in LA, but this might beat it! If you're passing through stop what you're doing and visit this place now. I love this place. If you're traveling down I40 and happen to come through Jackson, take the exit and enjoy this authentic Mexican restaurant. His specialty is Jalisco which is rice, cheese and then various types of meat you can choose from.
