Overall, we had a really good dinner experience at Komodo. We had 9 PM reservations, got there a little early, and were seated almost immediately after only waiting about 5 minutes at the bar, which was great. I ordered a lychee martini while waiting and honestly, it was probably one of the best lychee martinis I've had. Unfortunately, the second one I ordered during dinner just didn't hit the same. Service-wise, everyone was very nice, but the pacing was definitely a little slow throughout the night. As far as the food, everything was good, but I wouldn't say it was the best dinner I've ever had. Some dishes really stood out while others fell a little flat. We started with the Hamachi Jalapeño, which was beautifully done. The fish was sliced perfectly and everything felt really balanced. The Thai grilled shrimp was phenomenal and honestly one of my favorite dishes of the night. We also ordered the A5 Wagyu hot stone. The quality of the Wagyu itself was good, but it was sliced extremely thin and topped with chunks of salt that made each bite overly salty. Personally, if you're serving Wagyu that thin, it really doesn't need much on top, let the meat speak for itself. The pork ribs were delicious: super tender, falling off the bone, and the glaze was incredible. The Peking duck is definitely a must-order here. Absolutely one of the best duck dishes I've had. The Wagyu fried rice had a ton of flavor and everything in it complemented each other really well. The biggest disappointment for me was the garlic lobster lo mein. I had heard so many good things about it beforehand, but honestly, I'd give it a 2/10. The noodles tasted plain, the lobster itself lacked flavor, and it was missing that rich buttery garlic flavor I was expecting. For dessert, we had the Japanese cheesecake. It was fluffy, light, and really good overall. The berry compote leaned a little bitter for my taste, but it didn't ruin the dish. Opened in 2015 as the first restaurant from David Grutman who also runs LIV nightclub, Gekkō with Bad Bunny, and Papi Steak. We had an amazing dinner there but our seats upstairs felt pretty isolated from the main energy. The service was a bit flat compared to other high end spots around town. Still the food was spectacular and totally made up for it. The wagyu skirt steak tacos, crab lo mein and Thai-ger prawn were standouts that left us blown away. I recently finished reading David Grutman's book Take It Personal, and the values he shares around hospitality, culture, and creating unforgettable experiences moved me enough to want to show up in person and pay homage. Service was not too bad but there were some missed drinks and food items, which is understandable given our very large group. My biggest problem with Komodo was the food. It was definitely borderline acceptable, but it was not hitting enough for me given the price point. When you're talking about these price points, I guess you are really paying for the ambiance. Visited Miami for Ultra and my friend who lives in Miami recommended this as one of the places to have dinner- we originally had a res at Sexy Fish but flights were delayed and couldn't make it. Made a last minute res here the day of with no problem. The vibes here are quite Miami without it being too party, I would ask to be seated outside for better ambiance. The stars knocked off here are for the fact that we waited almost 10-15 minutes before we were greeted or brought water after being seated. We had time to select drinks, apps, entrees, and then time to sit and wonder where our server was before we were greeted. The server apologized when she arrived and then brought us the beef jerky dish on the house which we thought was very nice and we loved. However, when she brought the check she handed me the bill. The 18% service charge was not mentioned. When I brought it up she said "oh that's not a tip, we split it" in order to encourage me to add more. If it's not a tip then why did the options on the handheld say "+5% +7%" etc and not the standard 18, 20, 25%? I've worked in restaurants and usually even if you pool tips the service charge goes toward the tip pool? I was planning to tip 20% despite the original hiccup so I just added an additional 5% but this felt pretty awkward and deceptive. We got the salmon tacos, duck lettuce wraps, Wagyu fried rice, salmon entree, some drinks, and 2 desserts. I could have done without the duck lettuce wraps which I thought were not very bland, but thought everything else was quite good. My favorites were the beef jerky and the desserts. Even if the desserts were $20+ each, they were delicious. Bill came out to about $80 per person for 4 people after service charges etc so I didn't think the pricing was terrible. Ok this is my second time at Komodo Miami and I have a love hate relationship with this place. On one hand the food truly is delicious and the vibes are sexy with beautiful decor. HOWEVER, they are so disorganized here. My party of 4 made Friday night dinner reservations here for 9:00 pm but were not seated until 10 pm. Waiting an hour despite having reservations is crazy work to