I got the 1hr deep tissue massage and Derrick released the tension from muscles I didn't even realize I had. I have chronic lower back pain, ankle tendonitis, and knee pain. Derrick was very attentive to these areas/injuries. After my massage I felt my entire lower back relax and release. I was ready for bed as soon as I left the studio. The business itself is a little challenging to see if you're driving at night - but if you pass Snazzy Jazzy dog grooming you've gone too far. There is ample parking in the back lot. During the massage Derrick had soothing relaxation music playing in the background. The space overall was very comfortable and smelled pleasant. Derrick was professional, communicative and super attuned to my comfort level during the massage. I'll definitely be back.

We tried contacting several spas and massage providers who either didn't have the availability or didn't respond back. Finally, I texted Metta on the number listed on their website and they responded within a few hours. We were able to schedule sessions for the time and day we wanted via text which was very convenient. My masseuse called out sick the day of so I was paired with Forest. My boyfriend was paired with Tav. Both providers were friendly and accomodating. My boyfriend LOVED his massage with Tav. He said he dozed off a few times and could see himself coming back every month - such a great sign for someone new to massage. I enjoyed my session with Forest as well and left feeling relaxed. A few things to note: they don't provide couples massages but instead do tandem massages. Meaning, you're in different rooms. This wasn't a dealbreaker for us but could be for others depending on your preference. They also still require masks here. We brought our own surgical masks but were asked to use their K95 masks they provided. This was a little uncomfortable during the service, especially while facing down, but I can understand the need if they have a lot of immunocompromised clients or staff members.

Golden Massage Spa sits by itself in what looks like a house turned business which gave it a cozy and relaxing feel. The ladies were very welcoming and even gave me a tour when I arrived. The place was clean and well kept. I absolutely loved my massage. The pressure was perfect since I prefer a very deep tissue massage. A woman stepped in front of the gentleman who was settling the bill and told that I must tip more than I tipped and demanded me to tip at least 20%. I asked the woman who didn't identify herself to me "Are telling me the paying customer how much I have to tip?" She said "yes". So beware of this business practice that will I'm sure close the business down. I am a repeat customer of dozens of visits. I am an African American who is respectful and peaceful. I felt taken advantage of by the woman who demanded a higher tip because I was drained from a 30 minute massage and too relaxed to challenge her. When I arrived home I still didn't get over what I experienced. I am now going with another Spa from here on.
