Since it was the day after Christmas, traffic was fairly non-existent, and that also meant parking was readily available within the city! Years ago, a restaurant I enjoyed by chef Marcus Samuelsson was in this area, possibly at 210 W. Washington where Talula's Garden is located (restaurant was appropriately called Washington Square). I was eager to see what the new establishments had in store for me. Earlier last year, there was a Lancaster corn soup that I would have loved to have tried, but the season came and went so there were some new options to look forward to. Service was great walking in by the girl with the glasses at the front near the pastry counter. She explained the layout to me, and directed me to the grab-and-go area a few steps up. Here, there was more staff behind this counter that ignored me as I perused the area, but I didn't need any assistance anyway. I ended up taking a chicken salad sandwich (on a croissant) from this area. A chocolate croissant and a hot chocolate rounded out my order. As I continued looking around, I notice they had very few gluten-free items (I'm not GF but someone I was staying with is) so I ended up empty-handed there but I was surprised; this seemed like the kind of place that would have more of that on offer. I found the prices here reasonable, probably because where I live they are ridiculously high, but this seemed like a decent deal for what I bought. I have to admit I didn't really enjoy the sandwich; I only ate 1/2, and there was one green grape (I really like them in my chicken salad, so this was a letdown). The cocoa was enjoyable however, and the croissant, well, you can get almost anywhere but it was good. I liked it here enough that I would want to try other items on a future visit, such as the vegetable barely soup (unless that too is seasonal). Although I miss what was in this area years ago, I'm glad Talula's has an actual restaurant and a smaller cafe within the block here.

Sometimes I forget to pack breakfast. So I get out of cardiac rehab and I'm like where can I eat?! I need heart healthy options. So I asked a nurse and she suggested this spot. I'm sold on it. Easy to come in and out. Cute little outside space. Lots of premade grab and go stuff. Lots of choices. Not as small as it looks from outside. I got a cold brew and a fruit parfait that was delicious. I will frequent this spot.

Food is great! The ambiance is very nice, not too loud. Staff are helpful and kind. I'm grateful the original brunch spot was too packed because this place was great!

Very good housemade chai latte, brownie was pricey but a good snack. A favorite of the Penn residents

I came here with a friend and this place was delicious! I was looking for either fish or vegetarian since it was a Friday during Lent and this place had a wonderful tuna salad sandwich. Decent price for downtown Philly. They had lots of options and I would stop by again!

I haven't been inside yet but absolutely loved my recent lunch delivery from Talula's Daily. I went with the chicken salad on greens based on reviews, and it was delightful. Literally just a to-go container of chicken salad on greens with a dijon-based dressing, I enjoyed half of it for lunch and the other half the next day. Nothing over the top or fancy, but a great option when you're on the go or looking for a super speedy delivery option in the city. I also grabbed a cookie that I thought was good, but not amazing and not something I would probably order again. I love Washington Square and look forward to stopping in IRL very soon, along with trying their sister restaurant of course.

I've been taking the time to walk around for a few extra minutes before heading into work, exploring the different side streets I wouldn't normally go to. Found myself wandering around Washington Square when I saw someone emerge from here with a hot, steaming cup of coffee. Inside it was staffed by all sorts of perky young things. I wanted to grab a slab of the bacon quiche in the cold deli, but I was kindly told a fresh hot one was just taken out if I wanted one. Why yes, please. The serving size was nice and hefty, so I saved half for lunch. Perfectly done. I loved the old vintage stove where different creamers and sugars are located for the coffee This is not WAWA.

GENERAL A solid quick, healthy place for lunch. Talula's Daily is located conveniently by Washington Square Park and is nearby UPenn and Jefferson's hospital systems in Center City. It's grab-and-go, so you enter, go up the steps to pick up baked goods, salads, and/or sandwiches, and then pay by the front counter. FOOD I ordered a chicken caesar salad, and it was mediocre for its price tag. At $13 + tax, I expected the chicken to be at least a little seasoned; the dressing was on the blander side (which I'm not necessarily mad about); and the croutons were somewhat soggy (pre-dressing). The amount of meat was also lacking proportionately to the bowl at large. It's not something I'd seek out again, but it hits the spot if you're craving a salad, as there's surprisingly not many places in the area that offer them. DRINKS Various coffee drinks are available for purchase at the front counter. AMBIANCE Some seating at large tables are available inside to work/study. Outdoor seating for tables of two are available as well. It's a good place to catch up with friends over a casual meal/coffee. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.

Came to Talula's Daily around lunchtime on a Tuesday and it was packed. There were a few outdoor seating options and 2 lines to order food and drinks. Even thought it was super cute that they sold beautiful bouquets for $25 next to the bakery table and have shopping baskets for your convenience. I ordered a mushroom soup to go which the staff offered to heat up for me as well as a zucchini bread. The zucchini bread comes in single serve slices or full loaves. I loved how they had a nut free option! The pecan crumble sounded delicious but I unfortunately couldn't have it because of my allergy. The manager brought my soup and bagged up my items. While opening the mushroom soup revealed probably one of the most terrifying looking meals I've ever paid for, the flavor packs a great punch. Truly such a flavorful and light but filling soup option that doesn't make me miss meat. I'll definitely be back to sit for lunch and a coffee again soon.

Is there any kind of seating?

Only outside. None inside at all.

We are at 8th and Walnut, looking for a nearby luncheon spot, serving cocktails and good food! Does this place for the bill? Thanks so much!…

I am not sure if they offer cocktails but the food is verygood there.
