I really wanted to love this place but it's crazily over priced for spray tans! I paid almost $40 for one spray tan. I asked about packages and was told it would be $110 for 3! Not much of a discount and a lot more than the last package I purchased there last year which was around $80. The girl at the desk told me their prices just went up. I asked about coupons and was told there weren't any. There are other places nearby that offer 5 tans in the exact same booth for less than $110. I just don't understand why they are so expensive for the same machine. This location is so close to my house too, it's disappointing. If their prices improved, I'd consider returning. read more

Tan City North Ridgeville is always my go-to for spray tans before an event or for just buying a month here and there to get some color. The staff is always so nice and educated on their packages/pricing. However, while I appreciate the vibe staying the same since I was in high school 10+ years ago, it definitely needs a face lift at some point! read more

Tan City used to be my go to until today. I get to the Elyria location to be told their Versa Spa spray tanning machine is out of order and I'll need to go to the Sheffield location. I book it to the Sheffield location because they close at 4 and it's around 3:30. When I get there at 3:45 the worker is obviously irritated. She tells me I can go back but I'll need to turn the light back on in the room. I planned on cancelling my membership after my spray. When I get back to the counter at 3:50 the worker is counting down the drawer as if they're closed and tells me to come back another time to cancel. Not a very pleasant experience or good vibe from the tanning workers. read more

Purchased a package last year for the mid level beds. When I got into the bed it looked like it was from the 1980s. When I got home, I called and left a message for the manager to see if there was any way I could pay more to upgrade my package because I was disappointed in the quality of the beds. I never received a phone call back. Stopped in today because I knew I had tans left on the original package that I purchased and just wanted to get a quick base using the several tans I had left. The girl at the front desk informed me that their packages expire after one year (and i was "one day" over that year), which I was not aware of. Very upset about this policy- not only was I never told, but now I am not getting what I had originally purchased. I will never be back and will not recommend this business to anyone. read more

The beds are good the place looks clean I wipe my bed down before I get in with extra towels just in case though. They have a good variety of different beds stand up or reg. Airbrush tans are available here also but I've never tried it. My favorite bed is the Queen Berry, I usually get coupons in my local adds for 30% off lotions and some different tanning packages. I first went to Tan City because it is close to my home and I wanted to prolong my summer tan. Let's face it; tanning is addictive and makes you feel better! I realized they have many convenient locations with North Ridgeville, Elyria, and Sheffield. At the Sheffield location I was greeted/helped by Izabel! After talking with her I received helpful and abundant information to help me with may tanning experience. Her knowledge is superb and her personality makes it even better. Isabel is kind, polite, patient an is a true asset to the company. I will continue to fulfill my tanning needs here at Tan City for as long as I am able. Got a month package right before the COVID19 craziness, got to tan 3 times before told we are all supposed to stay home, call here asking to put a HOLD on my package until this passes because I dont. Feel comfortable going into a tanning bed, and I'm told I'm not a VIP member so they won't so ok what about the people doing what they are told and staying home, yet she still wouldn't do it since they are "still open" which is also stupid and shows lack of compassion for their customers well being. And if they did they wouldn't even be open to begin with and doing what they need to do to make sure their customers are taken care of. I just moved to north ridge, was looking for tanning close to home. I googled tanning and tan city came up. Looked at their website, downloaded their coupon, for 1 week free, went into TC. I was greeted by a young girl, who was cordial , I was told the coupon had to be printed to except( even though it does say it on the coupon)I explained I could email it to her to print bc they had a printer there. The answer was no. I told her my daughter and I would like to try a new place before I cancel from my existing tanning place. The answer no, now I think this was bad for business, this company will lose 2 new clients bc of a non printed coupon. No apologies In fact the girl just turned and walked away. Every year before I go on my annual spring vacation to South Carolina, I try to get a moderate tan base so that I don't burn my winter skin and don't have to use sunblock. This is my second year doing this at Tan City. The staff is courteous and helpful. The place is attractive and very clean. I'm paying a little more than the place that I used to go to, but am so much more satisfied with my experience. I highly recommend them. read more

I have been going to northern lights in Sheffield since they opened in 2002 and I can see why I'm going now to Palm beach tanning in Avon. today I had one girl who said if I didn't have a key card I couldn't tan. So I had to get my drivers license. The morale has totally changed for the worse. I wish NLT never sold. If I have to be identified as a barcode and not a name I'm going elsewhere. Everytime I go there the girls are on the phone having personal conversations. I didn't know tan city pays the associates to make personal phone calls. And the girls are never at the desk. Greet people as they walk and and thank them for their business. Poor customer service and they provide no specials or incentives for permanent customers. I can see why I don't have to wait for a bed anymore because the customer count declined. Atmosphere is totally different at palm beach. They acknowledge me by name and treat me like a person and not a barcode. read more

I purchased the VIP membership which includes a free tan on their upgraded beds. However, their are two different VIP memberships and you will only get the free upgrade on the more expensive membership.
