Had a great visit to Tame in the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. The shawarma beef was packed with flavor and cooked just right. Great spot for some tasty food and a laid-back Funk Zone vibe. Definitely worth checking out!

Casual coffee bar and Mediterranean food place with counter service. The delicious food and generous quantities explain the long lines at lunchtime. Having small appetites, we shared a mezze plate which was quite sufficient. Greatplace for cheap, satisfying eats.

It's definitely a bit pricey but the sandwiches are sized pretty well. The service is good too, nice people. It's usually pretty busy so seating is tricky at times. It's a nice place by the beach.

I am such a big fan in Middle Eastern food and have wanted to go to Tamar for a long while. It's located in the same space as Dart Coffee with plenty of outdoor seating. My husband had the lamb kofta plate with cabbage salad, pilaf, hummus, pita and pickled veg. Served with an array of sauces--the garlic sauce was terrific. All tasty. I wish there was little more on the plate for the price $26. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich, which was good but needed more chicken. It was mostly filled with cabbage. So much so that posting a picture of it just looks like bread and cabbage salad. I upgraded to get a drink (blueberry lemonade - the best) and a tiny little bite size piece of baklava. I will be back to try the falafel.

Wow, the flavors this restaurant puts out are phenomenal! We really loved the dip trip plate, which we chose to include the hummus, labneh, and the whipped cheese (our favorite). We also got a side of lamb kofta and a chicken schwarma sandwich. The lamb was super tender and flavorful. But the star of the show was the sandwich. Unbelievably flavorful, well seasoned, pickled cabbage added that brightness, and the pita was warm and delicious. I believe they make their pita in house! The location is decorated nicely with plenty of parking. It's a shared space with a coffee shop. I think this place will probably outgrow the location quickly. Service was good as well! I wish there was one in LA so I could have it more often!

This was a bombbbb lunch spot. Stumbled upon it while looking for parking. I believe one of the owners name was Logan? He was super sweet & informative. Very delicious food, great portions & so flavorful. The chicken shawarma pita, beef shawarma pita, the lamb kafta & dip trip were all soooo good. Chill, seat yourself type atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back

Located in the Dart coffee shop, Tamar offers middle eastern eats best for lunch. You can order online for quick pick up or delivery or just stop by. The lamb kofta sandwich was delicious and a decent size. Has a ton of flavor with harissa sauce and green sauce on the side with pickled veggies. The pita bread is thin and soft and delicious. The only downside is that they could have portioned more meat and not so much veggies, better balance. The falafels are a must to get and the lemon based sauce that it comes with is extremely delicious. I will be back to try other items. My concerns are that the service is ok, they seemed flustered since it was a little busy and the price is a little high.

A little pricey but food was delicious, it's halal, and the place is such a vibe. Highly recommend

We definitely made the right decision by heeding her advice - every single item was a home run. The Oyster Mushroom Skewers and nachos were insane appetizers, and the Gringa + Crunchwrap were both amazing meals. The cha cha tofu was also banging and was a uniquely amazing side dish. We tried the garlic noodles, spicy beef noodles, popcorn chicken, and corn dumplings. The garlic noodles were creamy and the spicy noodles had good flavor, but the dishes overall felt a bit underwhelming. The popcorn chicken was soggy (but probably cause I had it to go), though it wasn't particularly memorable, and the corn dumpling were fine but didn't leave a lasting impression. The service was friendly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, which we appreciated. The restaurant had a relaxed, casual atmosphere that made it a comfortable place to grab a meal, but was super packed for a weekday. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't anything special. I might give it another try in the future and order some of their more popular items before making a final judgment.

The other dishes were very underwhelming, and it was really tough to get the attention of my server. She was about 9 years old and shaking while she poured us water, which made us feel badly for her and not really understand why a child was working at this upscale restaurant but watching the only server/owner running around on the floor it seemed necessary to have this child working the host stand. I understand they were busy or understaffed, but we had a variety of issues throughout our visit that went unaddressed with what resulted in a very odd outburst. The wait for drinks was 20+ minutes, and the wait for a food order exceeded an hour. One drink came out incorrectly. 30+ minutes after ordering our bread came out cold and without butter, and of our party of 3, one guest's entree took an additional 10 minutes to come out without any acknowledgement from staff. Overall the service was really disappointing and there was no apology at any point throughout our meal even though it seemed clear the service was lacking throughout our visit. When the server/owner came to drop our check he asked how our experience was. I truly tried to be as polite as possible while explaining our frustrations. In addition to the long wait times, we had a drink come out the wrong flavor, a rude bartender, and one crepe came out without the Brie as described, which I didn't get a chance to explain. I also mentioned having a child greet us was unexpected to which he told us he was teaching his child responsibility and that's why she was working. He seemed set off by the feedback I was trying to give and he then threw my credit card onto the table and he told me he didn't want my money. I didn't want a free meal, I wanted to give feedback into our experience which I would classify as the worst restaurant service I have ever had. I keep replaying the whole experience trying to figure out what I could have done differently to have had a positive experience but as a long time server in Santa Barbara I'm having a hard time reconciling this crazy experience.
