I have been coming to this spot for years. However, I was there recently and the guy cooking at the grill was not wearing gloves and was tossing the vegetables into the grill with his bare hands. One of my favorite spots for lunch time. There subs are to die for especially the garlic steak pleaseeeee try it I promise you will thank me later. Now i will say that you must also have it with there white bread instead of the wheat it makes a difference and if your already being a big girl or big guy then you must go all the way lol! I have also tried there salads that are also good but nothing beats the subs you can have a full sub or half. You can also have it with a combo that includes curly fries and soft drink. The prices are around $6 to $10 depending if it's a combo or size of your sandwich. You can order online or can just walk in but it gets packed at times especially if its a day that they offer a free soda or double points. What a great place for lunch and subs period. The menu gets creative with the favorites menu naming and the flavor of every sub I've tried (only tried 2 so far...give me time) has been outstanding. The curly fries alone will leave you hooked. This place is so close to my job and friend Beatriz L insisted we had to go check it out and whoa we were both so happy with our subs. Their famous for their garlic sub so I had to try that. I don't know what their seasoning secret is besides the garlic but the meat alone is so flavorful. I tried to behave and order the half a sub (we ordered the fries and cheese which was more than enough) but after I swallowed not chewed the sub I wish I would've been a true fatties and ordered the damn foot long. I really appreciate food that doesn't need anything added to it. When I ordered I only put veggies,cheese,mustard, and lite mayo on it and I'm glad I did because it didn't need any additional seasonings or oils but to each his own. The next day happened to be national sandwich day so we decided the sane thing to do was to go back and try something else. On this visit I had the New Yorker, my gosh it's the pastrami sub and I was delighted, 5 stars for both visits so far. If you enjoy subs and like friendly service, definitely stop by and try whatever is on the menu,you'll be glad you did. Three Words: Garlic Steak Sub. One Word: Awesome! Who would've thought that this simple steak sub drench in garlic sauce would make us fall in love with Tamiami Subs!?! The Mister ordered the Garlic Steak Sub and I ordered the Honey Mustard Chicken Sub (chicken pieces drenched in honey mustard...pretty good), both with the fry combo, which came with a soda and an order of crunchy, curly fries. Plan on spending around $20ish with these two combos. Oh, and plan on using lots of napkins, as these subs tend to get messy as you stuff your face with them. Yup, garlic sauce or honey mustard sauce dripping down the side of your mouth...super sexy and classy. Overall, the subs and fries are great and the customer service is awesome. NPS = 7 Quick service with a smile...but kind of wish they had more of a "pop" or a competitive advantage to make them different than every other sub shop. I ordered the Joe Mama. Make sure to ask for vegetables or you will only get bread and meat (I learned the hard way). The steak was grilled well and tasted great. But again, no toppings were added and I wasn't asked if I wanted any. My friend asked for a Big Bird and it looked good as well. Even though they offer curly fries, the place does not "feel" greasy. The place was generally very clean as well. They do not offer sauces any more, but the girl at the counter was nice enough to get me fresh ground horseradish. Great service. Again, I wish I was offered additional condiments for my sub but all I got was meat, cheese, onions and bread. We found ourselves at Tamiami Subs on a Saturday after a sweltering trip to the zoo. I was looking for restaurants nearby and came across a review by my friend and knew I needed to look no further! We ordered a large garlic steak sandwich with grilled onions and curly fries. The service was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to suggestions. The flavor of the garlic steak sandwich is indescribable. It is one of the best subs I have ever had. The marriage of the steak, sauce, bread, and onions was pure flawlessness. In addition, because I was splitting the sub, I ordered only half with onions. I appreciated the fact that they took it upon themselves to label which side had the onions. Little details like this make the experience so much more memorable. The curly fries were fresh, piping hot and cooked perfectly. Literally the first restaurant I've tried in West Kendall area. I'm not a huge sandwich shop visitor, but this place was within walking distance of work, so why not. Im glad i gave it a try. The people were nice, gave good recommendations, the food was fresh, and delish. The drawback, so I hear, from coworkers is that it gets superpacked at noon. You can order online and pickup so that's a great option :) they take a bit longer, than say.. subway, but that's because everything is cut,prepared, etc at the time of order. Fresh food. Upon the suggestion of fellow Yelper, Tom W., I went in search of Tamiami Subs. Not being too familiar with the area, I kinda got lost and checked about 5 different strip malls before finding the place. It's alright though - it made me want the damn sub all that much more. To begin with, the staff is super friendly, and they love to address you by name. Usually I would be totally creeped out by sub shop employees being so nice, but these guys seemed genuinely happy to have customers around. Just as Tom W. said, the man who prepared our sub first asked us if we had ever been to the place and then proceeded to recommend the Garlic Steak sub. He was very pleased to learn that we had come for that exact thing and that we had read a great review of it online. The sub, in a word, was tasetacular. Or tastelicious. Possibly a tastearama? Pick whichever one you like; they all do the sub equal justice. I paid a little more than I usually expect to pay for a sub (about $14 for a full sub, two drinks and a cookie), but it was well worth the cost. The eating area and restrooms were both immaculate, which is a big step up from other crappier strip mall joints. Seeing as I've ordered from here before I was quite surprised to see that they used canned mushrooms instead of fresh. The taste and texture really threw me. Excellent subs! Its hidden in a shopping plaza with mainly warehouses behind the airport. Very informal, clean and just delicious. Favorite sub is the country fried chicken, ask for extra honey mustard, sometimes they can get skippy on the sauce. Also, if you like the philly cheesesteak, its good but a little dry so make sure you add some mayo to the bread! Definitely recommend this spot for casually eating or take out! read more

