The fried cod is perfectly cooked in clean oil you can tell... I took photos everything including the abeyance and service is the bomb. Was recommended and now I pass that on to you!!!

Navajo Fry Bread with chicken, corn, beans, cheese, avocado, plus red and green sauce

Really happy we stopped in here on a cross country roadtrip. Food was delicious, server Anna was delightful, and clean restrooms. We love local places with authentic hospitality, and we'd recommend anyone stop here. Even bought a sticker and a geode from the small assortment of gifts and t-shirts near the register.

Great spot to stop by to eat on a roadtrip ! My French dip was shockingly tender. I would recommend getting their desserts too

A T-bone steak with fire roasted corn and mashed potatoes was my order. Overall excellent food. Hardy and homemade accompanied by friendly customer service provided by a super hot waitress, I forgot her name, but it started with an A, lol, great location by the river and friendly small town vibe!

The Tamarisk Restaurant overlooks the Green River and, inside, is a very large lighted sign hanging from a wall that says RURAL & PROUD. There is, indeed, a sense of pride in this restaurant that has a long and varied menu. There are little design touches that make this an inviting place. It seems to be a beacon because the parking lot is often filled with the cars and big trucks of locals who are probably regulars. Portions here are large. My tasty gringo version of huevos rancheros for breakfast could have served two or three people. As I sat in the predawn looking out the floor to ceiling windows at the river while sipping my black coffee, this was the best seat in town. There are few restaurant choices but Tamarisk seems to do a good job of serving the community and the many travelers who stop in Green River on their way to more iconic places east and west of Interstate 70.

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Tamarisk restaurant yesterday. It has a great view of the green river and a friendly atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and seated and then our server Anna introduced herself and we asked her about any favorite menu items of her. She suggested that we try one of the fry bread tacos. How often are you going to have authentic Navajo fry bread topped with delicious taco toppings. There is a beef option in a chicken option. We got the chicken open face taco with guacamole, cheese, black beans, and roasted corn. It was incredible and definitely the right choice. You're not gonna find this anywhere else probably. It was plenty for us to share the single dish and we actually had a bit of leftovers to take home. Highly recommend stopping here. It's very scenic and the food is terrific as well as the service.

Strolled into green river and was looking for a nice spot for dinner. Tamarisk delivers with great food, superb service and just a nice relaxed ambiance. Solid choice.

Beautiful location with a view! Food was delicious we had the chicken salad, country fried steak, soup of the day and the peanut butter mocha! I recommend all the dishes! Staff was attentive and friendly! Definitely sit by the window if you can to see the River.

Staying overnight in Green River and Tamarisk is really the only option in town for non-fast food. Fortunately it turned out to be a great option! We timed our visit for sunset and got seated immediately in a nice window booth facing west with a view of the river. The menu is extensive and has lots of options. We enjoyed a beer while looking the menu over. Tom ordered chicken fajitas which he liked - generous portion and the server added guac for no add'l charge. Served with the usual accompaniments plus cilantro rice and black beans. I ordered the 12 oz sirloin, med rare, plus mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed broccoli. The steak was cooked perfectly and the broccoli was nice and crisp. Mashed potatoes tasted homemade with, at my request, brown gravy. All good! Our server, a young man not yet old enough to serve alcohol, was really nice and attentive. Total tab before tip was $59. Would definitely return to this great local restaurant next time passing through.

Welcome to a true oasis in Utah! You go here for comfort food and end up happy - definitely the best food and service option in Green River and for at least an hour's drive either direction. Dinner was even better than breakfast at the Tamarisk Restaurant! We especially enjoyed the "chicken fried" steak and chicken with fresh veggie options on the side. They make cocktails (super sweet!) and offer a nice little selection of wines. For breakfast I got an omelette that was overcooked with a very dense biscuit. Really wish I'd gone with the pancakes and sausage I saw other people happily devouring. The regular coffee here is great - and they have all the latte options as well. Beautiful view of the Green River from this charming restaurant - cozy, positive vibes inside. Note: We stayed overnight in one of the rooms downstairs and LOVED it - and your breakfast is included with the room price.

