We discovered Egg's Ale because we were staying at the Sheraton that it's attached to and figured it would be a quick and easy way to get some dinner after a day out in the town. It's definitely a low key hidden gem in the area. Service was great and the food was even better. Everything we ordered had massive portions. We got the chicken quesadilla, fish sandwich and cheese steak. Everything was excellent, tons of flavor and cooked perfectly. The sandwiches came with fries which was the only thing that weren't great to me. They used a ton of oregano which i'm not a huge fan of, but that's just me personally. Otherwise they were good and crispy. Prices were all great for the area. Definitely cheaper than other places we went to and got a lot more for the price too. Overall, had a great experience and would definitely be back! If you're in the area and you're looking for a quality meal then stop by, make sure you come hungry. read more

We were attracted to come check this place out with its unique name. Lo and behold they have a great beer menu. There was not a large breakfast menu and it was kind of expensive. The only bad part of our meal was the potatoes. Do not recommend. Servers were kind and constantly checked in and brought refills. This place was kind've in business because the terminal is not open at certain times and hours. Overall, the drinks are not bad at all. Small little plastic cups, not a fan of that. However, the bartender is pretty good and the service is good. Not many complaints in that area. They are separate from the hotel, so you are unable to charge it to your room. The breakfast, sssssss. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Their menu has CLEAR words that state happy hour is 4-6 EVERYDAY and $2.00 off appetizers. However, me and two friends arrived at approximately 4:15 pm but after ordering only appetizers and drinks, our check came with not only an automatic TWENTY TWO PERCENT GRATUITY added but no discount on the drinks or appetizers. When I asked to speak to the manager, our "server" said, "I am the manager, what's up"? Shocked, I said "what's up" is you're not honoring what's on your menu. He....very rudely said, "It's only on certain food and drinks" but that is NOT stated in the menu anywhere! I will never pay another penny of my money at this raggedy, run down establishment with extremely subpar food!!! The service is deplorable and the "manager" needs to GO! This restaurant is attached to the Sheraton 4 points Center City. The biggest improvement is to add more servers. It seems as if the servers they do employ work very long shifts. I recently ate there during a visit and the service level was unacceptable. It seems to be family-owned and operated. The food was good, but the service was not. People were waiting for tables. When my niece and I finished our meal we waited a long time for the check, I had to get up and find a staff member who could run my credit card but he didn't know how to and he had to get his son to run the card while he was busy tending bar and servicing tables. They also need to confirm if they will let you charge meals to your room. It wasn't clear. read more

This place is amazing i was staying in the hotel and was looking for something to eat after work. Took me so long to find a spot close by walking distance and ended up going here. I tell you what the owners were amazing very respectful and kind very pleased with the services i received got my food out in time didn't feel like i waited forever. They got a pretty good liquor/wine selection. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak it was pretty damn good I've had a a lot of cheesesteaks and this is top 5 the fries had amazing seasoning not just salt and pepper. Over all had a amazing dinner here and the owner worked with "salt bae" for years and traveled around and cooked with him. No wonder this place has amazing food! I use a wheelchair because of severe chronic pain. Standing or walking too much, along with stress, aggravates it. This review will get to the restaurant, I promise. While I was on the way to the restaurant from my hotel, a homeless man (he told me he was at some point) followed me, insisting he push me to the restaurant. After a half block, he then started pushing me without my consent. When we got to the EGGS ALE, I told him I'd walk in and fold up the chair, but instead, he insisted on pulling me inside. I was visibly distressed at this point and actively protesting, even as he solicited help from a passerby with the door. Here's where the restaurant comes in. A man from the restaurant (tall and thin with an olive complexion) came into the breezeway right as the guy who accosted me and my chair pulled up into it. The employee immediately looked at me as I looked him in the eye, about to ask for a table for one to suggest that I needed help, and he just said, "We only serve guests from the hotel here. You have to leave." The stranger holding my chair just replied, "We are staying at the hotel," before I could speak, and the employee responded with, "No, the Sheraton; you need to be a guest at the Sheraton to eat here" all the while, I was just frozen in panic and desperate to get out of the situation. I don't know whether we were refused service because I was in a wheelchair, because the homeless man was black, or because I'm transgender. All I know is that when I asked the desk clerk at my hotel if they served people from outside, he said they did and suggested that I order from them. I was visibly and clearly not with the accosting man if someone was paying attention; I was done up with makeup, a manicure, a pencil skirt, and nice shoes. My outfit even matched my hair. I'm sure no woman would have left me stranded in that situation. Still, the employee there did, and he lied about who they served to do it. Egg's Ale is adjacent to the Four Point Sheraton so it was super convenient while attending a tradeshow in downtown Philadelphia. Don't let the low-key appearance fool you. Great place to eat, food was excellent, service was spot-on and diligent. The service was better than any other restaurant I ate at while in Philadelphia. Breakfast was better than I expected.
