Tame and I met a few years ago when I was desperate for a haircut. Enter Alexis who took the time to discuss my hair and what I thought I wanted. She gave me a superb haircut. Then I met Emma who was able to wax my brows and upper lip. She is very gentle and I went away super happy. But my luck didn't stop there. I was able to get a mani/pedi the next day with Kasey who really took time with my feet. It's been love ever since. It's nice to walk into a place and be remembered by name starting with the great ladies at the desk. Just had my hair cut by Austin at Tame and it was equal to any haircut I've had in New York, London or San Francisco. I've never had great hair and an excellent cut is imperative. In my experience all the best hairdressers do it the same way -- cut hair when it's wet, then dry it and continue shaping it. It's the only way to have your hair fall around your face the right way. I chose this salon based on the awesome reviews and close proximity. I have shoulder length curly fine hair that I mostly wear up in a messy bun. I felt confident most hair stylists could trim it up no problem, but I was happy when they booked me with Alexa because she was frequently mentioned in reviews. Alexa gave me a super cut. My hair is curling beautifully with the long layers she put in. She's also personable and easy to chat with as she styles your hair. Will see her again. I can't believe my luck in going to a new salon Victoria had a tough task with me wanting miracles and miracles she delivered!! All of the staff was extremely nice and no salon drama here. I am in love with this hair salon! Samie is so talented. She took so much time with my hair and was able to blend out black on my hair that were supposed to be lowlights. I enjoyed a great haircut here after my wife referred me. Samie was my stylist, and took great care of me. I arrived for my noon appointment and waited about 5 minutes to be taken back to the chair. Samie took a minute to evaluate my longer than usual hair...we have been moving and my hair was (for me) out of control. She recognized right away that I preferred scissor cut, and inquired about how short I would like it. After discussing my follicle desires, she took me back and washed my hair in preparation for the cut. Samie took her time, and included a really nice scalp massage during both the shampoo and conditioner parts of my wash. Relaxed and soothed, I strolled back to her station to let the trimming begin. Samie made really nice small talk during my cut, and did a great job on my hair! We talked about the local area, our affinity for all things that go boom, and some great outdoor pursuits to check out near Cave Creek. At the end she gave my beard and side burn areas a nice touch up with her trimmer, as well as blocking and cleaning up my neck area. I was very pleased with my cut and style. I'm not sure how I haven't left a review on this salon yet - the service is impeccable, always on time for appointments and never stuck waiting. I, as an uninformed teenager dyed my hair black for years until 2020 when I learned box dye was extremely harsh for your hair (embarrassing). I had Alexa remove my color to such an impressive extent that it's been growing out naturally for 7 months and I haven't looked like a crazy person. They always provide impeccable haircuts as well - I have never left thinking that something could be done differently. Very fun environment and reasonable pricing for Cave Creek and the quality of service. I got recommended to go here and see Samie Spence, I got a haircut(somewhere else) when I had a "mop" and she came into my work, and said it looks nice, but this and that are off or uneven, she said you should come check out where I work, I'll give you a better haircut I came in today and she was was pleasant, and was ready to go right at 12:30, the time of my appointment, she asked what do you want to do today?, I said do what you want, you said you can give me a better haircut, I'm blind without my glasses so I didn't see what she did till the end but I can tell she had alot of care and attention to detail, more than anyone who cut my hair, when she was done, I was shocked, the cleanest fade, I've ever got, the back complimented my natural head shape, the top of my hair blended so well with my sides, I looked like a new man, whether you know what you want or not go in and ask for Samie Spence she'll give you that haircut, that makes people go WOW!!! read more

I decided to make my next trim and highlight appointment at Sonoran Beauty Salon because of it's proximity at home and it's great Yelps. I walked in and was greeted by a nice, smiling receptionist. I had to wait for about 2 minutes for my stylist to come get me, giving me time to scope out the place. Very, very clean and organized. Everyone---stylists and clients---were smiling and there was lots of soft-voiced chatter. It was a great vibe. I liked that the walls are light and the decor minimal. (Why do some salons bury themselves in dark colors that reflect on your face and hair and make you look BAD?) My stylist came to get me. Gabby. What a sweetie. She spent a good ten minutes messing with my hair and determining how she was going to recreate/blend the new color. She even consulted with another stylist. I like that. Take your time, talk with your co-workers. Don't mess up my hair. During the color and trim, Gabby was a pleasant conversationalist---not too chatty, light-hearted. When I had to take a business phone call, she didn't get huffy. She gave me a great scalp massage when she rinsed my hair. Ahhhhh! She did a great job trimming my hair---I wanted a trim, not a cut or style. Perfect. I LOVE my color. She actually brought in some bolder ribbons of light blonde. I love that look. I am not ready for the all-over matron-beige quite yet. So, I seldom award more than 3 stars. Three stars=A-Okay. 4 stars is "Yay, I'm a fan." Who the heck do you give five stars---"Woo-hooo---as good as it gets"? But I thought about it: Very clean-check. Nice vibe? Check. Nice, talented stylist? Check? Happy with color and trim? Check. Sonoran Beauty Salon is such a great salon that was easy to find off Cave Creek Road. It's in a picturesque setting that is only outdone by their warm and welcoming staff! Ryann was my selected stylist. She was super friendly, nice, easy to talk and share with...everything you want in a stylist. I went in for my summer highlights and a good hair cut to combat the dry ends of my hair. After taking the time to talk about what I wanted for my hair, she quickly ran back to create the magic potion to bring my "after winter dull" into a perfect summer 'do! She timed the process just perfect and I received a really really great cut and style. It was better than I knew my hair could look. Also, I met Lisa who is their aesthetician and we had a good chat about skin care and sunscreen. I was greeted warmly when I got there and offered water or coffee (I asked for coffee with cream and it was delicious and I needed some coffee!) The salon offers more than haircuts, for example, facials, waxing, nails and probably more. They even have a little clothing boutique. Ryann was my stylist and was very friendly and really listened to what I wanted (we did some highlights, low lights and trimmed up my locks!) It came out great! I will definitely be going back! It was a really great experience from start to finish. They were super friendly when I called to schedule my appointment, friendly when I checked in and my stylist (Gaby) was great. The prices were super reasonable, the vibe was casual chic, and I will definitely be back. About a week after my appointment I got a cute card in the mail thanking me for choosing them and then an email instructing me how to manage my account online (making appts). Sweet!! I recently moved to Cave Creek and was looking for a new salon. I went to Tame and was pleasantly surprised how cute the salon and boutique were...and they people were very friendly. Alexa did my highlights and I left happy with my hair but after only a week it looked like the color hadn't taken. Due to my personal schedule I was not able to contact them with my dissapointment for another couple of weeks. Without question, they immediately booked me back in for a color correction at no charge. The owner thanked me for saying something and Alexa did an awesome job today. After trying 2 expensive salons and not being that impressed someone recommended Sonoran beauty salon. Their prices are reasonable and I just loved my stylist Nanette. She really listened and did a MUCH better color than the previous salons. Much more natural and the highlights r perfect. I am getting some gray hair and she managed to pull it all together. They have a really nice part of the salon that has cool clothes, jewelry and candles. Their hair care products are great and everyone is really nice.
