Came to Komodo with a large group and was surprised by just how big this establishment was. We had a large group, which this place seems to accompdate well with many larger tables available. Service was not too bad but there were some missed drinks and food items, which is understandable given our very large group. My biggest problem with Komodo was the food. It was definitely borderline acceptable, but it was not hitting enough for me given the price point. When you're talking about these price points, I guess you are really paying for the ambiance. There were a few tasty items though, including the miso sea bass!

Beautiful location, nice decor, kind and courteous staff. We enjoyed a stroll through Asia tasting japanese sushi, korean chicken, Chinese pork ribs and of course the amazing Peking duck. Also liked the wagyu tacos.

Came here for a birthday dinner and we had an AMAZING time. The food, service, and ambiance were all good. Highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. Parking is easier to valet or you'll have to find near by street or garage parking. Prices are reasonable based on what it is you're getting. Shoutout to waiter, Douglas - he was great at being attentive and patient with our group!

Visited Miami for Ultra and my friend who lives in Miami recommended this as one of the places to have dinner- we originally had a res at Sexy Fish but flights were delayed and couldn't make it. Made a last minute res here the day of with no problem. The vibes here are quite Miami without it being too party, I would ask to be seated outside for better ambiance. The stars knocked off here are for the fact that we waited almost 10-15 minutes before we were greeted or brought water after being seated. We had time to select drinks, apps, entrees, and then time to sit and wonder where our server was before we were greeted. The server apologized when she arrived and then brought us the beef jerky dish on the house which we thought was very nice and we loved. However, when she brought the check she handed me the bill. The 18% service charge was not mentioned. When I brought it up she said "oh that's not a tip, we split it" in order to encourage me to add more. If it's not a tip then why did the options on the handheld say "+5% +7%" etc and not the standard 18, 20, 25%? I've worked in restaurants and usually even if you pool tips the service charge goes toward the tip pool? I was planning to tip 20% despite the original hiccup so I just added an additional 5% but this felt pretty awkward and deceptive. We got the salmon tacos, duck lettuce wraps, Wagyu fried rice, salmon entree, some drinks, and 2 desserts. I could have done without the duck lettuce wraps which I thought were not very bland, but thought everything else was quite good. My favorites were the beef jerky and the desserts. Even if the desserts were $20+ each, they were delicious. Bill came out to about $80 per person for 4 people after service charges etc so I didn't think the pricing was terrible. I would come back here to try other stuff on the menu but hopefully the service was just a one off.

Make a reservation!! The line was almost out the door when we got there but we had made a reservation and were sat within 10 minutes. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and upscale, making it the perfect spot for a night out. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The real standout for me was the sea bass. It quite literally melted in your mouth. Our server was attentive and friendly, and everything came out seamlessly. If you're looking for a top-tier dining experience with amazing food and a great vibe, Komodo is a must visit.

Komodo is a MUST visit in Miami. This restaurant is constantly being recognized as one of the best in Miami, and there is no surprise why. Everything about this place is phenomenal! The atmosphere is fully immersive and so stylish; the ambience is fantastic; this is perfect for a date night, celebration or nice business meal. The service is top notch and you feel truly taken care of when you go here The food is executed to perfection! The Peking duck is a star dish and tastes unbelievable; the sushi and sashimi and incredibly fresh! The short ribs and dumplings are so tasty and seriously every single dish here tastes amazing. Their cocktails are phenomenal as well and the Pikachu is so cool!

Such a beautiful restaurant - inside and outside dining areas with dimmed lighting for dinner. From drinks all the way to dessert, each meal was flavorful and delicious! Especially the dessert where our waiter poured the sauces over the cheesecake for an interactive experience! Service was excellent - attentive and professional.