me. It's always chaos near check in with everyone crowded there waiting for their tables and the hostesses looking around trying to find the right group to seat. I had the spicy bluefin tuna roll and wagyu fried rice and they were delicious. My husband enjoyed his NY strip steak and they also have plenty of vegan options which is a plus. Wanted to try a different restaurant - brought a friend from out of town to try Komodo. Was not worth the drive from the beach for us. The cocktails were just ok, the service was fine but the restaurant just wasn't our vibe. The decor and ambience felt dated, & the windows so dirty I thought it was raining outside. I won't even touch on the hostess/bartender uniforms - I'm sure management can do better than that. The restaurant is also very large - indoors and out. Felt like a cruise ship on land or kind of Cheesecake Factory feel. The shishito peppers were not cooked all the way and drowned in a very watered down sauce. The duck lettuce wraps were disappointing - very little ground duck mixed with a sauce that was way too sweet. Out of all the restaurants I've ever been to, I cannot believe I had never been to Komodo in Brickell before ..I wish I had come here sooner! Honestly, this might have been one of the best meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I started off with the fortunes told drink which was vodka, passion fruit , lemon & prosecco. It even came with a fortune cookie. As appetizer we started with the Lobster Dynamite, which was served over crispy rice , incredible. Then came the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, which ended up being my absolute favorite bite of the night. For my main course, I went with the Main Lobster they take half a lobster out of the shell, cover it in garlic butter, then put it back in. It was melt in your mouth delicious. My boyfriend had the Wagyu Skirt Steak topped with crispy onions, and it was just as amazing. We also shared the Wagyu Fried Rice, which was phenomenal. For dessert, we tried the Japanese Cheesecake, which had more of a cake texture than a traditional cheesecake, but it was still light, fluffy, and delicious. The Chocolate Dumplings were also a hit ..was like a creamy chocolate ice cream with a hint of raspberry, such a fun and unique treat. I also have to mention our server, Douglas, who was fantastic. Not worth the money. For the price point, you expect an elevated experience--Komodo delivers the opposite. Service was cold. No eye contact, no warm greeting--just a group of hostesses standing around with their cleavage hanging out, asking if we had a reservation. Every staff interaction felt rushed and transactional, usually answered with one-word responses. The only thing they seemed focused on was constantly clearing the table. The food was subpar at best. The hamachi roll was shockingly low quality--I've never seen yellowtail mashed into a paste like that. The so-called Wagyu skirt steak was tough, poorly seasoned, and nothing about it justified the Wagyu label. The duck, which they're supposedly known for, was fine but not memorable and certainly not better than what we've had elsewhere. Our group of 7 went for Christmas Day dinner and everyone was super happy and impressed. We had a reservation seated outside on the beautifully decorated patio. The weather was perfect and the server was on their A game. We started with cocktails and I enjoyed a delicious lychee martini. We shared everything and our group is partly vegetarian and not big meat eaters. We had a lot of sides and veggies. The chicken salad is so good we had to order 2 for the table. (Chicken on the side) We had a few rolls and a cooked salmon dish. Dessert was cheese cake. There's so many dishes to try we have to go back... We are in the senior citizen demographic but our kids took us so we can be cool and hip now. There is a club vibe and DJ playing music as it gets a little later. Wow, Komodo Miami is definitely worth a visit! We were here as tourists. We only stopped by for dessert and drinks, but were really blown away. It was very crowded when we went and we were lucky to be able to find a bar on the second floor with just four seats that we could eat at without reservations. However, if you plan to eat here, make reservations--then I think STILL plan to wait. As you arrive, there will be ropes with two hefty bouncers. We just kind of walked by--I think they may be screening how well you are dressed, because when we were there people were dressed really well. Then as you wait in, you will see some Peking duck hanging up. That seems to be a signature dish and does look good. Then as you come in, there is bar with no seats and when we were there, about 50 people drinking and I think waiting for tables. We kind of walked through crowd and someone told us about that second story bar. Drink menu is original--for Pokemon fans they even have a Pikachu drink. I had a cocktail called the Golden Tiger, with Bourbon and goldenberry. It was excellent. It was expensive, but include some gold flakes on top so tough to complain. My wife had the ginger passion fruit mule. Great twist on the Moscow Mule, passion fruit flavor was great. Then for dessert, there was one that cost $35 called the Tropical Dragon. We had to see what a $35 dessert was. The presentation is great. It is in the shape of a dragon, then has a sparkler and smoke from dried ice, then this liquid gets poured over the dragon. That alone kind of made it worth it, but then the taste was incredible. I love fruit and meringue, which this delivered in a beautiful way, then the coconut semifreddo was perfect (and demonstrated strong skills). I never thought I would find a $35 dessert that was a bargain, but this really was. Next time in Miami, we will plan ahead to get reservations and definitely eat here again. read more

