We came here for breakfast towards the end of our trip, and the menu, first off, had something for everyone with a Mexican influence. We sat at this huge table in the middle, with cactus and succulents and southwest decor about the walls. Not overdone, very desert themed (of course). My wife ordered an omelette and my daughter some pancakes. I went with a biscuit that was huge - friend chicken, bacon, over easy egg, gravy, grilled jalapeños. Hit the spot, it was incredible and everything my breakfast had been missing the previous 43 years of life. Our server was Alyssa, or Alissa - the name was the same both days but spelled differently and 2 different people. Yes, it was so good and fresh and service amazing we went back a second time! I tried a different biscuit, and then and there decided I did not want to ever visit Moab and not eat here. We waited the second time to get a seat, didn't even care. Both servers were amazing, unfortunately I did NOT write their names down and I'm writing a review from a year ago, but the truly had the same name, just different spelling. In fact, our server from our first visit was there with her family as a customer when we were there the second time! We got the AM Tacos (with bacon) and the Southwest Bowl (with fried chicken) and an order of Mini-Jacks. The tacos were so good! I asked for a side of green chile sauce and that made them next level. We don't recommend getting fried chicken on the SW Bowl. The bowl was great, but the chicken was only okay. A little tough and chewy and probably not the best choice for that meal. This is one of the breakfast locations in Moab that is rated highly so we came here around 8:30am on a Wednesday. There are 2 dining areas inside - head over to the hostess stand and get your name added to the list on their automated system. You will be texted when your seat is ready and you can watch your status as you wait thru the url texted to you when you first check in. I loved knowing where we were in line at any time - very efficient. We were seated in 6 minutes and our server greeted us shortly after. We ordered regular coffee, the Cinnamon Roll (it's huge) and the Waffle meal which included eggs and bacon and we added fruit. The coffees came right away followed by the cinnamon roll. We had a few minutes to enjoy that when our breakfast arrived. Everything tasted great! The cinnamon roll did not have frosting on it but that was okay because there was a lot of cinnamon sugar in its layers. The waffles are not real Belgian but they were fresh, light, and fluffy. The line is long but it moves quickly. Lunch is served all day, I ordered a Cobb salad however their veggies aren't that fresh. A few slices of their cucumbers look spoiled and there was a wrinkly tomato. Must try their bacon . My waitress said they are sourced from a local market at Salt Lake City. Before leaving Moab for more adventures across Utah, the Fat Man and his wife stopped for breakfast at Cactus Jacks Moab. Cactus Jacks is an easygoing all-day operation spotlighting traditional comfort food, from pancakes to steaks. I wanted to try Fry Bread, a native American dish. The bread was a little dense, with some sweetness from the bread and the powdered sugar, while being airy and having a good chew. I could taste the oil, but it was not overwhelming. The texture was unique, like a combined funnel cake and pita bread. My wife tried the French Toast Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage links. The eggs were fluffy and cooked well. The sausage had an excellent salt level and a great snap in the casing. The Texas toast was coated in crushed Frosted Flakes and fried to a great golden brown with a good sweetness and texture. It offered a good chew and flavor. The syrup was out of a bottle. I had the Green-Chili-Quiles made with tortilla chips, green chili, two over-easy eggs, lime crema, pico, queso fresco, and chorizo. The tortilla chips tasted like they were made in-house, with good crunch, texture, and puffiness. The egg is perfect over easy, with great yolk for creaminess and texture. The chorizo had a good flavor with subtle heat. The pico added some freshness to the dish, while the crema had a cooling effect. The queso adds some salty flavor to the dish. The green chili is coated well on the chips, with good flavor and minimal heat. The problem that I had with the dish was that it was cold. The eggs give it some warmth, but overall, the entire dish was cold, as if it had sat waiting for the other items of the order. This made it very hard for me to eat and enjoy what could have been a great dish. Cactus Jacks offers several options with breakfast plates, omelets, griddle options, salads, and a full lunch menu.
