We got the premium beef curry bowl and added chicken katsu and ebi fry (shrimp fried). The portion is very well. Luckily my son came with me. If I come by myself I probably cannot finish. Been to Mills Market many times, it's such a fun little market with multiple shops inside. Parking can be a little tough, there is a parking lot out back as well as some street parking along the main road. They have entrances on both sides. Today was the first time trying Cowboy Curry. It has a white rice base with their Japanese curry with beef, carrots and potatoes. There were a lot of add ons if you wanted. I did add the chicken katsu. The food did not take long to get after ordering and it was so good. Great portion size. Plenty of meat and veggies. I would definitely get it again. The perfect comfort food to pair with this chilly weather! My husband & I wanted something hearty and warm for lunch today, and we remembered that Cowboy Curry is officially open inside Mills Market. They serve traditional Japanese beef curry with rice. The staff were really nice and explained the different topping options. I decided to add the crispy chicken katsu to mine. It was amazing and just what we wanted! They simmer the sauce for 40 hours, and it had excellent flavor containing vegetables and tender chunks of beef. It was also a very generous portion (good for 2 meals for me). Mills Market itself has made some great improvements and additions to the space. Stopped in for lunch today and it was really busy. Took a few before I found a table. The food, however, was so worth it! I got the premium beef curry with the potato cheese croquette and a mango apple yuzu tea. Both delicious. The curry was just a little bit spicy, which was the perfect amount! I love spicy, but if you don't, it may be too spicy for you. I love all the lanterns hanging from the ceiling, really adds some nice vibes. read more

Ever since this place was added to mills market we have been wanting to check it out. It was amazing! Nozzled in on the side of mills market you can smell the distinct scent of Japanese style curry. They serve a hearty portion of beef curry and sticky wite rice The curry has potatoes, carrots and very tender beef in. They have some options to add as toppings. When I ordered the chicken karaage topping I thought it was a bit overpriced, but it was perfectly made (still a bit more Chicken would have been nice). Recently had this place and I think it is good, but not as good as social media has hyped it to be. I did not know there was beef already in the curry, and I added a chicken katsu, bumping the price up to 23 dollars. Was it worth it? Read many good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. It is in an Asian hub/center with many other eateries. The inside is noisy and crowded. Parking is somewhat crowded but if you wait a bit you'll find a spot. When I got there for dinner service they were out of curry! This was wild since it's literally dinner hours around 5:30pm. I went to another eatery and got some dinner but decided to check and see if they reopened. They had some curry delivered so I thought why not. The katsu is flavorful and not overly fried. But the curry sauce was so so salty that I couldn't eat more than two bites. My tongue started to tingle which tells me there's MSG or extra sodium in that curry. I ended up only eating the katsu with white rice. I put maybe I'd recommend it because someone else might like that much salt. read more

The pictures of the rice online got me a little worried, but it was actually fluffy and soft short grain rice, cooked beautifully. When I got to the counter to order, the cashier was also speaking with a fun cowboy southern accent and that was goofy and fun. The staff was all donning cowboy hats, which added to the whole schtick. Overall, I would considering ordering here again, but it is rather expensive. Finally gave them a try! They specialize in Japanese style Curry. They're have one curry that has a tiny bit of a kick. It's not spicy! Just enough to know it's there! The customization comes from the toppings you can get. I went with the basic, no add ons (most of the add ons are fried, and I didn't want the carbs). The lady running the counter was very sweet and explained everything about the curry, the spice level and how to customize. They're one of the spots in Mills Market, so finding seating is a challenge. It's community seating for all the vendors in the market. It was pretty tasty, definitely worth a try! read more

The staff are welcoming and work fast. The curry is absolutely show stopping. The rice is fluffy. The beef curry is tender and rich with so much flavor. The BEST Japanese curry in town, without a doubt. This is their first pop-up and first service. The stand is permanent at Mills Market but only open via pop-up, so follow their Instagram @cowboycurryfl for their schedule. According to the team, the curry took 4 days to make using all fresh ingredients, lots of vegetables, and no added thickeners. The thickness of the curry comes solely from simmering everything for 4 days, and it tasted divine! There's one base curry with beef, and you can choose add-ons and side dishes (see the menu in the picture). I chose to add menchikatsu, Wagyu katsu, ebi fry, potato egg salad, and their mango mocktail drink. Everything was fantastic and well worth the wait. There was no set price at the first service; they asked customers to pay what they thought the food was worth, based solely on an honor system, which was a surprise. I appreciate that the employee who took my order anticipated my dietary restrictions (no pork). She informed me that they use the same oil to fry the potato croquettes as one of the menu items with pork. I would've loved to try the potato croquettes but the curry and rice was still fantastic on its own. The curry was rich and savory, and the texture of the rice was perfect. The portion size was also good. I ended up eating the meal over two days as I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The one caveat about this experience was that the building was very crowded, stuffy, and lacking in adequate seating. We were a bit overwhelmed by everything and chose to go home to eat our food. It is more premium because of the lack of artificial thickeners, so the long prepared vegetables and fruits give it a natural sweetness and texture.