Ok this is my second time at Komodo Miami and I have a love hate relationship with this place. On one hand the food truly is delicious and the vibes are sexy with beautiful decor. HOWEVER, they are so disorganized here. My party of 4 made Friday night dinner reservations here for 9:00 pm but were not seated until 10 pm. Waiting an hour despite having reservations is crazy work to me. It's always chaos near check in with everyone crowded there waiting for their tables and the hostesses looking around trying to find the right group to seat. I had the spicy bluefin tuna roll and wagyu fried rice and they were delicious. My husband enjoyed his NY strip steak and they also have plenty of vegan options which is a plus. My vegan friend enjoyed her garden roll and edamame and brussel sprouts. Even though the food was good I'm not sure if it's worth standing there and waiting a whole hour for.

Wanted to try a different restaurant - brought a friend from out of town to try Komodo. Was not worth the drive from the beach for us. The cocktails were just ok, the service was fine but the restaurant just wasn't our vibe. The decor and ambience felt dated, & the windows so dirty I thought it was raining outside. I won't even touch on the hostess/bartender uniforms - I'm sure management can do better than that. The restaurant is also very large - indoors and out. Felt like a cruise ship on land or kind of Cheesecake Factory feel. The shishito peppers were not cooked all the way and drowned in a very watered down sauce. The duck lettuce wraps were disappointing - very little ground duck mixed with a sauce that was way too sweet. The Chinese pork ribs were a winner, especially after the previous disappointing apps, as well as the nigiri sushi. The duck looked enticing but we just ate duck the night before. Won't be back but if you go stick to sushi and the Chinese pork ribs.

Out of all the restaurants I've ever been to, I cannot believe I had never been to Komodo in Brickell before ..I wish I had come here sooner! Honestly, this might have been one of the best meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I started off with the fortunes told drink which was vodka, passion fruit , lemon & prosecco. It even came with a fortune cookie. As appetizer we started with the Lobster Dynamite, which was served over crispy rice , incredible. Then came the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, which ended up being my absolute favorite bite of the night. For my main course, I went with the Main Lobster they take half a lobster out of the shell, cover it in garlic butter, then put it back in. It was melt in your mouth delicious. My boyfriend had the Wagyu Skirt Steak topped with crispy onions, and it was just as amazing. We also shared the Wagyu Fried Rice, which was phenomenal. For dessert, we tried the Japanese Cheesecake, which had more of a cake texture than a traditional cheesecake, but it was still light, fluffy, and delicious. The Chocolate Dumplings were also a hit ..was like a creamy chocolate ice cream with a hint of raspberry, such a fun and unique treat. I also have to mention our server, Douglas, who was fantastic. He was thorough in explaining the dishes on the menu, gave thoughtful recommendations, and provided excellent service throughout the night. Komodo absolutely blew me away. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, everything was on point. I can confidently say this is now one of my top favorite restaurants, and I can't wait to come back!

Not worth the money. For the price point, you expect an elevated experience--Komodo delivers the opposite. Service was cold. No eye contact, no warm greeting--just a group of hostesses standing around with their cleavage hanging out, asking if we had a reservation. Every staff interaction felt rushed and transactional, usually answered with one-word responses. The only thing they seemed focused on was constantly clearing the table. The food was subpar at best. The hamachi roll was shockingly low quality--I've never seen yellowtail mashed into a paste like that. The so-called Wagyu skirt steak was tough, poorly seasoned, and nothing about it justified the Wagyu label. The duck, which they're supposedly known for, was fine but not memorable and certainly not better than what we've had elsewhere. The space itself feels tired and overly bright, lacking ambiance and attention to detail. Stained napkins, worn finishes, and a bathroom experience that felt closer to a gas station than a high-end restaurant rounded out the visit.

I went for Miami Spice without expecting much, but they completely proved me wrong. The Miami Spice menu had some really solid options, and everything we tried was delicious -- especially the wagyu steak and the spicy lobster rice, which were definite standouts. Even the bluefin tuna roll, which ended up being my least favorite dish of the night, was still good enough that I'd give it a 7/10. The overall vibe of the place felt more like a club than a traditional restaurant, and it truly delivered that signature Miami energy. On top of that, the service was amazing -- the staff was extremely attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the entire experience, which really tied everything together.

Amazing service and ambience! The food is beyond delicious! Prepared to perfection! It is a little pricey, but worth it.