Seated quickly and listened to the waitress chat it up for 8 mins as we patiently waited to be served. Had to get up and ask if there was a waitress. She(Barb) finally stated what can I get for you. Put our orders in and Barb went to another table and started chatting with another couple. She just continued to yap and yap about personal stuff. Finally got our Navajo bread. Very tasty. Chicken fajitas had plenty of veggies but bland. Beans and rice needed salt. Wife enjoyed the chicken fried steak.

Word to the wise: come here during sunset! Overlooking Green River, Tamarisk Restaurant offers serene views and a diverse menu with options for every palette, from salads and sandwiches to steaks and Mexican dishes. The hostess greeted us warmly and we were immediately seated in a half-booth table with awesome river views. My friend ordered the T Bone Special, and was a bit disappointed. For one, it was nowhere close to medium rare and appeared very well done. I got the chicken enchiladas and was satisfied with my dish. The red sauce was classic red enchilada sauce, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor and ended up slathering it in hot sauce. Our service was simple yet effective and we loved the carafe of Dr. Pepper left at our table!

We sat at this huge table in the middle, with cactus and succulents and southwest decor about the walls. Not overdone, very desert themed (of course). My wife ordered an omelette and my daughter some pancakes. I went with a biscuit that was huge - friend chicken, bacon, over easy egg, gravy, grilled jalapeños. Hit the spot, it was incredible and everything my breakfast had been missing the previous 43 years of life. Our server was Alyssa, or Alissa - the name was the same both days but spelled differently and 2 different people. Yes, it was so good and fresh and service amazing we went back a second time! I tried a different biscuit, and then and there decided I did not want to ever visit Moab and not eat here. We waited the second time to get a seat, didn't even care. Both servers were amazing, unfortunately I did NOT write their names down and I'm writing a review from a year ago, but the truly had the same name, just different spelling. In fact, our server from our first visit was there with her family as a customer when we were there the second time! As someone who spent my careers in restaurants, that is not only a testament to the quality of the food but also the culture of the establishment: you can't put a price on that. I can't wait to go back!

We got the AM Tacos (with bacon) and the Southwest Bowl (with fried chicken) and an order of Mini-Jacks. The tacos were so good! I asked for a side of green chile sauce and that made them next level. We don't recommend getting fried chicken on the SW Bowl. The bowl was great, but the chicken was only okay. A little tough and chewy and probably not the best choice for that meal. The mini jacks were the star of the show! Fluffy, light, with a hint of sweetness and served with a huge dollop of soft butter. The restaurant was busy, but our service was great and it was a relaxed vibe. Lots of folks looked like they were heading out or getting back from outdoor activities.

My partner and I both ordered the Cowboy Jalapeño Cheeseburger. He had the tater tots and a large soda, and I went with the french fries and a large chocolate shake. The burger absolutely blew me away. I love a good burger, and this one shot straight to the top of my list. It was juicy, flavorful, perfectly messy, and worth every napkin. And the fries... don't even get me started. I honestly don't think I've ever had fries quite like these. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and incredibly addictive. This place just screams local in all the best ways. There's no indoor seating but there are plenty of shaded picnic tables outside that make for a great place to enjoy your meal. The Eggs Benedict are really so delicious. They use a non-traditional hollandaise sauce which, amazingly amped up the flavor of the eggs! And the eggs were perfectly made so that the whites were thoroughly cooked and the yolk was runny. Odd, but this is a difficult thing to get in a restaurant. The meal was served with delicious home fries where the potatoes were moist and flavored. We also ordered a side of their thick bacon, which had a bit of a different flavor - very nice. The bacon was perfectly cooked. We took a chance on the egg scramble, which had lots of promise with the many ingredients listed, but the eggs were overcooked and dry, so the other ingredients couldn't compensate. They served the eggs with a very nice bread for their toast. We almost didn't come here as we only saw the side of the building, which was a very small house looking structure. But as you continue down the street, you can see that they have expanded their restaurant to include the dining area: an "inside" area and a patio area. All of this new structure is glass or plastic windows, they have heating and cooling to accommodate for the time of day and they did a great job of making a pleasant eatery. Everyone we met at the restaurant was pleasant and kind. It was such an enjoyable time. We have a few more days in Moab, so we will be back.
