I was sitting with Brewmaster RUSSt at his laboratory and to my surprise this guy hasn't seen a puckwudgey...so we grab our nets and hop into my pickup and head to Cedarville to try and spy one. No trip to Cedarville is complete without a Stop at Woodys. Cory is the expert mixologist with quick Witt and stories galore and knows where the wudgies frequent. His wife is the head chef and delivers. An excellent grilled cheese and the best coleslaw on the planet?! Both made fresh in house. RussT got a loaded up baked potatoe and was so happy he needed to brush his teeth at the bar. So if your out puckwudgey-ing or searching for BBFCFM and in the area...Woodys is the spot. read more

A small restaurant on the edge of town. We came in at an off hour (~2pm) for lunch so there was no one else in there. Our server was sweet and friendly. The ambience in the restaurant part (where we were at) was what I would describe as utilitarian. My BLT was great. I opted to try the fried pickles and was surprised just how much I liked them. They were crispy and salty - yum! My companions said the French fries were some of the best they'd ever had. Paid ~$50 for 3 lunches (BLT, full salad, double patty melt, iced tea, no alcohol). Awesome food! As with everything in this area, not just cedarville, everything and everywhere is completely desolate. You can literally park anywhere, probably in the middle of the highway, and it wouldn't be a problem. I called the owner or manager of this place, having never been to this area at all, after a place in altruist couldn't so much as make as a grilled cheese for me. Great little food joint! Was pleasantly surprised. Got a loaded baked potato. I wasn't feeling too hungry and wanted something simple. It was a good size with crispy bacon bits and they got the topping to potato ratio perfect for me. BBQ chicken wings were really good. Crispy/crunchy in the best way. Even sitting in the sauce a little bit. Far from soggy. My partner got the pulled pork sandwich and said, "This is good!" We were spending a couple of days at Surprise Valley Hot Springs, and had brought our bicycles expressly for the purpose of riding into Cedarville to have lunch at Woody's. We arrived as planned via bicycle, around 11:30 am and were seated quickly. I've had my eyes on their Western Burger (with bacon), and fries ever since reading a few Yelp reviews a few weeks ago. Service was a little slow, but when the food is good the wait is worth it, and it was true once again. Great burger and fries.... everything I expected. We will return. read more

We had the BEST burgers here! My was the mushroom swiss and my husband had the western. Both burgers were hand packed with local meats and cooked to perfection. Be sure to have their fries which were delicious. Cory and his wife source the finest ingredients to serve in their restaurant. We didn't have much expectation walking in since it was a bar and restaurant. So happy we had our best meal in Cedarville here. Have to come back for their bbq ribs. read more

I went to two restaurants in Cedarville during my recent visits to town. At each place I ordered basically the same thing ( my favorite, mushroom cheese burger or as close to it as possible). Woodys was by far better meat, bun, veggies and fries than the cozy cottage (name change) north of it. The people working at each also were like night and day. Woodys was interactive and fun and cozy cottage was cold and impersonal . I felt welcomed and friended at Woodys. Like they were glad to have me come in. Great experience. read more

We initially came here for drinks after enjoying a pizza at the Public House down the street. Woody's has a full bar - but no beer on tap. They have a nice section of canned/bottled beers through. Our bartender was great, we enjoyed some good conversation and local lore. You can eat there as well and we settled on a 1/2 rack of ribs - YUMMY! I have lived in Cedarville for about 9 months and have been to woodys several times, playing pool, having dinner and drinks with family and friends. Corey is a wonderful host chef and always been very polite and friendly, along with Brian and Corys wife. We stopped in for dinner at the recommendation of a local. I ordered the western bacon burger and my sister ordered the cheeseburger. Both were exceptional with thick homemade patties made of quality meat with lots of flavor. Woody made us feel welcomed, appreciated our business, and even knew a bit about our own small town further south on 395. We also had a chance to meet his wife who was cooking tonight. Stayed in Cedarville for 6 nights. Ate (3) times at Woodys each time was great. Service was prompt, menu has a lot to chose from and the meals were cooked to order. Friendly owner, is Cory. The waitress happens to be married to him and she also fills in cooking and doing what ever needs doing. They even took us in a couple minutes after the sign said closed. Fixed a couple burgers with fries and drinks. You will not be disappointed. BTW they have a full service bar as well. read more

The food is delicious. The best pizza that I've ever had with a generous amount of toppings. My other favorites are the ribs and the fried rice. Fresh vegetables grilled and served on top of the rice. Friendly atmosphere and clean facility. read more

We stopped in on my Birthday while staying down the street at the Hot Springs. I opened the door to the restaurant but it was empty and didn't know if they were open, I did smell BBQ though. I stepped back into the street to look for another entrance but a man named Cory stepped out and told us they were open and he had some mouth watering ribs just coming out of the smoker, we doubled back and entered though the bar for some birthday festivities. I'm glad we stayed. I ordered the ribs with mashed potatoes, gravy and a salad, my wife had their pulled pork with slaw and sweet potatoe fries. Pulled the bones right out of my ribs upon receiving my plate and only needed my fork to eat the rest! I didn't need sauce as the flavor was perfect and not too smokey, top 5 ribs I've had, even after going to the Reno Rib cook-off. Even if you're passing by, skip the cafe and come here. Wife's pulled pork was not drowning in sauce as the pork had it's own flavor that shouldn't have been masked. The bar tender, Brian, was a great host and made us feel comfortable among the locals and offered great conversation. Don't let the old building that this gem of a restaurant hides in deter you from enjoying an epic meal and a good time, you must go here, even if just passing by. read more
