The park is well maintained, has plenty of areas for kids as well as adults to be active, enough benches throughout the park and waterfront trail to accommodate most people visiting. The view of the Delaware River and the Delaware Memorial Bridge is pleasant and enjoyable, especially in the evening. I'm a park fan and visit plenty between here and Burlington. This is one of my favorites.

Kent Dog Park is closest to my house, but we travel to Haverford Reserve because it's just the…read morebest! There are always lots of dogs and the park itself is just super unique. It has multiple levels, platforms, tubes, benches, tables, toys, and water. The parking lot is gigantic and there are trails nearby for walks. Of course poop bags are also available on-site. As with all dog parks, but especially this one because it is so popular, you are going to encounter irresponsible owners and badly behaved dogs. I have seen owners glued to their phones, with headphones in, smoking cigarettes and completely ignoring the fact that their dog is either taking a sh!t or acting aggressively. I have seen folks arguing about whether an aggressive dog belongs in the park. And lastly, cars do get robbed. Don't leave valuables in your car! Pay attention and stay engaged, and hopefully you and your pup(s) will have a great time.

They have a smaller side for small dogs and the big dog space is hugeeee. Kinda wish the smaller side was just as interactive. There's a hose/ water fountain on both sides and plenty of balls. Either way, my 20-25lbs pups enjoyed both sides and were tired as heck after. The fellow dog owners were fairly friendly and were watching their pups. I'm sure there are a few who aren't as attentive but luckily I didn't run into those folks. This will be our dog park from here forward.

Next to the park is a museum abouf the history of the old Welsh and African-American iron miners in the area, located in an old school which DuPont built for local African-American miner families. There is a covered picnic area with grills. There is a bark park for doggies.

OK, so here's the thing... This isn't an Arboretum in the way you think of curated trees. And…read morealthough they tout the mature Woodland, there are some areas that are very recent growth. But it is truly a delightful nature area, nestled in the midst of a residential area, The trail which does have two entrances marked towards the right and left corners of meadow (from parking lot) is an actual loop trail. But there's no way to know that from the markings or even the Township description online since it says there's a spur that comes out on the far end. Leisurely pace for the loop 15 to 20 minutes depending on speed or longer if you want to stop and enjoy wildlife along the way. Very active bird calls, and visit The Township site said that it comes out on a route road further away and there does appear to be a smaller spur that would take you in that direction. Please be cautious and be prepared because there are a fair amount of downed tree to scramble over, Gulleys, that clearly fill up with water, and two rickety bridges, including one that has actual broken planks on it so test the wood as you walk across. It was very dry the day I came so my white gym shoes made it through but there are at least seven or eight major areas of true muck that will absolutely challenge your footwear if you're not prepared Really little hidden gem. Also worth taking a look at the rules of hopscotch on the embedded hopscotch layout. Clearly trying to make it fun for children.

Leashed dogs allowed (no dog waste bags). One source stated this is a 2.3-acre greenspace, however it appears to be larger on the township trail map. I did not see the trail map before my visit so I didn't get a chance to explore the trails. The property kind of bottlenecks after the lawn area around parking, and the "neck" is wooded area that passes between residential properties. It is helpful to know ahead that the property then will fan out to a much larger trail system, otherwise you may assume (like I) that it's one short trail, perhaps tributary-ing off to residences, and not worth exploring. Next visit I will pursue the trails! The lawn area by the parking lot is definitely a relaxing space with various benches and Adirondack chairs for sitting. Two Adirondack chairs are hugely oversized for pictures or kid fun. There is a small pavilion, and a maze-like swirl pattern set in the grass with paver stones. It is a fun and safe place to explore for outdoor time.

Next to the library and includes the very well maintained Piedmont baseball fields. They have a nice paved walking trail and the playground is used frequently. The parking lot is on Old Lancaster Pike. Very close to House of William and Merry, Letties, Wawa, Chef's Haven, George's Seafood, Dunkin Donuts, Two Cousins pizza, and Prima pizza. So there are plenty of places to eat near here and many other businesses in the area.

I was looking for something that was somewhat of a unicorn find. I needed a toddler safe playground…read morethat was also fenced off. My toddler is a runner, he's a track star. I came upon this park when doing a google search for local parks. I have to admit, I wasn't sure it was going to be as good looking in person as it was online, but it was a gorgeous afternoon and I had nothing else to do, so away we went! The location is tucked away right off of Baltimore Pike and Ring Road, behind the township's municipal building. There's a small parking lot and handicapped accessibility into the playground, as well as availability around the playground itself once inside the fenced area. This is a HUGE plus in my book, as I have handicapped family members and it's often hard for me to find a park that I can take both my toddler and family members to. The equipment is still practically new and in great working shape. There's a toddler side (ages 2-5) and older children's side (5-12) with lots of different options. There's also plenty of bench seating, as well as picnic tables. Right outside of the fenced playground area is a wonderful pavilion area with new and nicely kept patio furniture for lounging. There are two negatives I personally found: 1.) There are no trash cans at the park. This is a HUGE negative for me as a parent - kids make a LOT of trash. I have no issue taking my trash along with me home, however, I know there's plenty of other people that won't, and it'll end up being left behind. 2.) The walkway around the playground doesn't have a level amount of wood chips, so when you're making your way from the playground to the sidewalk, you can very easily fall onto the sidewalk. Which my toddler did and slammed very hard onto the sidewalk. This is definitely a safety hazard. With my two negatives being said, they are both things that can easily be corrected. Despite the massive amount of traffic flying by on Baltimore Pike during rush hour, it was quite peaceful and serene, with lots animals about and the Brandywine flowing behind the park. I look forward to many more visits to the park.

This is a beautifully repurposed, remodeled and renovated park. It's overlooks The Delaware River…read morewhere you can see the Marina in Ridley Park. On this warm Sunday before Memorial Day when we honor those who have and continue to sacrifice for America, the setting was beautiful! There is plenty of space for 1/2 of Delco to enjoy. The grounds boast 4 gazebos several park benches, a sound stage and beautifully manicured grounds for you to lay down a blanket or fold up chairs. There are stairs where you can walk down to the waters edge if you desire. This is at your own risk of course. For the children/families there is plenty of your standard but very modern playground activities. Additionally there is a great water splash pad. Please defer to their website for the Grand ReOpening events along with other events throughout the summer. This park is adjacent to a new beautiful Holiday Inn Express. Bring the family, chairs/blankets, bug repellent, sunscreen and enjoy!