Wow, I was actually surprised by this little sub shop. It's a little off the way, on 120th the north side of tamiami airport but man was it worth it. Staff was very nice, girl taking my order was über cordial and answered all my questions with a smile. Tried the Garlic steak sub, based on the reviews on Yelp and was it good. Juicy, meaty, a nice full sub the way it's suppose to be done. Hint hint subway & Quiznoes. Will def be going back to try the firecracker chicken an Asian chicken, both of which sound great. So this place is one of the best sub shops to visit in the area. It was my first time here today and I got the garlic steak full sized with grilled onions, lettuce, and cheese. It was a good sized sandwich, not overly stuffed like some places which i actually don't mind but if you want a more moderate portion then this place gets it right with their full size. (Note: also have the option to go extra size, or double size) The meat in my sandwich had a flavorful bite of garlic to it, and I feel it's a very signature taste for the restaurant. Definitely something I recommend you to try if it's your first time. I also got curly fries which weren't too salty and did their job as a side which is to accommodate your food and help you fill up. This place is easy to miss because it is located in a small little office complex where there are no other restaurants around. Every time I come here the staff is very friendly. I have gotten the garlic steak, jalapeno ranch steak, and the honey mustard chicken. They are all really tasty with my favorite being the garlic steak sub. The garlic sauce that they put on the sub is delicious. I definitely recommend coming here for lunch if you are in the area and don't want to spend too much for lunch. Their fries are also good. They are crisp and lightly seasoned without being greasy. My only qualm with the place is that they charge the same price as places like hungry bear, but they don't give nearly as much meat. It's not like they are stingy on the meat, they give enough, it is more like hungry bear gives enough meat to feed a bear...ooohh bear puns!! read more

I've tried this place twice. They are located right across from the Tamiami Airport on SW 120th Street. This is a new location. The staff are extremely friendly, very polite and well mannered. It felt weird, just because you don't get that type of service anywhere, let alone a local sub shop. The subs are prepared right in front of you, right off the grill. It's made very fast and they taste fantastic! I had the full size chicken with honey mustard on wheat, both times! You can add sides like fries or chips! You can get your order to go or you can sit in. The seating capacity is 20, so it's a small restaurant. I must add, come ready to spend a bit more! You won't find $5 foot-longs here, it's a tad bit on the expensive side. The full size sub starts at $6.95 and sides and drinks are extra. Again, very tasty and the staff just make it taste better! I got my sub it was on white, the mushrooms, onions and mushrooms were pretty much non existent. Speaking of which...Where's the beef? This is a decent place for a sub. Much better than Subway or Quiznos. it offers a wide variety in their menu. In addition, if you don't find anything you want off the menu you can just make your own sub or wrap. I don't know about their breakfast food as I haven't gone there for breakfast but it seems OK from the menu. I'll update my review once I taste it. The service is great and the place is clean and nice. The prices are affordable for the type and quality of food you are getting. My hubby lives for this place and took me here when we started dating...he's also good friends with the owners (who are now my friends). :) They seriously won me over quickly since I'm a foodie! I graduated to the wraps bc they were just soo good and I'm not a big bread person. Then I got my masters and tried my wrap in a salad and seriously can't go back to anything else! Here's my list of what I got from beginning to now: - The usual Philly cheesesteak sub or chicken - Then getting it on a spinach or tomato wrap with either asian, pesto, or marinara combo...to then getting the sauces on the side so I can get different taste bites of each - chicken tenders! I don't know what it is about those! They're sooo good! And I'm not a chicken tender girl but these are just so yummy with asian sauce on the grill and in the wrap yum!! (They grill the tenders in the sauce after frying it)...its Heaven! - and now my regular is the chicken tender salad...my own concoction so it's basically what I'd have in my wrap or sub: chicken tenders with asian on grill, grilled onion/peppers, on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, Parmesan cheese (you can also do provolone but the parm goes nicely since its salad), vinegar, black pepper, then I add some pesto and asian into it (latest since it use to be only asian). It's soooo good (see picture) Curly fries - YUM Cheese sticks - with marinara and pesto on the side.. YUM! And the best Otis Spunkmeyer cookies...I like to put the chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies together like a sandwich...its the best way to eat them! Mmmmm...yea I'm a fatty w/e!
