I went here on Saturday around 3 pm and there were no other customers. The staff was kind and patient while ordering the food. Also, the music they played was very relaxing. I ordered Por Tonkatsu Curry Don. It was excellent, especially after adding the spicy sauce that they had. I also tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, which has been the best ramen I've ever had. I've been telling my friends about this place and how much I like it. It was a lucky find one day when I was walking around downtown and it was a happy surprise. Located on the corner of the block, when you walk in, it's not very large. There is, however, enough sitting around the walls and in the main area. The kitchen can be seen and has an open concept, so it's cool that you get to see the staff handling the food. That being said, you can also hear their conversations and it just so happens when I went there last, there was a lot of bickering. Oh well it happens haha. I've only ever seen one person attending to the customers. She's super sweet, very attentive, and makes sure you know what you're ordering if there are any questions with the menu. The food was delicious. I had the pork ramen and added some spice oil available on the table. It's incredibly flavorful and very filling. We also ordered Takoyaki fpr the table. It was my first time trying it, and I know I'll be ordering it whenever it's available on a menu. Lastly, the smaller details. The entire place seemed very clean and orderly. Bathrooms were nice and welcoming. Parking is not the easiest - it's in downtown, so expect to park on the street nearby and have to walk to get there. read more

The food and service are great here.. the reason for my rating was all the bugs. If you choose to dine-in I recommend any seat other than the one near the (unused) door in the front corner of the restaurant. Lots of fruit flies were crawling on the table and flying around us as we ate. There was also a fruit fly catcher hanging by the door covered with dead bugs as well, which was a bit disturbing to see and took away from everything else. I don't think we'd come back which is unfortunate. read more

I'm so happy we found this spot!! Takumi Ramen is a gem of a Japanese ramen restaurant, with an incredibly chill, clean, and cozy atmosphere. They have large windows and quiet jazz music playing in the background, along with TVs streaming video games, anime, and news on mute, creating a cozy ambiance. The place is also very spacious with numerous tables. Our waitress was incredibly sweet. We started our meal with their takoyaki, and it was nothing short of amazing. To be fair, i don't think we've had bad takoyaki anywhere. My boyfriend ordered the chicken karaage curry, and I went for the spicy curry ramen, and both dishes left us in shock because they were EXACTLY what we wanted. We were craving comfort food, and they gave us exactly that. Their ramen is the best I've ever had, fulfilling all my expectations. The level of spiciness was perfect, adding just a little kick, and I think it's mild enough for everyone. The bowls come generously loaded with toppings and are incredibly filling. They also have weekday specials that are amazing deals. If you're every craving warm comfort food, this is the place to go. Takumi Ramen is a relatively tiny, quick-serve-style Ramen restaurant that operates like a sit down restaurant. So you get a menu, a table, water and a server, but everything else about the place feels fast and simple. It's right across the street from the Orlando courthouse, so it can get a busy lunch rush. It can also get the occasional person wandering off the street looking to ask for the bathroom, while you're just sitting there eating. And also like a sit down restaurant, this place is pricier than a true quick server. In fact, I had a $20 bowl of Ramen just today, which is steep. But, there is some value at Takumi, and that is, that the people are friendly and the food itself tastes really good and fresh. The chicken ramen, although expensive, was very good with some interesting authentic flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooke with great texture. And the pork gyoza are so tender and delicious that anyone could eat the whole appetizer yourself. Also, the shrimp, ginger salad and fun selection of Ramune drinks are also worthy of note. It's a stark, simple place. And not a place you'd really drive to go to. But it's a welcome addition to the downtown lunch scene, and def a place I'm willing to go back to once a month or so. read more

