Exterior paint job 1200 sqft house $4,600 May 2019. Very responsive. Came same day and walked the property to give an estimate. His was about $800 higher than the lowest of the other two companies that came to give estimates, but we chose to go with him based on his knowledge and experience. He did extensive, extensive pre-work on the house. So much so that a lot of the neighbors asked for the company information to pursue Tama Painting for their needs when they're ready to paint. James was also happy to educate us on the process and products he would be using. We ended up with a broken exterior light arm-was removed for painting but snapped at the plastic base that goes into the socket- was kind enough to tape back together so we could still use the light. Haven't found a good replacement for it yet though. And one gash/dent in the gutter at the front of the house by the front door, and another at the rear of the house from the ladder hitting it. They're aluminum and kind of fragile- roofer that installed them said to just leave it alone since it's just cosmetic damage and doesn't mess with the gutters ability to do their job and it's just a dent with the enamel scratched off. A year and a half later house still looks great. He sealed some stucco cracks that were not addressed by the previous owners/sellers. Great experience, and very quick turn around. It's very seldom that I write a review. However, after getting my house painted by Tama Painting I felt compelled to write a review. If I could give ten stars then Tama Painting would have received ten stars. James did such an excellent job. He was so detailed and caring. The prep work was very detailed and thoughtful that it felt like he treated my house as if it was his very own house. The personal touch and his guidance through the whole process was excellent. The whole paint job was excellent and that I would give 5 stars. But what took it over the top was the thoughtfulness, the caring, the punctuality, the personality, the guidance, the patience, and his knowledge. With that James & Tama Painting receive an additional 5 stars, for a grand total of 10, which is really an understatement. I can be a very picky person, so for me to write such a good review, it says a lot about Tama Painting & James as the Owner. James Tama exceeded our expectations in so many ways that I had post this review. We've never had anyone respond so quickly to our request for an estimate and then start to work so soon after we agreed to have him do the work. You would think that would only happen if someone was not good and desperate for work, but James, as mentioned in other reviews, is a true craftsman and does an incredible, thorough job. He understood our needs and could examine our house and explain what was going on with our stucco coming off in places around our house. He told us what would work best for us, and you could tell he was genuinely concerned about us. It showed in his work too, besides patching the missing stucco, and painting the stucco and eaves, he took care of little things we didn't even think about. Our house looks so much better now! Doing an exceptional alone would be enough, but on top of that, James and his other crew member enjoy their work, have a great sense of humor, and take pride in doing a great job and making the customer happy. read more

We were extremely satisfied with the professional and meticulous paint work of James Tama and his assistant Dimas. Over 3 days, they did everything possible to beautify the exterior of our house. For very fair pricing, every part of the exterior was primed and painted to perfection - walls, eaves, gutters, exterior wiring, door trim and window trim. Broken and loose stucco were removed, filled and textured to match surrounding walls. They filled, sealed unsightly cracks then painted the driveway retaining wall. Mr. Tama moisture-sealed the tiled walkway leading to the front entrance. We felt that James and Dimas were continually communicative and consulted us on any detail that needed our input and decision. They made useful and practical suggestions that we appreciated. They did some extra work that we did not even consider, at no added cost. Nothing was taken for granted, and the end result was the wonderful exterior work we had envisioned. I had read many great reviews on Next-door app. about Tama Painting company. I was especially interested in the reviews about his detailed prep work. My house had many cracks and issues and had not been painted in a very long time. James came and gave me an estimate promptly and explained in great detail the work he planned to do. I did not get other bids because of his attention to detail. He is very busy with clients so I had to wait a few weeks for the work to start.James and nelson were both there promptly each day. They made sure every thing was well prepared and made sure everything cleaned up. My garage door needs replacing at some point and I didn't think it could be revitalized.I was wrong I was so shocked how great they were able to make it look. I am beyond happy with how my house looks and love driving up and see my restored house looks. I love that I have a couple of neighbors now wanting to use him to also paint their homes. When we saw the beautifully painted house across the street, we spoke to James Tama about painting our house, too. The wood sidings on our home, garage doors, and fascia were fading and chipping as a result of the morning sunshine and weathering. James and Nelson primed all the wood surfaces and filled all the cracks and voids with great effort before painting. James Tama and Nelson did a very professional job, showed up promptly each day, protected the job site, and cleaned up after each workday. Our family home needed to be painted. In the local Marketplace magazine, my husband found James from Tama Painting. The quote he gave us was competitive and we ended up choosing his company. We asked him for advice on paint colors and brands, he even convinced me to paint the garage door(which I love).
