(I don't consider this a full and accurate review, and I'll update the next time I stop in.) Wife and I were in town for the Lake County Round-Up and stopped at Tall Town Bakery & Cafe for breakfast. The place was PACKED. The waitstaff were hustling and the kitchen had a long row of tickets in queue. We only had about 45 minutes before an appointment and we let our waitress know that if we couldn't get our food served within about 30 minutes we'd take it to-go. She told us she'd do the best she could to accomodate us but it was (as noted) much busier than usual. Sad to say the food wasn't ready in time for us to enjoy it at the table but they did pack it up for us so we could take it carry out. The food wasn't bad at all. Needed a little salt and pepper to bring it alive, but it was hearty and filling and there was plenty of it, priced right. The ambience of this place is something I really appreciate: Lots of local movers-and-shakers getting ready to face the day over eggs and coffee. The vibe this gives off is intoxicating, and something one only finds in small town cafes in the morning. I love it. I'm hopeful my travels bring me back to Tall Town because I'm sure that if we get the full in-house experience it'll earn that fifth star. read more

Cute place! We were driving through town and wanting breakfast. It was crowded, but not packed. Coffee was not great, but my egg sandwich and hash browns totally hit the spot. The hubs had ham steak (HUGE) and eggs, he loved his choice and raved about the biscuit. read more

What a small town gem. The servers are so friendly. I travel through Lakeview about four times a year, and I don't know how they remember me every single time. :)) My favorite is the chicken fried steak. But the omelettes also hit, especially the Denver one. If I had anything bad to say it would be that there's not enough seating, as it seems the entire town shows up at the same time lol, understandably! Their lunches are amazing as well. We assumed there's several people in the back of the house as we saw the female owner taking phone orders as well, and food was coming out every couple minutes-- plus going out the pick up area! I had the TallTown omelette. Divine! Good quality meats. Fresh veggies done perfectly. Hashbrowns with perfect crisp on the outside. What a great find in Lakeview! This place is awesome. We travel through Lakeview often, but typically don't stop to sit down to eat. For whatever reason, we decided to stop at the Tall Town Cafe, and I'm so happy we did. My wife and I both got breakfast burritos, and they were both wonderful! Asked the young woman at ayas station where to eat and she recommended this place. Funky in appearance. I had the spinach omelet and all I can say is WOW! It was, by far, the best omelet I've had in months. Cheddar and blue cheese, spinach, tomato, avocado and onion. Absolutely delicious! Hash browns, toast and coffee completed the meal. I'm betting the rest of the food is as good as a steady stream of customers entered while we were eating. Everyone was greeted warmly and seated immediately. Had breakfast and a lunch while in Lakeview for the lake county fair and round up. This is the busiest weekend of the year practically in Lakeview Oregon so it's understandable that they were super busy. I have to say the food was great. I particularly like the breakfast burrito I had. The only thing was having to wait but for a group on that weekend - where else you gotta go? We got to sit with friends and family and chat and reminisce while they made the food and When they brought it out it was terrifi. so I don't know what it's like other than that weekend but I guess it would be like typical restaurant so with the good food it's probably a place you should stop if you are hungry and Lakeview Oregon! read more

Dont waste your time or money here. Food was just OK. After reading all of the other reviews, it looks like lousy service is common. Our waitress took our order, 20 min. later our food came out, she didnt say a word just set our plates on the table. I had ordered a side of thousand which never made it.