Very bad experience! Our food was fine. But during the meal a young lady came in to pick up her to-go order. She came back in and nicely explained that she had dropped her Boba tea and would they make her another one. She was not asking to get it for free, she was willing to pay. The woman in the back started yelling at her. Yelling about how it wasn't their fault and how she shouldn't be dropping things in front of her restaurant. Yelling at her that she can't come in here and get things for free. The woman clarified multiple times she was not asking for free. She just wanted to have it remade and she would pay. The young lady was incredibly polite yet the owner continued to yell at her. The young woman even offered to clean up this small mess out front and the owner continued to yell saying "I did not ask for customers to come here and make a mess in front of my restaurant." The whole thing lasted for at least two or three minutes and it was terrible. The young woman was very polite and very kind and tried calmly to explain that she was happy to clean up the mess and happy to pay for another drink. The owner just continued screaming at her from the back saying that it wasn't her fault and that she did not ask for this. We were completely mortified and will never set foot in this restaurant again. Even after the young lady quietly left, the owner continued yelling and making a scene. I felt so terrible for this nice young lady. She did nothing wrong and did not deserve to be screamed at. read more

We found this place by driving through the area. The ambiance is really clean and quiet. They play Japanese music which is pretty cool! I had the black garlic ramen it was pretty good needed some salt. I like that they put the hot on the side so I can make it super spicy the gyoza is super good it has a crunch inside which was a pleasant surprise. The chicken ramen needed more seasoning. Despite the place being empty l, it still took upwards of 30 minutes for us to get our food. Ordered the spicy fried chicken ramen, received spicy chicken, not fried. Didn't think enough of the broth or the noodles to complain. Broth was weak, noodles were decent, chicken was overcooked and on the drier side. Ginger was the bowl's saving grace, unfortunately. It certainly wasn't spicy. Waitress didn't bring me a copy of the tip/merchant check, then when I went over to the stand she insisted on going back to check that it wasn't in the table trash. Basically, a disappointing experience all around. Probably would give it another chance if there weren't SO many great options around. Ending up getting fajitas and margaritas (@garibaldi's apopka) with my partner immediately afterwards, if that speaks to how we felt about it. Location is dynamite tho. We are all aware that this spot is known for their pork broth, but as a vegetarian I was excited to see they offered a vegetable ramen. Unfortunately this dish is lacking. I'm going to start with the positives. I ordered it to-go so my broth, toppings, & noodles were separated. I love this because it prevents items from getting soggy. Kale noodles are so unique for Otown. The wasabi/citrus sauce is incredible! This is a winning sauce, but you only receive the teeniest bit. It wasn't enough to provide flavor for the dish. This leads me into the negatives. The toppings for the ramen were a dry spring salad, bland mushrooms, broccoli, & cauliflower. The broth added nothing to the dish. Sadly it's as if vegetarians don't want flavor. The quarter of an avocado wasn't ripe either. I greatly appreciate the effort to provide a vegetarian option, but I don't recommend my fellow veg's to try this spot. Maybe for a bowl of the wasabi sauce! read more

I am going to this place a 5 star being generous because of the service. Service: super nice lady who is very attentive but she is by herself managing the entire dining room and the to go orders. 5/5 Food: I ordered the black garlic ramen and chicken karagee. Overall the ramen was decent. The broth was tasty but not thick or potent enough like it supposed to be for a black garlic ramen soup. The noodles were perfect firm and cooked. Love the tasty char Siu and seasoned egg. I was a bit disappointed of the chicken karagee. It looked amazing but the crunchiness was not there and it was missing seasoning. They did add a side of powdered seasoning for dipping but it is not the same. The prices for these ramen dishes are a bit over priced but we are downtown Orlando. So I am not surprised. 4/5 Atmosphere: it is a cute corner fast food style dining ramen place. Not much bigger than Ramen Takagi located in winter park. But this is a new remodel place with an open kitchen. I think they use the layout very well to maximize space and seating. 4.5/5. This is probably the best ramen I've ever had. I cannot recommend the black garlic ramen enough!!! Absolutely to die for, the broth was so flavorful. My kids split the miso ramen and said they could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The steamed pork buns were super delicious, fluffy and sweet. The spicy pork ramen was mildly spicy and had great flavor. After adding extra spice via the table side chili sauce, it was perfection. Portions were pretty large but we were hungry so that suited us and we managed to eat most of it. 10/10 would recommend read more

The food here is amazing. I had the Miso Ramen and it's the best ramen I have had here in the downtown Orlando area. Full of flavor and customer service is amazing. My husband and I shared the Pork Gyoza and they are also very very flavorful. My son is a picky eater and they accommodated him only wanting noodles and broth and we are forever grateful because he loved it and was willing to try. They also have amazing mochi ice cream.
