Finally tried Walala Hand-Pulled Noodles and they did not disappoint! My husband and I shared the boiled dumpling sampler (pork, beef, and chicken), chopped cucumber salad, beef skewer, and their ever popular spicy braised beef short rib stew with hand-pulled noodles. Everything was super good, especially the dumplings and the stew. The broth is very flavorful and the short rib was nice & tender which is always my biggest concern regarding meats in soups. The noodles really are the star of the show and there's something just so perfectly light and chewy about them. It truly is an artform! I've been hearing about Walala for some time now, so I was so excited to finally try it! The workers are pretty friendly, and we came on a Sunday evening and were able to be seated right away. We wanted to try the wontons in chili oil but they were sadly out so we ended up getting the big beef skewers. The flavoring on them was sooo good. But we did have a lot of super chewy and fatty pieces that we weren't really a fan of. The noodles came out so quickly and they were streaming hot, which we loved. The clear broth is super clean and light with a very herbal fragrance to it. Like I feel like that would be perfect to drink if you were sick. But not being sick, I did end up adding some soy sauce just to give it some more flavor. But I like that with the sauces at the table, you can kinda just customize to your liking. I think the knife cut noodles are probably my favorite type of noodles here, but the hor fun goes really well with the clear broth. I also tried the green grape fruit tea and it was so refreshing! The flavor wasn't artificial at all and it was so nice to have with the hot noodles. I think this spot is super worth if you're the type to order extra noodles, or if you're a big eater. Walala is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a noodle person. We went around 1:00pm on a Saturday and it was busy but still able to grab a table, but by 2:00 every spot was filled, so timing definitely matters. They were out of the beef pancake roll when we tried to order it, which was a little disappointing, but everything else made up for it. I got a soup with a clear soup base and it was so good, super flavorful without being too heavy. They even have a note that it's simmered for 8 hours, and you can absolutely taste the time put into it. We also tried the hand-pulled noodles and they were delicious with that perfect chewy texture. One of the coolest parts is you can literally watch them hand-pulling the noodles through a window into the kitchen, which makes the whole experience feel even more authentic. Plus, you can get a free refill of the hand-pulled noodles while you're dining in, which is such a great bonus. My husband ordered a beef-based soup that wasn't super flavorful on its own, but after adding some of the condiments from the table, it improved a lot. And to be honest with you if you have your choice of so many great selections. Walala is a Michelin star restaurant that features hand-pulled noodles. There are four types of noodles that you can get. The hand pulled noodles were incredible. they are more of a soup-based type of meal and there are 10 different choices of selections where you could have the noodles in and I had the spicy shank and I loved it. As for vegetarian options there were a few but this didn't seem like I could take wifey too. Highly recommend and we'll come back to try more variations and more types of noodles. Service was a bit slow I showed up and the guest that it was meeting me showed up 15 minutes later I sat there the waitress never came by and asked me if I wanted to get anything ahead of time. me and my boyfriend have wanted to try this place out for some time and decided to go today. When we arrived we got seated quickly and were able to order quickly as well. The noodles are made fresh and cooked immediately, you can watch the masters at work in the glass open kitchen in the back. You definitely taste the difference between fresh and dry or frozen noodles, they're so much more bouncy. The portion sizes are pretty hefty. I had the beef shank preserved veggies with hand pulled noodles. Lots of tender slices of beef and the veggies were not super salty which was perfect. There was so much noodle! My one son is a vegetarian so they made him a vegetarian noodle soup. My other son wanted the combination dumplings. They are both 10. The vegetarian ate more than half his and took the rest home. I've not had hand pulled noodles before so I was excited to eat here. The place was packed with customers with only one small table which was waiting for us to arrive. The smell of food had my mouth watering. My favorite type of noodle was the Hor noodles which are the flat ribbon shaped ones. I found the hand pulled noodles to be a bit too sturdy and chewy for my liking but the clear broth was tasty and the beef meat was tender. Next time I will definitely get the flat ribbon noodles so I can stay out of my daughter in laws bowl lol The Peach Tea drink is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! It's made from real peaches they cook down and add the peach syrup to the tea. Omgoodness that is the best drink ever!!! You gotta get you one. We really liked the drinks, so I would definitely recommend those to supplement your meal! The beef skewers were small and VERY chewy, but the flavor was great! The smashed cucumbers was a nice, crisp vegetable side dish that was refreshing and had a super garlicky bite. Service was attendant and good. When we first walked in, no one was at the host stand and there's a QR code to add yourself to the waitlist, so I did for my party. We sat on the benches in the front of the restaurant until we would be notified when our table was ready. After a little while, the couple next to us, who was waiting on their to-go order, told us that we just have to stand up, and wave a server down to get seated. Upon arriving, we were told it'd be a 45-minute wait for new noodles--fair enough. They ended up seating us immediately and we ended up waiting only 25 min, so that was a pleasant surprise. The chili oil is doing alot of lifting but was rich, flavorful, and balanced the dishes out perfectly. I had the dan dan noodles, which leaned heavily peanut forward. I was hoping for a bit more depth or heat to balance the richness, but the oil and peanut butter overwhelmed the flavor profile. My wife went with the #2 beef noodle soup. While I wouldn't personally rank it at #2, the beef was incredibly tender and buttery. The radish and noodles brought a lot of life to the bowl, but the broth missed the mark, flat and overly oily. Now let's talk about the noodles themselves. Incredible. Hand pulled perfection. Springy, chewy, comforting. They deserve their reputation, no question. Maybe I went in with expectations too high after all the hype, but as a whole, the experience didnt fully land for me. That said, the potential is there and I could be convinced to come back.