Can i take my toddler to the restaurant w me?

    Absolutely

Hello Yelpers - do they have happy hour?

Can I bring balloons for a birthday dinner?

    Yes you can

Will you get charged for cancelling a reservation?

    No not at all

Do you split checks for a group?

everything has to be all on one check and you can use up to 4 cards to split payments

Is there an extra charge to sit in the birds nest and do you have to reserve it?

No extra charge; unsure if you can request it. They simply sat us there!

For night time(lounge) diez Komodo ID or only when ordering alcohol?

I believe I was only asked for my ID when ordering drinks.

    Is there a dress code?

Casual, however people usually dress up

Is it 21+ for the restaurant as well or only the bar, can u get in at 19?

Any age can dine. The restaurant will not ID unless you are ordering alcohol

How late is the kitchen open on a Thursday night?

I believe midnight. I think their last reservations are at 10:30pm

    Is there a minimum age?

Not for dinner, only for the bar.

    Can you bring a cake?

We allow to bring cakes and charge a cutting cake fee of $8 per guest.

    Is this in a hotel?

The restaurant is not in a hotel building but there are a few nice hotels in the area very close. It is in an office building, in Brickell. They take valet but you have to pay to park!

    Do they take walk ins?

Yes they take walk ins but there will probably be a long wait depending on time and day. Like weekends around night time there will be a long wait. I always make a reservation when I go!

Hello, does the restaurant do anything special for people's birthdays?

They will put candles on your dessert and sing happy birthday :)

Hey I got a question can you smoke at the restaurant?

Good evening, Guests are allowed to smoke cigarettes in our garden only.

    Are kids allowed?

Yes they are. Hopefully yours are well behaved so they do not disturb the other restaurant patrons. Nothing is more frustrating than the parents to bring kids and allow them to run up and down the isles screaming and hollering.

Are reservations only being done online?

Hi Bethany, you can also make a reservation over the phone which is (305) 534-2211, or directly in person.

    Any gluten free options?

I think they may be closed. Call them before you go.

What's an average bill for two?

That depends on how much you drink.

The drinks were really good! My only complaint is the price. Of course handcrafted cocktails are expensive, especially in Miami, but wow. The drinks were really small, and had so much ice that they ended up being not very many sips at all. The bar was lit, poppin' and vibrant. We were waiting by the end of the counter where they checked out other patrons near the sitting area. We were overlooked many times... I locked eyes with one of the bartender and she completely looked away from me.. several times :( took about 15 minutes and we reached our arms out and flagged bartender Reilly. Her greeting and attention was genuine so I was happy to get her. Unfortunately, she got busy and we got the initial lady that ignored us. She was not kind, not attentive and didn't really want to help us - she was very fake. With that being said, we had to remind her of our drinks after 20 minutes of placing the order, in which she responded with an attitude "it's being made. We're busy" -_- -_- :( the attitude was not needed. We watched others that came in before us being served. :( I was completely annoyed and upset. She didn't even bring the drinks to us like the other bartenders were doing, she made us get it. Poor service from this one bartender while the others were happy and servicing their patrons. After our first drinks, I noticed she spoke to her colleague and he came over and asked if we wanted to close out.. . Wtf kicking us out? We said no and he opened a tab. When she noticed we were ordering more, she was a bit more attentive. So wrong. Luckily, the drinks were delicious. Perfect. We did end up coming back to the Lasseter and got a gentleman bartender that was so kind and attentive and made our drinks even better! The attention to detail and love he made in my drinks, so that is why I decided to make make this a 3 stars rather than two. He saved this place. The toilet sitting area is very warm, not very air conditioned properly so expect to be a little warm especially after a couple of sips. It's also the walkway to an actual big restrooms for the whole building. The drinks are VERY pricy but the setting is perfect and makes up for it. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par. Disney priced drinks without the Disney customer service. Do I want to come back? Yes. Am I going to be picky with the vibes coming from the bartender and chose who to go to? Also yes. Hopefully, I can increase the rating.