We ended up walking here but they do have valet parking. We were visiting the area so not sure about other parking options. Before I mention anything else, we came here for Valentine's day on a Friday so it was absolutely packed. We had a reservation for 7 pm and showed up about 15 minutes early and sat at around 7:15 or so. We talked ro another couple who had a reservation at 6:30 who didn't get sat until 7:10. We got a drink at the bar, my husband got the Pikachu and I ordered the Fortune Cookie (which came with an actual fortune cookie). The fortune cookie drink was good but got a little soggy for the short time it was in the drink. Service was okay, not sure if it would be better on night that aren't insanely busy. We barely saw him and had to flag him down a couple times. Overall, super friendly. Food was delicious. We ordered the Waygu Skirt Steak Tacos and the Surf & Turf Shumai. Loved both and I would recommend the shumai. For our main, we splurged for the Peking duck and also got the waygu fried rice. Peking duck was actually very good. I did like the waygu fried rice but it was a little too salty for my taste and I kept having to flag someone down for more water. The waygu is in a little bit of a different form compared to waygu slices, it was still tender, just not melt in your mouth. For dessert, we got the Vietnamese coffee cheesecake. While this was good, it was pretty sweet and I'd probably recommend it with some coffee. Overall, food was good, I think I'd come back if we were back in the area. read more

Consistently my favorite restaurant in miami! It is such a delicious and fun place to go with friends. You may even spot some celebrities if you go on the weekends. The service is always quick and professional. Always go for the salmon tacos! They are a flavor explosion of delicious salmon, truffle and eel sauce with a wonton shell. The lobster dynamite are always a good option too! Served crispy rice style. The shishito peppers are delicious, they are very saucy and the sauce is great. The shrimp tempura is surprisingly very good and i dont usually go for tempura but i love it paired with the pear. We always get the wagyu beef dumplings and they are great. The vegetable fried rice is a classic and very good. We really enjoyed the build your own duck wraps as well: the duck meat is so tender. My favorite thing on the menu is the mushroom lo mein. it is like a caccio e pepe meets truffle but Asian version. Ive had the crab lo mein before and it's not as good. For this review I will mention my recent experience (first week of January 2026) Reservations are a must as this restaurant is supper busy ! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous- it is a bit loud but i personally love it. We had one bad situation with the hostess as they were trying to seat us in a two top on their second floor (completely fine). I had asked the hostess to use the elevator in which she replied "it's not a long set of stairs" so I went along with the stairs - however I would have preferred to take the elevator due to my multiple knee surgeries and prefer avoiding stairs. I would suggest if a customer asks to take the elevator it should be encouraged and not dismissed. When we got to the table it was crammed between two large parties making it difficult to pull the seats out and even more difficult to sit down. We went back to the host stand where the Maitre D' said there was no other tables available- I asked for a manager & was introduced to Prince who was professional and understanding of our situation- he had a table ready for us immediately !! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Their spicy edamame is a MUST order! I always order their blue fin nigiri & their spicy steak ! We also had their spicy veggies and fried rice as sides absolutely delicious !! Sides are good size about 2-4 people .. their peanut butter bar dessert is soooo good ! I accidentally stained my white dress and our busser ( Pierce ) supplied me with warm water and a moist towelette which completely removed my stain !! Komodo is the BEST Miami/Brickell restaurant !! What a spectacular experience! So much fun! The food was extraordinary. Every bite a sensual bliss worthy of a sigh. The sushi was some of the best I've ever eaten and believe me when I say I've eaten it all.. The snapper was so delicate so delicate & the Peking duck was succulent!
