I've been here twice and both times they have sent me away after I waited for 2+ hours. First time is because they wouldn't accept a pdf scan of my passport which would've been if I didn't sit there for 2 hours before they even asked for it. The second I went and I thought they would've saved my proof of address for last year but they didn't so I didn't have one so they manually inputted it but didn't ask for my room number when they did. Then when I went back for my physical they informed me they need a proof of address because they inputted it without a room number and can't change it without that proof of address after already telling me it was fine as long as I brought it next visit. read more

Be careful going here, there is an older woman who does not care about your veins. She will put the needle in to far almost going through the other side of your vein and when you complain she will make every excuse in the book as to you being the issue and not her, she will rush discharging you just so she can get to her break. I asked the woman to slow down pulling the tubes out of the machine because the needle was still in my arm. You will know who this woman is the first time she sticks you. I've heard from numerous techs that work there and donors that this is typical behavior for her and Grifols Denys everything, instead they just say you can't come back there so they don't get a bad rep, hope this helps the next ! read more

So I tried to donate plasma this morning.... I was told that i needed my marriage certificate to prove my name change, because I donated one time twelve years ago under my maiden name. Fine. Came in with my ID and social security card (both of which are in my married name), as well as my original, notarized marriage certificate. According to the intake clerk at Talecris, my marriage (and all of my government-issued IDs) isn't valid, because I don't also have a document from the Roanoke City Courthouse proving that i petitioned to have my name changed. Sorry dear, you don't get to tell me that my marriage isn't valid because I followed the Circuit Court Clerk's instructions on name changes when i got married. (The Clerk advised me to send in a copy of my marriage certificate to get a new social security card, and use my marriage certificate to get my name changed on my ID. I did exactly that.) Many people, when they get married, drop their original middle name and use their maiden name as their middle name. That is not uncommon. No one has to petition the court to allow them to change their name after a marriage. The clerk at Talecris told me that because I didn't do that, my name is not my name, despite the fact that my driver's license and social security card are issued in my married name, and I've filed taxes twice under that name. I'm pretty sure that if I was using a fake name, that I couldn't get ID and a social security card with that name, nor could I file taxes with that name. Am i salty that I can't donate because I dared to get married? A little. But I'm A LOT more upset that an intake clerk at a plasma donation center thinks that she can tell people who they are and whether or not they are legally married, when she does not work for a government entity or in the legal field. They need to call people when they haven't gotten the test results back and they can't donate. I wasted my gas and my time driving about 25 minutes. I pass the screening up front. Then told oh we haven't gotten your test results back so you can't donate. We will call you when we receive them. It's been 3 weeks since they took a sample, and this new company is supposed to be faster. A few hasn't come back she told me. So why didn't someone call me today or yesterday??? My time is just as important as the people who work at the center. We deserve respect too. I was furious because I went through waiting, screening just to be told whoops you can't donate. I should've been called when they didn't come back. I come twice a week every week. Usually they compensate you for your time, nope nothing. read more

Usually I have a great visit but it's 2 workers that just don't care! I called to make sure I was good to donate the lady tells me yes sure you're good to donate come on in. so when I get there I was turned away after spending 2hr on a bus to get there let alone my fare. I asked why would she say I was good if I wasn't she going to lie and say that wasn't her on the phone when she's the only 1 at the reception desk!!! other than that the times I went had been cool no problems read more

please be aware to check your payments after you donate , they don't like to pay you your money and blame it on systems errors , I showed them where I ain't received my pay called my debit card in front of them to see nothing was posted to my account and they still did not pay me !! so I would not recommend this place !! they are scam artist and they don't care about your health !! read more

If i could give no stars thats what I would give. I have never been so humiliated in my life. The director called me a liar in front of everyone. I was a new donor i do not understand everything nor did I understand the whole process. So apparently i answered a question incorrectly. Instead of addressing me like an adult he comes out to the machine I was hooked up to and starts to holler at me. Pulls me off the machine after I am almost done and I got paid for nothing. I was there a total of 6 hours. I work a regular 8 to 5 job monday-friday. I spend one of my whole days off in this place to be treated like a animal. The director is not a friendly person and he shouldnt have this type of job. He clearly was looking down on individuals who donate plasma. In the end I will never donate again this has been the worst experience of my life. read more

I have donated before it has been 6 months so I knew ahead it was going to take a while but I was not expecting to check in at 12 noon and not even start my donation till 3:15. and I understand everyone is shortstaffed but the my friend in front of me Was abl to complete everything before I was even set up on a machine. I just don't understand if there's not a lot of people in front of me why wasn't I able to see a nurse and get a physical instead of waiting hours after waiting 45 minutes I was told I had a 2 o'clock appointment to meet with the nurse it actually took an hour before the nurse did my physical assessment. I am upset because I ate lunch on the way here at noon and did not get to donate to 3:15 ridiculous!!! The wait and process is terrible they made me read an 9 page booklet then had the nurse to read it to me I don't feel like I need to do that twice. I know they compensate us for donating and I want to help others but the process needs to be thought out better. I didn't expect to set here for almost 4.5 hour. everywhere I read said two hou appointment for new donors. Hope improvements are made for the future and for other donors. read more
